One other reason I like your videos is, for example when you’re pulling the body off, I could see what a hard top c pillar looks like. I was able to see the gas tank straps a little bit and a lot of nooks and crannies (fuel lines etc) that you wouldn’t otherwise get to see.
Thanks for making these…I’m currently doing this with four wheelers and I plan on graduating to humvees once I make enough money….I’ll be watching the heck out of these!
There are wire splices with solder in it a stove lighter to secure it and heat shrink over it Paint with marine awlgrip paint and primer, use alumiprep and alodine for metal treatment b4 paint
nice work, wish I lived next door, I'd be there the whole build! ever think about renting a warehouse space for this build so as to increase space efficiencies? pretty soon you'll have to pave the front yard for all the vehicles! :)
Another great video. Finally was able to pick mine up from Yermo California last week. Now you have me thinking I should. Do videos as well. You even have me thinking about doing a body off restoration. I am thinking you will put the body back on outside, or remove the A-pillar to have added clearance. If I was closer you could use my M1084A1R to lift the body back on.
I’m actually in the middle of a slant back build right now. I’m in too deep to turn back but my suggestion is don’t do it. 😑 unless you really really want a slant back. The parts are becoming harder to find and they’re getting more expensive. If you’re going to do it use the OEM stuff unless you can TIG weld and are up for doing a bunch of bodywork.
So awesome series on each vehicle build... Both the vehicles when bought were not operational... How do you approach if there is blow by on the engine?
If there’s excessive blow by, that means the motor is extremely worn… You’ll get maybe a little life out of it. If you’re able to bid or buy one that is running and no or very little blow by present is where you want to be.
Hi there , loved your work . Finally mine got release and wondering where do you rent the trailer ? Thinking about haul trailer but it’s looks unsafe. Thanks
I’ve gotten some trailers from Sun Belt rentals before, the trailer I just got I found on Facebook, because I Couldn’t find one for rent that was wide enough through a company. A lot of companies out there have them though, just make sure they’re 82 inches wide between the wheel wells
the hummer h1 is such an amazing vehicle - so modular!

Yes, this GA humidity has been brutal lately - slowing me down on my humvee build :)
