JAEGER-LECOULTRE Duometre Chronograph Moon, Duometre Quantieme Lunaire and Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual. Before Jaeger-LeCoultre developed the Duometre concept, adding complications to a watch movement seemed irreconcilable with accurate timekeeping. That is because the fundamental requirement of precise timekeeping is that the power supply from the movement’s barrel to the escapement should be absolutely steady. However, in order to operate, a complication must draw on the power supply, which interrupts that steady flow and thus jeopardises precision. Thanks to this ingenious concept, the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre added a new chapter to watchmaking history, opening the door to horological complexity and laying the foundation of an entire Duometre collection. Introduced in 2007, the patented Duometre mechanism features two barrels and two separate gear trains housed in a single calibre and linked to a single regulating organ. One gear train powers the time indications and the other drives all additional functions. By separating the power supply in this way, the Duometre mechanism guarantees an exceptionally high degree of operating accuracy. Jaeger-LeCoultre launched the ground-breaking Duometre mechanism in the form of a chronograph - the complication that epitomises the concept of precision. In 2024, the Maison applies the Duometre concept in an entirely new timepiece, marrying the high precision of a chronograph with the charm of a celestial complication. Powered by the new Calibre 391, the Duometre Chronograph Moon presents an intriguing contrast between the lightning-fast operation of the chronograph - which can time intervals as small as 1/6th of a second - and the slow rhythm of the moon as it passes through its cycle in 29.53 days, complemented by a Night and Day display. This year Jaeger-LeCoultre presents a new generation of Duometre timepieces - among them a reinterpretation of the Duometre Quantieme Lunaire (Moon Phase). The first Duometre piece to be offered in steel (!), its eye-catching blue dial, paired with a new case, lends a decidedly contemporary air to a timeless and distinctive design. The highlight of the new collection is the Duometre Heliotourbillon Perpetual. This watch is pushing the boundaries of inventiveness further than ever, the new Calibre 388 features an entirely new tourbillon construction: one that spins on three axes to create a ‘spinning top’ effect. The balance-wheel oscillates at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vph) to further enhance chronometry, Calibre 388 also incorporates a perpetual calendar with a grande date indication.

From what I’ve seen so far from W&W thus year, JLC has blown it out of the water with these novelties. By far my favorite from the show. Patek and Rolex releases were all so predictable and boring.
Hardly anything is new though? The Duometre deserves more than just dial changes and a new case inspired by TAG Heuer's Glassbox.
The Duometre is one of the most beautiful and underrated watches. This is a beautiful evolution but I liked the chunky crown on the previous. One of my favorite watches I’ve ever owned. Great job JLC

First of all thanks for posting this beautiful video. Really lovely ! Most websites report that this Masterpiece will be produced in only 20 pieces , but one website says that it will be limited to a YEARLY 20 pieces production ( meaning that it will still be able to buy the watch in the future). Do you know which is true between these two announcements ?

Do the power reserves on the last two pieces always reduce at the same speed so when you wind them they will always regenerate evenly?

Before I buy all of them can I check. Can my local watch maker John service these or do they need to go back to JLC?
It will be impossible for John to source parts. Has to go to JLC.

@@Dazulolwarrior I don’t think he has any qualifications but he is pretty good and said he can do all of these including the tourbillon so I will get that one.
I think the second watch would be much more useful if it were a 5 Hz watch./36,000 vibrations per hour, because I think being able to time something to a 10th of a second would be more useful than to 1/6 of a second.
