    I went to look at some bikes today.
    The scam surprised me with how premium it looked.
    The interceptor surprised me by not looking as good as I expected.
    The classics look fantastic but I think they might be a bit more sedate than the others?
    The meteors looked amazing. My favourite looks wise. Especially the yellow one.
    But i think the hunter will suit me a bit better with the seating position and apparently it's a bit more responsive with a slightly higher top end.
    Definitely spoilt for choice.

    • @forgottenmotorcycles

      Sounds like you had a good look at these wonderful motorcycles. Agree with your conclusion. I have the Classic, 2500 miles in about a month, and do love it. Classic is mellow. I'm thinking the Meteor may be the most comfortable on the long rides...will try to get a long ride on one very soon. We've been calling the Hunter a mini Interceptor. Love the sporty looks and nature of the Hunter. Let us know what you end up doing. Wahoo!

    • @letni9506
      @letni9506 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm going to have to test ride one or two. On looks alone I'd buy a meteor but I think they probably all have a different character.
      I suffer from sciatica so I'm not sure about the meteor riding position. It looks like a lot of the weight goes on your spine with the legs out forward and not leaning on the bars.
      Although I'm not into sports bikes these days I found being hunched over was fine for my back.

    I think the scram would suit my love of back roads, including dirt and gravel, but there’s been a lot of conflicting information about the build quality. It doesn’t have to be at the Steller level of the 350s, but what do you think?

    • @forgottenmotorcycles
      @forgottenmotorcycles  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Build quality for RE's gets better every year. My 2021 Himalayan has held together well but when compared to the new Royal Enfield's you can see the improvements made. These improvements go beyond cosmetics to include software, fueling, paint and more. The new Scram has a much higher level of fit & finish when compared to my 21 Himalayan. I don't think you can go wrong...Dang, that was long. Short form: Quality good, go buy that Scram. Wahoo!

    I really wish these bikes had a tach. It is just really helpful when you are figuring out specifically how that bike operates and when you are wearing earplugs you can't necessarily "hear" when you are supposed to change gear. This kind of think is making me want to go with the Himalayan but I really don't like how heavy that bike and I think it looks comparatively much worse. I think the Hunter is the one that best fits what I am going for but I would like to one day try dirt and don't really want to do that on a street bike even with things like a skid plate. I just gotta be honest with myself though. Do I buy a bike that is better for the type of riding I already do or buy a bike that is worse but better for a type of riding I may not do or ultimately like doing.

    • @forgottenmotorcycles
      @forgottenmotorcycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wonder is a tach can be added? Should not be too hard to do. When I bought my Himalayan I was doing very little dirt, only had a 1100 Honda Shadow, now half the miles on my Himalayan are on dirt. The motorcycle really opened up a new world of riding for me because I live in an area with so many gravel and dirt roads. It's been great...for me. Wahoo!

    • @SirNarax
      @SirNarax ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@forgottenmotorcycles Yeah I discovered a Tach is actually trival to add on the aftermarket. 30 dollars and maybe an hour of your time if you are a moron (like me). A lot of them are ugly as hell but if I will probably want it off once I get an intuitive feel for the bike.
      The more I think the more the Hunter seems obvious. I frankly don't have anywhere to ride off-road nearby. So I think being honest with myself it is better to get the road focused bike. Then getting a skid plate, maybe some slight dirt bias tires for when I find a gravel or dirt road to tear up.

    I was so impressed by your collection of motorcycles that I had to ask: did you ride them as well or just rounded up the spects? I mean, don't get me wrong, I appreciate a good spec sheet as much as the next guy, but there's nothing like feeling the wind in your hair and the roar of the engine in your ears. Unless you're bald and deaf, of course. Then you might want to stick to the spects.

      I still have a little hair left. Have rode the Hunter a few hundred mile and the Scram less. Plan on putting a few hundred mile on a Scram 411 this weekend. This Scram 411 has a Zard pipe. So, that should be a little extra fun. Wahoo!

    Google is telling me that the top speed it opposite of what you said.. Scram = 85 MPH & Hunter = 112 MPH (according to google) which is weird to me considering the Scram has the larger engine.

    • @forgottenmotorcycles
      @forgottenmotorcycles  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So, I've had the Himalayan & the Scram indicating 85, my GPS claimed 83 in both cases. Most I could get out of the Hunter was an indicated 77 mph or so before it started bouncing off the speed limiter. Only time I've had my personal Classic 350 indicate over 100 mph was when the speedometer failed. Pretty sure I was only going about 75 mph. Great bikes and loads of fun! Wahoo!

    Nice video, Hunter to me seems like a fattened up Suzuki Tu 250/Volty. Nice bikes, top speed will increase after running in period, then a sprocket with an extra tooth in the front or minus one at the back will increase the top speed and perhaps shave very little torque....if ones desire...

    Why oh why would Royal Enfield not give the Hunter a 500cc engine ? It wouldn’t be a rocket ship but it could certainly cruise all day at 60-70 mph, 100-110 kmh, wake up and do it again. The 350 is nice if you don’t do much highway riding and from the reviews I have been reading the Scram 411 only does slightly better. Come on Royal Enfield you can do it, make an old man happy.

      I think a better idea would be to make a more modernized version of the Int650 like what the Hunter is to the Classic. Personally the Hunter would lose its' appeal for me pretty quickly if it was a 500. Maybe silly but I think the price point is perfect and the amount of power is great for the type of riding I like to do. And yes I know the Interceptor isn't actually a classic bike but it still carries over classic features the Hunter doesn't if that makes any sense.
