Andromeda when it launched was a hot mess. Andromeda now is actually quite good. One thing I will mention as you go through the game is to always keep in mind that this was meant to be a trilogy. So if plot points seem unfinished or underdeveloped, well - that’s because they were. By intention. They had no idea it would be iced out like it was after the first installment.
The low sales were unexpected, but Bioware abandoned the game. Not as bad as Anthem (which was actually pulled from sale THEN abandoned), but if ME5 is somehow going to attempt to incorporate MEA themes in it I will be unhappy. That's a money-grab move (how many will buy MEA to get all the - albeit limited - lore?).
@ yes, they pulled the plug (IMO prematurely) once the backlash was clear. But I take the opposite stance in that I hope they do incorporate MEA portions in ME5 if for no other reason than to give closure (assuming they have decided to fully abandon). I think they really set up something interesting in Andromeda but like you said, they ditched it before it got a chance to spread its wings.
@basicwitgirl Andomeda is scan EVERYTHING. It'll be mission related a lot of the time. So it may be a good idea to get into the habit. ^_^ glad you're enjoying it so far, and Sam's voice ^_^ 😂😅😂😅😂😅😂
ME:A is the experience of looking at the mass effect universe through star trek goggles 🤣 (Yeah I just came up with that) (NOT JUDGING, I had some exploration fun in this game)
An important thing to keep in mind is that when this game was made, there were two Bioware studios. The secondary studio made the multiplayer mode in Mass Effect 3, which was really good despite being somewhat tacked on, and I'm pretty sure that was the only thing they'd ever made at the time. That secondary studio was also the one that EA had make this game, which is why the gameplay olin this game is a notable step up from ME3, while the story and animation in cutscenes is gonna be an even more notable step down. Another tidbit worth noting: the reason the primary studio didn't make this game is because EA was having them make Anthem. These studios being assigned to these projects is what I feel like both failed. The studio that was proven skilled at making narrative driven single player games was put in charge of making a live service title, while the studio that only had experience making multiplayer games was tasked with making a single player game that's heavily dependent on good writing and world building.
I played through MASS EFFECT Andromeda twice, first in a quick run through and then almost completely on "Insane", for both runs together I needed 150++ hours 🙂, the game is very extensive ... this passage @ 02:08:57 with her father is very moving ... I'm curious if there will be a romance in your playthrough 💥
BioWare is very good at writing cringey dialogue, I can’t think of a game of theirs that I haven’t cringed at when hearing the dialogue, and I’ve played them all.
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that I actually like Andromeda. It's a very different game from the trilogy and is nowhere near as good, but seriously, what is? Andromeda has been thoroughly enjoyable for me on all three playthroughs, soon to be four. Andromeda's art style is gorgeous, in my opinion, the combat is dynamic and fun and the characters are likeable and have enough depth to be interesting. I also get a little bit of that good old sense of wonder when exploring the worlds in Andromeda, something that has become quite rare for me in games. Interesting fact: If you leave Ryder's name as standard (Sara or Scott), people will sometimes refer to Ryder by their first name for some extra immersion. Not sure why your hair looks like that. The hair in my game looks less bland and more shiny (not significantly so, but noticeably). I am not using any hair texture mods either. Weird.
I had forgotten how bad the graphics were for the PC. That hair.. ugh. Shepard had good hair. It just shows the lack of resources after EA took over Bioware. The story was not bad. I know the artists did the best they could, given most of the resources were being diverted to Anthem. There was so much promise and such an epic opening.
Yeah I don’t know what she did or if it’s a glitch, I played this just last week and my Ryders hair looks nothing like that, looks more like real hair.
Well one good effect of Dragon Age Veilguard is, that I now can somewhat appreciate this game, which I used to hate... I guess it always can get worse...
I never hated Andromeda, it just didn't feel like a Mass Effect game tbh. I think they tried to distance themselves from the first three games too much.
@@ommadawn8434 Yeah that one I could understand. New studio, new people, so the direction was gonna change, but the story is full of holes and doesn't make sense and it's all so badly written, just like Veilguard... I have really tried to give it a chance multiple times, but it is objectively far inferior to the trilogy...
I honestly thought the Veilguard was better than Andromeda by miles 💀 Because even though it had flaws, I actually cared about the characters and some of the story
@@Kira_r-u1c Yeah some people did enjoy that and that's okay. I could not enjoy it at all and the cartoonish character designs really put me off. You can't have a mature and heavy story, while your character looks like a cartoon character for 8 year olds... One of many things that ruined the experience for me. The Main plot was one of the handful somewhat okayish things about Veilguard, yet they couldn't save the game for me... Probably the last game I bought from BioWare...

Let me just say that Andromeda has amazing music. Hits in the emotions quite a bit
I could never take the antagonist seriously. He looks like an alien version of the little health inspector guy from Bob's Burgers.
I'm pretty sure Alec only reacts that way to a female Ryder. Sera Ryder is more of a peacekeeper, while Scott likes to explore

BATTERY! BATTERY! DUMBBELL! DUMBBELL!
its a fun game
Dialog definitely as cringe as the Bioware Hair. 'My face is tired' is the iconic meme from this game.

I suspect that most players quit the game after the scene with "'My face is tired" 🤣
It’s really weird her hair is like that, I played this just last week and my Ryders hair looks good, is it a bug or something?
I think certain colors just make the hair look really bad - some blonde hair colors especially.
