Just bought a 81 goldwing super excited to get to work. Thank you so much for the content. I’m brand new to motorcycles and this is just what I needed

Thanks. I'm tearing apart an 81 to use the front end on a vw trike. Its sat outdoors since 1992.

That sounds like a fun project!
Sounds like you found a good candidate, 28 years is a long time exposed to the elements. This one was only outside for 5 or 6 years maybe?

Just been out on my GL1100 1982 model (to Matlock Bath in Derbyshire) and I have noticed a slight oscillation through the handle bars. On returning home I jacked the front of the bike up and pulled/ pushed on the fork legs to see if there is any rock or play. Noticed a small amount of movement so it looks as if I need to tighten the head bearing slightly. It was interesting watching your video to see the sequence of operations necessary to uncover the adjustment collars.

Man, I have watched your first 7 GL1100 vids, and am really enjoying them. Need to see #8 :) Liked, sub'd.

What are all those electrical controls?

The GL1100 in 81 didn't have a points ignition. Spark modules, signal flasher, regulator, ignition control module
      I think that covers it
