@@MCLRN_GRit was mine too actually. Imagine if there was a fire in that building. Heaven forbid! I hope they have a good relationship with their insurer...
Since much of warehouse contents are irreplaceable, i.e. the paper drawings, and the very high value of the other items, McClaren likely self-insures. They could field a complete F1 team with what insurance premiums would be. It's a safe bet that they have the most advanced fire detection/suppression system(s) available installed in the facility.
If Bruce McLaren could see the amazing complex his team became, he'd most certainly be amazed and so very proud. Sadly, teams created by racing drivers have all but disappeared, like Brabham, Surtees, Fittipaldi, and of course, Stewart and Prost. Regardless, now there are only two teams founded by the so-called "garagists"; Williams and McLaren, while all the others are branded with compaly names. Well, I suppose Ferrari falls in the first category as well!
you would have to be blindfolded. Its very hush hush you know. I used to know where it was (a few hundred yards from my home), but I think it may have moved since then
there's only one thing wrong with this video - it's not long enough. 3 years in the making, should make it 30 minutes. awesome content nonetheless, you got a new subscriber
This ware house reminds me of the video that lewis and jenson done where they both drooled over 1 of ayrtons race winning cars that was in a warehouse just like this, it was a pretty cool video tbf. Great video as always 👍🏻 it was definitely worth the 3 yr wait. 😂😂
This is the place since i was a teenager i was hearing about and seeing pictures of McLaren Unit 2. This place is simply amazing. The history of McLaren gathered in this warehouse with some amazing historic cars from McLaren history. Parts to see with such an excitement. Goosebumps only thinking i could be able to visit this place as a massive McLaren fan. Thanks for the video. One day maybe i will be able to go there and witness all these amazing cars sleeping there. I Could literally work there for the rest of my life.
I visited Williams heritage and had a factory tour.Dickie was in charge at Williams heritage. Such a knowledgeable guy.. mclaren have lots of storage facility’s around Woking. The SLR STIRLING MOSS slr etc are kept there. We used to mot them every year…
Great video ,nice to see older f1 cars cared and brought back to life ,these are cars we remember and watched when we where younger ,many thanks for sharing this video
Objectively speaking (yes objectively), MP 4/6 is the best car ever made, if F1 cars are the pinnacle of all racing cars. It is: 1. The last car to win the F1 championship with a manual gearbox 2. The ONLY F1 car to win the F1 championship with a V12 engine 3. Senna's last championship winning car
Hope they have a good fire and theft prevention system. I always hate seeing those polysterene tiles in archives because they spread fire like ceiling petrol
Senna and the HONDA MP4s are my favorite! I only have TAMIYA plastic models but I'm quite satisfied with them. Well I wish I was in this house though...
The 1976 M23! With airbox or without? Also, do they know where the oil coolers moved about that JH said affected the handling? Loveley video, with a bonus of Dickie Stanford, yay!
No, he means customers. A lot of cars are sold to wealthy people who run them. McLaren's collection never got remortgaged. It was only ever explored as a possibility
Did. Went to work for Zak at United Autosport, must of bored him for the heritage cars. The man is a legend and was everyone's dad back in the day when he was manager
3 years to make a 10min vid? Show us more !!!! Can you show B roll or anything whatsoever? Many people would love to watch it, even if there isn't a polished storyline or flashy editing
He doesn't work for McLaren directly. After leaving Williams Heritage, Dickie was hired by Zak Brown as "Historic Motorsport Project Manager" at United Autosports.
Imagine how much insurance is on all that
This was your first thought?

Andretti also
Stewart is still running, it’s Red Bull. It’s a stretch but so is this mclaren from the team Bruce created only the name is left.
And what about sauber? It is still the same team after all. Alfa is only the title sponsor.
in my opinion, this was the legacy of Ron Dennis of what he has created.
@87yugo74 he was most definitely all for that team he didn't play no games it was bad news when he left to be honest
Mclaren should offer that as part of a museum tour. I would go to the UK just for that. Fantastic video!!!

The content of this channel is pure gold. Congratulations for reach the 100k, keep going! =D
Thanks

Top work!
The amount of history in that warehouse is just crazy.

This channel is just so different from anything on the internet, it's really special!

I saw can-am and Indy car as well. Wish they were mentioned.
Honestly one of the best videos I have seen this year, mega job! 🧡
Absolutely fantastic, thoroughly enjoyed watching and learning more about McLaren heritage. Thank you. 🙏

Excellent work as always, matt 👏 I'm so jealous , thanks for sharing 😀
It’s not a secret warehouse . It’s on Albert drive sheerwater Woking. The old mclaren factory. It’s the unit round the back .
this video deserve milions of views so intresting and you spended so much time
7:20 tra quei cilindri sono presenti anche i progetti della ferrari del 2008
Can you imagine the value of the contents of that building? I hope they have a good fire suppression system to protect them.
How there isn't a McLaren museum, is beyond me!!
Respect. Thanks Matt Amys for the unprecedented content ❤
5:36 what is that car covered with Porsche cover in the back?
It’s a lanzante Porsche 930 TAG turbo
A garage full of history. That is the place I would most like to see. No MTC, no garage during the f1 race.
Hope they have a good fire and theft prevention system.
I always hate seeing those polysterene tiles in archives because they spread fire like ceiling petrol
Lovely video - What's the Porsche doing here? 5:34
It might be the 911 that was fitted with a TAG turbo F1 engine
Thank you Matt & a big thank you to McLaren for opening the doors !
What a beautiful video, thank you.
Dickie Stanford at Mclaren? Last time I saw him he was at Williams!!
amazing! great vid
Wow amazing, my favorite is the MP/4/6 Senna and Berger
Senna and the HONDA MP4s are my favorite! I only have TAMIYA plastic models but I'm quite satisfied with them. Well I wish I was in this house though...

With the airbox!
This was amazing 😍
Piers Thynne looks so much like his Dad, Sheridan! 👍🏻
EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT work Matt 👍👍🏁
Visited there a few weeks back. Mind blowing place 🤯
They should open a museum. So many great cars.
When he says customer car he means Ron Dennis as McLaren had to mortgage this car collection to pay him off.
No, he means customers. A lot of cars are sold to wealthy people who run them.
McLaren's collection never got remortgaged. It was only ever explored as a possibility
Simply stunning stuff!

Can someone please tell me the car in 4:05 please.
M16, Indy car, can't remember which one this is, I should be able to ID by the turbo configuration, but at 72 . . .
what did it smell like in there? I bet it smells 98% motorsport haha
If this is McLaren’s, imagine Ferrari version.
Didn't dickie standford work at Williams heritage..
Did. Went to work for Zak at United Autosport, must of bored him for the heritage cars. The man is a legend and was everyone's dad back in the day when he was manager
Ahhh I bet those blueprints smell just lovely
Odd seeing Dickie Stamford in McLaren colours. Thought he worked at United now. Zak moved him across 🤔
Not the “caution wide vehicle” sticker on James hunts car 😂😂😂 what a great joke 😂😂😂
When did Dickie Stanford go to McLaren? Who is in charge of the Williams Heritage Team now?
I don't get why they're still so secretive about the location when it's quite well known where it is...
engine has ford on it at 7:45
Would McLaren have a 1972 Can-Am M20 anywhere in their facilities? I never see that model in any historic races or displays.
Love it dude
Damn this is so much than a car storage!
“Secret” yes.
Do they get a bulk discount on papaya paint? \m/
Well the modern cars use vinyl so I'd imagine they probably get bulk prices on that at least
What a lot of effort to preserve stuff that’s not seen and not used … food for OCD trainspotters.
10 hrs in, 10k views and just now I realise; 100k subs!🎉
Amazing!
How can I visit it by myself?
How many cars did Ron get when he parted with McLaren?
Lolol secret- you mean woking business park, unit 1,2 and 22?
My comment exactly. Worst kept well known secret in motorsport
So "TOP SECRET" that it's even labelled on the unit list on the business park sign visible on Google maps street view 😂😂😂
MTC or otherwise know as PARAGON
Nice one
sick stuff
Amazing
You must have some sticky fingers with all those pies you keep on poking! keep up the quality content
What an experience 🎉
9:20 Piasti has big hips
VERY VERY COOL!!!!!!!!!!
When did dickie Stanford start working for McLaren, frank will be spinning in his grave 😂
Is the design of the 2007 Ferrari there too? 😅😅😅😅
When did Dickie Stanford leave Williams?
2019. He was hired by United Autosports for their historic race car collection at the end of 2020.
3 years to make a 10min vid?
Show us more !!!!
Can you show B roll or anything whatsoever?
Many people would love to watch it, even if there isn't a polished storyline or flashy editing
Have shown everything I was allowed to!
I can imagine that warehouse smells of rubber and petrol
And it was glorious
I didn't see any secret in this video honestly
Droorings?! WTF
Since when does Dickie work for Mclaren?!
I thought the same thing. Strange to see this Williams man in a McLaren shirt?
He doesn't work for McLaren directly. After leaving Williams Heritage, Dickie was hired by Zak Brown as "Historic Motorsport Project Manager" at United Autosports.
MP 4/7!!!!!
Do williams heritage next ! ;)
I know where this is 😉
Plenty do. No idea why they try to make out like it's top secret
HOLY SHIT!!!!
🇧🇷
Senna
