I can see why that would be a hard investment for him. Yes, McLaren is very competitive in Formula 1, but they still have work to do in IndyCar. Are they competitive, yes. Are they championship contenders, at the moment no. So they need to build on that I think.
Plus, it’s not about just buying charters. It’s buying or building a shop for that NASCAR effort. It’s hiring people for that effort. That’s a lot to invest, and also it’s going to take time to find the right people for it. Like in any form of racing, most of the highly sought people are already hired.
Plus, you don’t want to spread yourself too thin. When McLaren started the down spiral after 2012. You could point at the road car program as a reason. Zak isn’t about to go down that road again with McLaren.

I think part of that is never having a driver or team that I could really connect with and become a major fan for the way Hendrick Motorsports and Jeff Gordon did when I was a kid. Best interviewer on TV! Jr. gets more out of guests than anyone, and brings the viewer right into the room. Dale could interview the village dog catcher and make it fun, funny, and interesting. This was an excellent show; what a success story this self-made Zak shared.

First time I saw Zak Brown, I wondered how an American became the head of McLaren racing. Just a great story. I too, used to go to Riverside in it's best years. Also the Long Beach Grand Prix from the beginning.

I spent my career in sales/customer management and when you spot a real deal shark? you know it. Zac is a star - So Question I'd ask Zac if I saw him is, Why the hell haven't you closed a Netflix deal for Indy???

The first two seasons of 100 Days to Indy are on Netflix. I wouldnt be surprised if they do a full season series with them in the future

Listening in from Reading Berkshire in England. As a kid I was a number 3 fan and when I could catch any footage of nascar over here was always looking for your results. Loved this interview. In the 80’s dad raced Honda ATC’s and they did a race in the infield of BRANDS HATCH just before the F1 race, we got to see the great Senna race in his early days. Take Zack’s offer up and go watch F1, highly recommend Silverstone

I think IndyCar has to find a way to expose their drivers and humanize them more, just like what they doing here with Zak Brown. I never heard of this guy before today but he's very interesting. I think IndyCar needs to get their drivers more exposure to show their Personalities !

Indy should return to an 11 or 1130 am start time so facilitate more double contenders.
