Ben you legend. Fifty year old F1 fan here. This video is absolute adult content for me. In 80 or 81 I begged my parents for a tyrell P34 6 wheeler model. They didn't want to get it because of my age but I finished it. Even down to cutting the bronze mesh for the air intakes. Thanks mate. Just the depth of those rims and the way teams were allowed to find the limit. Not now. It's sad. Design within tolerances which ensures no advancement! And you are THE best stig by far! Having to wait until 7:30 every Tuesday was special
As a race enthusiast from Quebec it gave me chills to know that you were a fan of Gilles Villeneuve. Not only is he our national hero but I personally believe no driver was or ever will be as spectacular as him. Salut Gilles
It's not a surprise, really. Check out some of his onboard footage in his Ferrari days where he's adjusting the brake bias while still going flat out, especially at Monaco you can see he's working with brake bias lever in his Ferrari, the man was built different.
Then you never knew Michael. He spent time with all the mechanics, knew all of their names and precisely told them as he wants the car and also helped with the development of some of the cars behavior... He was a racer trough and trough...
@@claudioschumi87there was a video I was watching earlier, I think it was Ben's two parter with Wilman maybe. They were talking about meeting Schumacher. They were listening to car audio, and one driver on lap 60 is absolutely worn out. Schumacher then comes on and is just calmly talking about what might be storm clouds forming over the back straight. Like he's just tooling down the motorway.
Well I mean nowadays in f1 and even f2 all the drivers do multiple changes per corner and it’s gotten so complex that they can have preset settings for various different corners
MANY many years ago, they did a Ferrari Clienti day at Willow Springs of all places. I was at The Streets of Willow with my dad doing a POC day so I defected over to drool. There were a few F1 cars lapping, one being the last 12. That thing going around Willow... SO MUCH SCREAMING V12 noise omg. Also, there was a F50 GT1 that did laps. So rad.
Through the video Filippo warmed to Ben and understood that Ben really likes these cars there was a connection there that developed and that is fun to see. The whole steering wheel bit though was hilarious, Ben clearly wanted to hold it but Filippo was holding it and pointing at things and Ben just wanted to grab it and hold it. Great Vid though, thanks so much for it.
Ah you missed my favourite - the 1995 412T2. I remember watching it around Monaco on Tv when Berger finished 3rd. Alesi was sliding it around Sainte Devote. Even though those old TVs, the sound of that V12 powering up the hill - WOW! Everyone else had V8 and V10s that year. Ferrari stuck it out with the V12. I'm glad they did.
They were close to actually running it for 96 in the Ferrari F310, Michael was so impressed with Ferrari 412T2 and the V12, they almost decided to use it for 96 but instead chose the engineer the V10 engines instead.
To say that I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, would be an understatement. Absolutely wonderful to see so much history and engineering through the ages of F1.
Thanks for the F1 TOUR AND HISTORY, and the scenes with Michael Schumacher were appreciated. What a bright candle he was in the F1 scene. I would love to see him rise from his present situation, thoughts and prayers sir.👍🏼👍🏼
Ben, I'm a Ferrari nut and the only thing I can say is huge thanks for doing this for all of us. I wish Niki's 312T had been there, as that car is where it all started for me. Thanks again, Rob.
Thank you, Ben, for this awesome video. Your content just gets better and better! I can definitely see the fan boy in you whenever you talk about Ferrari, I think it's in all of us, tifosi, as soon as we see a red car we hope it's a Ferrari so we can marvel the beauty and remember our fond memories of this special brand. This has to be one of my favourite videos on your channel so far! Kerp up the awesome work. 😊
Ben wish I could go with you the next visit one of these amazing garages you visited in the last months. As a big petrolhead and big biker lover I cant get enought of anything connected with petrol. Hello from Slovenia 🇸🇮
David Lee has a Shumacher car parked amongst his road cars. He can participate in the Corsa Cliente program if he wants but he keeps it at home. He misses out on maintenance and transport to the event. The XX clients can take the car home also, but it's more sensible to let the factory bear the burden. You couldn't even start the F1 without a laptop and special software, and a portable circulatory heater to preheat the tight tolerance engine.
I Have been in that building and its incredible ! Very lucky to have a full tour of the facility earlier this year ..something I will never forget ! Downstairs is even better ! Expect Le Mans winning hyper cars …Fxx customer cars trophy’s ..it’s the newest building on the Ferrari campus. The foundry engine shop production line were amazing as well as the separate F1 building …the F1 bays were incredible. A once in a lifetime opportunity…looking forward to part two
Excellent content Ben, you're really proving to be a brilliant presenter! Questionable choice for sponsor though, and I hope you'll look more into their shady business.
21:56 I will explain the "saw tooth" cut on the front wing. The "this is there to influence/clean the airflow as much as possible" answer can be very frustrating as it doesn't explain anything to anyone. By designing that saw tooth cut on the front wing's trailing edge, you are allowing the high pressure flow of the top section of the wing to mix with the low pressure flow of the bottom section of the wing, thereby creating a vortex. By deciding the shape and the position of that cut, you can decide the strength and the position of said vortex. In this case, its function should be to keep dirty/turbulent flow from the front tyre's wake away from the bargeboard area. Unlike what Mr. Petrucci said, the floor and the diffuser DO produce drag. That drag is less than the equivalent downforce from a wing, but it does exist. As an example, when Williams were purposely stalling their diffuser with active suspension in 92 and 93, they were gaining several km/h at the end of most straights.
I’ll never forget that famous American GP at Indy, when all the teams except for Ferrari and, someone else, simply entered the pits after the formation lap because of issues with the tires not handling the loads coming off of… was it turn 11. Onto the main straight. Obviously, it must have been the Michelin tires that were failing.
17:36 The cameraman really missed a golden opportunity to show a visualise the steering wheel or shoot from the top to show which dials on that specific wheel are used in combination

In the end i went with NHS Talking Therapies which is FREE here in the UK and a superb life saving service.
