They are actually the indigenous ppl of Singapore, living off the estuaries of Seletar. The last remaining of them who wish to keep their sea nomad lives were resettled to strait of Johore jointly by LKY & Johore government in the seventies

If they are capable, they build their own kelong and do something with their Bumi status. Farm your own fish, what's there to catch?

Consider replacing the causeway with an elevated bridge to allow expanded waterway for fishing. The Tekong land reclamation is also partly the reason for impacting water quality.

Pls lor, before you comment about Tekong, you go see their downtown JB how much land is reclaimed. The idiocy of it all, Malaysia so much land, they reclaim such a narrow strip to make the water more sick.

      Before even thinking of brigde
First you have to educated people not to dam rubbish into the sea
Always can see rubbish swapped to our Singapore shore after we have done shore cleaning.

The ending of an age for the Orang Seletar, and the beginning of another. Unfortunately, by force. For sake of sea life presently, please stop fishing a depleted population. The rebound will be hard for them, too.
