TALENT! Talent TALENT! That is 99.9 percent of it. This guy has talent comming out of his jammies! You can have the best rig in the world and if your fingers don't gel with your heart, it's a bunch of noise! Great job.
Glee9: I have probably watched all of your videos. You are such a fine musician. Thank you for the great posts, and best of luck to you. You are a very talented man.
you should submit your videos to Line 6 - I have been a BIG fan of theirs due to my wonderful experience with my POD X3, and your videos have made me an even bigger fan of the company's products!
It doesn't matter if he's playing too hard. All that matters is that it sounds awesome! Nice job glee, I like the bass in the background, kind of like some sort of samba or something.
A little Scar Face for inspiration? Nice:) The guitar and your playing sounds really good! I'm looking to pick a variax up myself. Nice job. A little reminiscent of Santana and Paul Gilbert mixed in .
This cat really IS playing and doing a damn fine job of it. And it goes to show what you can do with some average equpment when you have got talent to play the guitar. Keep on jammin' glee9!!! U Rock!!!
Hey Jubitttib, The difference in the neck is this... The 700 had a maple neck with rosewood fretboard with a 10" radius. The 600 has a maple neck with a 9.5" radius meant to feel more like a vintage strat. Both have Medium profile frets. I have always had an affinity for maple necks on my Tele's and Strat's so the 600 was a natural choice for me. Not to mention the price jump to the 700.
I don't know for sure but I think the pickup is in the brdge. Since it emulates the sound it really doesn't need pickups located in different parts of the guitar, it just adjust the EQ to make it sound like a bridge pickup or middle pickup or fretboard pickup. I guess that would be cool to emulate electroacoustic sounds and all.
The Variax has onboard electronics that model different guitars/pickups. Strat, Tele, Les Paul Acoustic etc. You can output straight to your amp or us a Toneport interface with a PC or a Line6 Floor Pod. Both the Toneport and the Floor pods give you the ability to model different amp cabs as well as stomp box type effects. I hope that gives you a better idea. FYI the Variax 300 sounds every bit as good as the 600 and 700. The electronics are all the same. I got the 600 for the whammy.
Man your cares what scale or pattern ...it's about note choices NOT what scale or pattern .........it's about Creating a Sound of your own,,,,,,,,,playing with FIRE and Confidence and most of all PASSION,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,GREAT JOB!!!! MAN!!!
The same pickups that are used with semi-acoustic guitars. They're seated under the saddle of the guitar. They basically receive the string vibrations and turn them into electric signals. I think. If someone can explain it better and more correctly, please do correct me.
Seems to me he's playing extremely well and having a great time doing it. Some people seem to have nothing better to do with their time than talk trash about other people on the internet.
@Grefintiuk no creo que te responda es de estados unidos, esta guitarra cambia la afinacion digitalmente como quieras y sus microfonos son del tipo piezo estan en el puente.
im dyin to see zzlong 55 play, he must be a god, we have alot to learn from him. he certainly sounds book smart dazzling us with what key the guy is playin in. cant wait for zz,s video i will check everyday
it is line 6 variax series and it hasnt pickups because it has internal built in preamp means it can get the sound of some gibson models and some fender models and another models from another brands
Thanks for the info. I've been wanting to get one for a long time. Too bad the 700 is so much more expensive, it's the only one that looks like something I could stand watching every day. Strats are supposed to have something between the neck and the bridge. =) The curved topped 700 looks nice even without the pups. Would probably have to buy the 700 and throw in a ESP neck with jumbo frets. Maybe even True Temperaments while I'm at it, lol.
It doesn't. It just picks up the sound with the piezo pickup, processes each string separately (this is where the modeling part comes) and then either sends it digitally through the Variax-cable or converts it back to analog and sends it through a normal jack. No midi used at any point.
Yeah, the main difference between the three is just the build quality and playability, not the sound itself. They all have the same electronics, so the money goes in the woodwork. As we've seen here you can get a good 300, but chances are it's not going to be that great to play. BTW, is the 600 the one with the thinner, faster neck, and the 700 is the thicker one? Might go for the 600 myself if that's the case.
God damn, if this is how this thing sounds just running out of a computer, I'm gonna have to get one. Someone nearby is selling this exact guitar for $250. Guess I can't pass that up.
Can i ask you one thing ? Buy it or not buy it? I love the idea of having different guitars in one, also because i lack the money for many different guitars...
Glee9, Great talent there. Thanks. Thought I 'd send a positive comment in the midst of this negative garbage some clowns are saying ! Hey guys, why not contribute something useful . Don't make this site into a censored one, the world has enough of that stuff already. Tx. G.
hi............um Ive known glee for about 14 years........this is him playing. He is a burning player. Sorry if you think this is faked or not legit. It is legit.......wanna know why? Ive had to sit through him playing like this on so many occasions Ive lost count. He can flat out play. Nearly 25,000 video spins dont happpen by accident. So , enjoy it. Stop hating on it or wondering. He can flat out bring it.

wow man i love your playing, so aggressive yet precise and tasteful. Dig in!
Very cool. I've got the same guitar in red and run it through a spider jam amp. Loads of endless play. Keep rockin.
It doesn't matter if he's playing too hard. All that matters is that it sounds awesome! Nice job glee, I like the bass in the background, kind of like some sort of samba or something.

It has piezo electronics. The signal is processed through the bridge and then goes through an on-board pre-amp and guitar modeler.
yeahhh bro! keep at it?
You make this look like so much fun...I want a Variax!
This cat really IS playing and doing a damn fine job of it. And it goes to show what you can do with some average equpment when you have got talent to play the guitar. Keep on jammin' glee9!!! U Rock!!!
You are very good, I like the sound of the octaves, and the variax sounds very good too, sounds more natural than I think
Brilliant playing. Loved your style.

@meanghost18
They have piezoelectric pickups in the bridge
nice playing and nice guitar
Seems to me he's playing extremely well and having a great time doing it. Some people seem to have nothing better to do with their time than talk trash about other people on the internet.
there is a pickup in the bridge, i am not positive, but i believe it works like a fishman powerbridge or a piezo
Awesome. And what a coincidence. I do all my best playing while watching Scarface too.
You have some very strange strumming and plucking methods... Keep up the awesome playing dude!
Worth watcing. Great playing!!!
@Grefintiuk no creo que te responda es de estados unidos, esta guitarra cambia la afinacion digitalmente como quieras y sus microfonos son del tipo piezo estan en el puente.

Whatever happened to this guy ? Fantastic player
I dunno where he went to. He hasn't posted anything for ages.
Such a shame - he's a really fantastically talented player!!
Nice leads man!
i didn't say it was, i was asking for a comparison to older midi guitars.
It doesn't. It just picks up the sound with the piezo pickup, processes each string separately (this is where the modeling part comes) and then either sends it digitally through the Variax-cable or converts it back to analog and sends it through a normal jack. No midi used at any point.
I've got same pants! Anyway great video.
It has piezo pickups on its bridge.
tocas muy bien.
¿Sabes si se puede cambiar la afinación de esta guitarra digitalmente y que tipo de pastillas usa?
SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND haha

I make custom Variax guitars and I will be putting a lefty Tele on ebay in the next 2 or 3 months with Fralin pickups. Swampash body and Tele neck

Skillz. U has them.
That's one unusual way of holding the pick :-) Wait... actually it's similar to the way Steve Morse holds it. Interesting...

Hi,

Nice work.
"Say hello to my little friend!"
lol at scarface....
do you get tracking problems on the variax like older midi guitars?
What a tv!!You are rich!:P nice btw

Any chance of a key change daddio?
God damn, if this is how this thing sounds just running out of a computer, I'm gonna have to get one. Someone nearby is selling this exact guitar for $250. Guess I can't pass that up.
line 6 kick ass man
Hot, great playing. I have that Variax, but the 600 version, I love it! What guitar setting were you using?
I prefer the lydian, but it's a matter of taste
If you have seen Jeff Millers website checkout his Variax conversions. They will get ya drooling! He makes a 700 look like a Squire!
@Carthsgtr its just because there's no visible pick ups
you kick ass yeah!
i have a variax 500 now and all of my other 11 guitars are full of dust...lol
what scales where you mostly in
the question is.. how do you go 4 months without own a guitar and still play that well?! awesome job man :)
they say its in the bridge
Can i ask you one thing ?
Buy it or not buy it?
I love the idea of having different guitars in one, also because i lack the money for many different guitars...

Hey guys, why not contribute something useful .
Don't make this site into a censored one, the world has enough of that stuff already.
Tx. G.
If only they made these for left-handed players. Apparently Line6 used to make left-handed Variax 500s, but sadly that isn't the case anymore.
