FYI- Enlighten-mint will return in September, and will also be a plant of the week. This means you can unlock and potentially level up enlighten-mint for free without spending any gems by playing Penny’s pursuit when it comes around. Even on the easiest difficulty (level 1 zombies, any half decent strategy should work), you can get enough, but harder difficulties with higher level zombies award more seed packets, mainly for the zomboss rewards. Enlighten-mint does have an ability, it gives x sun when planted down, up to 300 at level 10. Regarding availability of mints, there is obviously no set schedule to feature each power mint once per year or whatnot. Contain-mint hasn’t been available for over a year. Spear-mint will return in 2 days for a whole month with Bamboo Spartan’s arena season.
Fun fact: reinforce-mint's main ability is much better than how it sounds, as it can work with Blower, meaning that if you time it correctly you can wipe out THE WHOLE BOARD (though i'm not sure if it also works with Primal Peashooter) If this sounds familiar for you, is because this isn't new. Spring Bean's plant food had this ability, but they removed it. The fact that they nerfed Spring Bean but didn't do anything with Reinforce-mint shows how much favoritism Popcap has.
omg I swear, pvz comments are so wholesome, people just want to actually give helpful tips and comments and not just to shitpost, I love this community
11:56 The Spikerocks Spear-mint places down don't actually scale in levels with your own Spikerock, rather they scale in level with Spear-mint itself Examples: A level 1 Spear-mint creates Level 5 Spikerocks, a level 5 Spear-mint creates Level 7 Spikerocks and a Level 10 Spear-mint creates Level 10 Spikerocks Also a level 1 Spikerock can't kill a conehead on its own, only basics.
Some things you forgot to mention, Conceal Mint turns all plants that aren't already powered to their powered form. Reinforce-mint works with blover. Though that last one is sort of an oversight on PopCaps end. The rankings for all of these guys are pretty accurate with mine, so yea. Really good video.
The thing that could make enchant-mint better is if it hypnotized more zombies when placed. it only hypnotizes like 2-3 which is some situations can be useful like if there are 2 gargs on the field, but in most it isn't. If they did do that buff, he would be much better in my opinion.
6:57 put it this way Appease-mint requires certain plants to reach max potential Arma-mint can be slapped into any deck and be useful at near-max potential Arma-mint is better
That’s the take I could have taken, but to make things interesting, I find it more enjoyable to rank them as their own entities compared to other Plants
@@SylviaYSI agreed. Not all of them are "overpowered" but all of them can be good in their own way, like you said for me, 5 mints are s tier! Spear mint, Winter mint, Reinforce mint, Enlighten mint, and Ail mint
I’d move Enchant-Mint up to the top of C Tier, mostly due to the synergy that can be obtained with Zoybean Pod. It makes them constantly produce Buckethead Zombies which fight for you, one Bucket could clear a lane of average zombies, let alone a whole entourage of them being produced constantly. Enchant-Mint still in C Tier cuz of the lack of power without Zoybean’s synergy.
@SylviaYSI u wouldn't but I would :D , like bro UR SOO FRICKIN UNDERRATED MY GUY ❤️🔥like one of the few ytbers who I genuinely enjoy ! Keep up the greatcontent 😊

Honestly, I always found how interesting tier lists vary between game modes. Since penny/arena care more about family buffs than when played ability. For example Spearmint being a B\C tier plant in both modes while Enchantmin is like B/A imo. Appeasement being the best mint in both modes as well.
I disagree with the appeasemint take, but yeah, this list would definitely be much different if I had done it in Arena. My only problem is that I don’t want to play arena with plants that I modded in, so I can’t really make a list that’s accurate for that mode 😓
@@SylviaYSI I feel like in arena/penny bosses where dps usually is everything. Appeasemint is one of the only mints that grants all current towers to something over hyperdrive. Aside from a couple large examples, appeasemint stat buffs are just massive.
Well… I had no idea you could shovel up the spikerocks from spear mint. Thanks for letting me know about that. I will most certainly be using that feature in the future
Just one small thing: the explosions arent fully random. They will usually prioritize the largest groups possible, but there’s some wiggle room I there
I personally prefer using arma mint plants since they can counter excavators, that are more dangerous that paraol zombies, and objects like tombstone don't block their projectiles meaning that they will always deal damag to zombies no matter what
I can understand that. However, not hitting tombstones and other grid items can be bad (EX: octopus zombie) I prefer spear-mint myself, as its the best of both worlds.
@@thepizzaman6310 for grid items,i use grave busters, hot potatoes and explosives to destroy them,if it's something like an octopi, well, dusk lobbers for example in large numbers can kill octo zombie before he trow his octo (sometimes)
arma-mint is usually SO good for turkey-pult + sticky bomb rice ( also known as sbr) because turkey can throw higher lvl turkeys (current turkey lvl of the plant + bonus 7 lvl when buffed by mint) + sbr can double the zombie point in arena while it is "throwing the bomb" so ofc it's really weird and broken mechanic to get high score in some of the arena tournaments
The spike mint one is S+ tier for me, for one reason: It can beat the first Ancient Egypt level by itself. So, if you know how to make macros, you could earn 50K money per night. At least that's how it worked a year ago. I don't know if there are ads between levels now or something.
I really don’t understand how it seems like no-one knows this, but all mints and seasonal plants are actually very easy to get regardless of what time it is. If you want enlighten-mint, you don’t need to do all the grinding that Sylvia says in the video, or any of what the pinned comment says. You can and have always been able to go to the almanac, find the plant you want, click “find more,” and then the option to buy enlighten-mint for 100 mints (or any seasonal fermium for 100 gems), no matter what season it is. This is how I got my first mint, reinforce-mint, during bombard-mint season.
Also zombies who are effected from reinforcemint's knockback ability are considered airborn, so blover + reinforcemint can wipeout an entire field when timed correctly
10:00 I get like 20 gems for every zomboss fight i do in pennys pursuit because of the bean sprout now, and i get like 28 gems for completing every daily quest and watching four ads a day, so i now get a daily amount of 50 gems a day

I can truly agree with the tier list since have our own ways on using it just like on conceal mint, its good when your entire deck is just the conceal mint family. As a conceal mint main its funny to spam shadow pea and tile turnip power them with the moon flower then finally buff the peas with the conceal mint to nuke the entire board
The greatest strength of concealmint is you have a full deck that can be powered by it. Spearmint is also strong because while normally you wouldn't have half a deck of spearmint plants, most of them are damage dealers so spearmint can still significantly boost your overall DPS. On the opposite side you have ailmint, strong ability but too few plants that can use it while also being the main DPS of the deck. Same with wintermint, if you don't have the premium plants you are stuck with winter melon as the only plant to do the damage.
I can't seem to edit my original comment, so going to make a new one and hope the right people see it: Enlighten-mint will be avaliable for 100 mints. Not sure atm if this means it will no longer be unlockable with 100 seed packets though. It will also have the normal power mint offers with 25 mints for 25 seed packets and 100 mints for 100 seed packets. It will have gem offers when it is plant of the week: 10 seed packets for 17 gems with purchase cap of 20, 50 seed packets for 75 gems with purchase cap of 10, and 250 seed packets for 350 gems, with a purchase cap of one and if you have spent no money on the game. Overall, this makes enlighten-mint a little bit more accessible since you no longer have to either play the penny's pursuit event or spend gems to get seed packets to unlock/level up enlighten-mint, but both are still valid methods.
3:15 i dont know if anyone has told you this but according to gnvs a pretty realiable source in my eyes said that the enchant mint hypnotises zombies to the left of your lawn (close to your house)
I prefer Spear Mint as the best mainly because although the effects are passive damage, to me the spikerocks summoned are versatile. Because I can either use them as early stage defense or free sun by shovelling them up, I mostly play Penny's Pursuit and don't play Arena that much anyway so, I think spear mint is the best.
In my opinion... Wintermint is the worst because the only free plants it boosts are... Iceberg lettuce and winter melon... And since iceberg is basically an insta it won't do much and winter melon is the ONLY one it really effects Yes there's the premiums but not many of them are THAT useful So yeah I do not like cold triangle
My tier list Worst Enchantmint: exact same reason as YSI Winter mint: the ability can’t do much compared to contain mint and one plant(winter melon) can’t do much Contain mint: the ability is is better. Fila mint: yup. Same reasons AND the fact that like all other plants in the family, it needs a lot of it to be effective. Arma mint: no comment Enlighten-mint: hard to get, no ability, and without tons of sun producers, worthless. Appease-mint: needs a very constructed family on the field to work, but when so, it’s worth it. Conceal-mint: moonflowers, dusk lobbers, nightshades, need I say more? Enforce mint: needs a plant from a separate mint to be useful(imp pear) but if not, the family is ok Ali mint: full screen poison. Bombard mint: several cherry bombs but not full range so yeah Pepper mint: full screen attack, boosting ghost pepper, no more needs to be talked about Spear mint: all the same reasons+ gargantuan stall Re-enforce mint: needs blover for its power but even without it, man. Boosting max level peanuts, blocklis, pumpkins, and buying some time? No more explained. Best
I think you can just buy enlighten mint normally with mint thingys I selected it from the almanack and get buy more or what it was and it gave me the option
Poison kills all armored basic variants because it attacks their HP directly, Bullies just have way more HP and no armor, so they can tank the damage better.
PvZ2 recently allowed mints like enlightenment to be bought with mints won from arena! So now y’all can get a mint in a week or so if you play arena regularly or get high rankings
Ail mint is literally so strong that its biggest weakness is it being too good at cleaning the lawn for the typically close ranged plants that it boosts to actually take good advantage of its boost lol. Especially at low levels.
I chose appeasemint because it's family has the most non-premium plants of any familly (I think) so it's good for people who don't want to spend money, or children, who can't even if they wanted to.
I dont understand for the life of me how someone could rate Enchant Mint so low. I appreciate your feedback, but i take it you dont have the mint pretty high. I've had it on level 10 and it hypnotizes 6 zombies and recovers 100% of their health plus it decreases charge time and restores health when caulipower gets a zombie. Witch hazel charge time lowers and hypno shroom gives 125% health. I hope you revisit it in the future. What level is yours?
spearmint is really a good plant when it can place spike rocks and if you get both of the “25% sun when digging up trophy” you can generate 400+ sun and if your ever in a plan your defense level/ last stand you can use spearmint to generate enough sun to make your perfect defense just make sure you have enough those leafy things (sorry I forgot what’s it called even tho I played it yesterday night).
Worth noting that Spearmint is broken in Boosterama. That's because, due to the Spikerocks being their own plants, they all activate their Plant Food effect at once. Across ALL lanes. Arena becomes a joke with it
Yeah, this video was made before the "Find more" button was broken. You can even buy seasonal plants at any time using it, that's how I got Ghost Pepper
Here's My opinion: I agree with you that Every mint can be good in their own way, but not all of them are "overpowered", and none of them are "bad".I also don't think any families are bad because they all have at least 3 good plants. My list is based on the family it buffs, and what the mints ability is, and how long it lasts on the board. I have a lot of experience in this game, so here's my list. S+ Tier 1. Spear mint: This choice was stupidly easy. First of all, it buffs the best family in the entire game by far, and also the fact that she plants 5+ Spikerocks. The Spikerocks can be a straight upgrade to gold bloom if you have the sun perk thingy and get 600+ sun instantly which is insane! Also I can't forget to mention Pokra, because she is an absolute chaos causer with spear mint on the board. 2. Enlighten mint: Literally can make like thousands of sun in the 5+ seconds it lasts and is op with sun shroom and shine vine so enlighten mint is a very op plant. S Tier 3. Rienforce Mint: The main reason this guy is here is because of his combo with blover. But also he is great with Holly barrier and pushing zombies back even if you don't use blover is still pretty good 4. Winter mint: Now lets talk about what is in my opinion by far the most underrated plant in the game. It's ability is to stall all zombies on screen. That's just okay, but the reason its so high up is because of the Epic family it buffs. Use this mint with like any plant in the family and you have 10+ seconds depending on the level of destruction. I have no idea why people hate on this mint so much, but I would not have beaten the game without this plant. 5. Ail mint: Here is in my opinion the first of the 5 broken mints. Ail mint is almost a screen killer with any zombie except gargauntuars, etc. Also powerful with Goo peashooter. Also it and enchant mint have the longest duration. A Tier 6. Bombard mint: Super powerful ability, basically deleting 3 sections of the board 7. Conceal mint: Powering up all shadow plants is useful for last stand levels. Also the family it buffs is very powerful. And don't forget its great ability to drag a lot of zombies to death. 8. Pepper mint: Good for killing graves and fire plants are really powerful with this guy. 9. Arma mint: Really good ability and Buffing stickybomb rice is broken. B Tier 10. Appease mint: Absolutely terrible ability to shoot 3 "powerful" peas, but buffs a really good family. 11. Fila mint: The family it buffs is decent, but its ability can op if there are like 30+ zombies. C Tier 12. Contain mint: Stunning all zombies is the reason I like this guy. He might not be too useful to buffing stalling plants that do like no damage, but is still a great mint. 13. Enchant mint: Hypnotizing like 3 zombies isn't that good, but sense it lasts the longest with ail mint, Hocus crocus can be pretty insane if you have a lot of them. 14. Enforce mint: His ability is not too good but still he buffs a decent family and is great with Tiger grass, Rhubarbarian, etc. Although he does get the lowest spot
top tier for me its spear mint (if you have that sun chovel trophy) u get early defense for whole lawn or weaker gold bloom (you shovel the spikerocks when u have 50% refund sun when shovel up given plants)
i didnt know enlightenmint was so rare. I guess I got it a couple years ago and came back to the game unaware of how i got it. Cool. I guess i have a rare mint
Making a new comment in case this gets pinned or if anyone sees it: EVERY power mint is now available to be unlocked in the Almanac for 100 mints; It is no longer fully gatekept behind when the plant family is featured in the arena season, but you won’t be able to get more seed packets for each mint.
Reinforce mint and Ail mint should be in S tier, here's why: Reinforce mint knockback effect works with Blover, basically this is a whole-lawn-cleaner. Not to mention the pf buff effect takes Peanut - a damning disappointing plant to a level where it can actually be OP. Ail mint effect, like in the vid, is broken on its own, but works best only for Basic's variations like Conehead, Buckethead and Brickhead, big bad enemies like gargs, bullies and Zcorpion won't die that easy. However, the introduction of Nightcap boosts it to the top floor, as a buffed level 1 Nightcap kills off multiple gargs like nothing.
"Most of you won't have Enlighten-mint" Me after re-downloading the game after years, forgetting most of the new plants' ability and not knowing how I got Enlighten-mint in the first place: 🤷♀️
I would say that B and A shouldn't be separate as A is just the mints who are good alone and B the mints that serve well their intended function, they both excel at different aspects making them equal . S tier mints are straight up bonkers and c tier mints are basically b tier mints but they buff awful (compared to the rest) plant teams.
While that would make sense, I also feel like there’s enough of a difference between each tier, to where I can justify putting them into more then 2 tiers. There’s nuance here, just not a whole lot it seems

Example: if you have lvl 1 filamint it will do 150 single target damage but because of its now infinite chain effect here is how its damage will scale with the zombie numbers
1 zombie = 150 damage

Meaning that filamint can kill a bucket head at lvl 1 as long as there are 5 other bucket heads and with more zombies it can even kill a gargantuar at lvl 1 not to mention it’s family

And since iceberg is basically an insta it won't do much and winter melon is the ONLY one it really effects
Yes there's the premiums but not many of them are THAT useful
So yeah I do not like cold triangle
i mean enchant mint family doesn’t have a single free plant that isn’t an insta sooo
You're right winter mint is one of the most useless mint/plant in every way but not for endless mode
free enchant mints are - tile turnip (unaffected) and hypnoshroom (sucks)@@welkin7321
My tier list
Worst
Enchantmint: exact same reason as YSI
Winter mint: the ability can’t do much compared to contain mint and one plant(winter melon) can’t do much
Contain mint: the ability is is better.
Fila mint: yup. Same reasons AND the fact that like all other plants in the family, it needs a lot of it to be effective.
Arma mint: no comment
Enlighten-mint: hard to get, no ability, and without tons of sun producers, worthless.
Appease-mint: needs a very constructed family on the field to work, but when so, it’s worth it.
Conceal-mint: moonflowers, dusk lobbers, nightshades, need I say more?
Enforce mint: needs a plant from a separate mint to be useful(imp pear) but if not, the family is ok
Ali mint: full screen poison.
Bombard mint: several cherry bombs but not full range so yeah
Pepper mint: full screen attack, boosting ghost pepper, no more needs to be talked about
Spear mint: all the same reasons+ gargantuan stall
Re-enforce mint: needs blover for its power but even without it, man. Boosting max level peanuts, blocklis, pumpkins, and buying some time? No more explained.
Best
The wow bonk choys actually good now almost sent me straight to the comments 😂
I think you can just buy enlighten mint normally with mint thingys I selected it from the almanack and get buy more or what it was and it gave me the option
Im glad i got the spear mint as my first mint (i have apeas mint and bombard mint nd reinforce mint as well)
Bonkchoy was never bad and it is great when paired with a walnut in front
Btw the appease mint ability synergies with torchwood really well making its weak projectiles into gargantuar killing machines using just one plant
Commenting for the algorithm. Great video 👍

If enlightenment mint was easy to get would it be better than spear mint?
Poison kills all armored basic variants because it attacks their HP directly, Bullies just have way more HP and no armor, so they can tank the damage better.
PvZ2 recently allowed mints like enlightenment to be bought with mints won from arena! So now y’all can get a mint in a week or so if you play arena regularly or get high rankings
11:21 I have mostly all the mints except Enlighten-mint and Conceal-mint (it's been a while without a new shadow plant)
Actually, you CAN get enlighten-mint from arena - I got mine there. That season was over two years ago though...
Bro Enlighten-mint was my first mint that I got in PvZ
Was not expecting the only mint I use to he the one you say is the best
And enlightenment is good too
The good thing about enchant mint is it makes caulipower an absolute powerhouse in certain arena levels
keep up the good work on the content.
Fun fact: Conceal-mint powers up every single Conceal-mint plants on the field (basically if every plant of that family got put next to a Moonflower).
Worth noting that Spearmint is broken in Boosterama. That's because, due to the Spikerocks being their own plants, they all activate their Plant Food effect at once. Across ALL lanes. Arena becomes a joke with it
I always loved using spearmint in boosted arena since whenever you use it all the spikerocks also use their plant food ability
I love spear mint and enlighten mint. They were the first mints I ever bought and I'm only 2 more mints away from buying a new one
Nice tierlist, it's very accurate.
11:19 i bought enlighten mint with mints lol
Yeah, this video was made before the "Find more" button was broken. You can even buy seasonal plants at any time using it, that's how I got Ghost Pepper
Here's My opinion: I agree with you that Every mint can be good in their own way, but not all of them are "overpowered", and none of them are "bad".I also don't think any families are bad because they all have at least 3 good plants. My list is based on the family it buffs, and what the mints ability is, and how long it lasts on the board. I have a lot of experience in this game, so here's my list.
S+ Tier
S Tier
3. Rienforce Mint: The main reason this guy is here is because of his combo with blover. But also he is great with Holly barrier and pushing zombies back even if you don't use blover is still pretty good
A Tier
6. Bombard mint: Super powerful ability, basically deleting 3 sections of the board
B Tier
10. Appease mint: Absolutely terrible ability to shoot 3 "powerful" peas, but buffs a really good family.
11. Fila mint: The family it buffs is decent, but its ability can op if there are like 30+ zombies.
C Tier
Reinforcemint knock back works with blover
top tier for me its spear mint (if you have that sun chovel trophy) u get early defense for whole lawn or weaker gold bloom (you shovel the spikerocks when u have 50% refund sun when shovel up given plants)
You might call me crazy but ail-mint got me feeling ways 😳
Bro. I agree 100% w/ ur tier list i also like that my first fav mint is in s tier
In wich it's spear-mint
8:40 the bonk choy disrespect is not going to be tolerated
2:09 man just said “these people need a life” in the most British way possible
i didnt know enlightenmint was so rare. I guess I got it a couple years ago and came back to the game unaware of how i got it. Cool. I guess i have a rare mint
Making a new comment in case this gets pinned or if anyone sees it: EVERY power mint is now available to be unlocked in the Almanac for 100 mints; It is no longer fully gatekept behind when the plant family is featured in the arena season, but you won’t be able to get more seed packets for each mint.
don't forget that when you place a blower before placing Reinforcemint, all pushed zombies get blown off the screen and instakilled
this game is my guilty pleasure because it's so poorly made but the plants are so many
reinforce mint can be comboed with blower for a full screen wipe btw
12:09 I thought lvl 1 had like 80 sec cooldown why can you use it so fast?
Plant food
Reinforce mint and Ail mint should be in S tier, here's why:
Reinforce mint knockback effect works with Blover, basically this is a whole-lawn-cleaner.
Btw if u place a wind flower like the freeze or normal 1 sec before u place reinforcement mint it’ll one shot any zombie it knocks back
"Most of you won't have Enlighten-mint"
Me after re-downloading the game after years, forgetting most of the new plants' ability and not knowing how I got Enlighten-mint in the first place: 🤷♀️
8:43 Bonk choy isn't bad on its own once you level it up a little bit. (I have a lv.17 Bonk choy)
Jokes aside I really liked this video, I felt it was really well made
11:00 so like funny thing this was my first mint and I didn’t have any tough time getting them😂
Would love to see a vine teir list
Reinforcemint, when paired with blover, instantly kills every blow able zombie on the board. Nice little synergy there.
I used it on arena and I got over 2Million points lol
I was planning to skip enlighten mint, but im glad i watched this video, right now its available for 100 mints
I really like enchant-min becuause when he's paired with zoybean pod, it spam summons zombies for your side.
Zackscott games ahh voice😂❤
I think that reinforce-mint should get more credit because of the insane things it can do when paired with blover
There’s nuance here, just not a whole lot it seems
really useful video
What would you recommend to but first out of all of the mints?
contain-mint is really underrated imo with the sap guy since it just freezes anything basically
Reinforce mint + blover = all zombies in the air then blown away (this combo kills everything instantly)
Some mints are better some mints are worse but all mints are broken as f
- every Pvz2 player
It was just added that you can buy any mint in the almanac. Even enlighten mint.
