Run a can of sea foam through your sawmill the last time you use it and it will clean it out, and then let it run out of gas! That’s what I do anyway! I stopped having problems after that!
I love to hear "hey yall it's Megan". I enjoy all of your content. I wish everyone would subscribe to your channel. Its so informative and natural. I really dislike the youtubers that are so rehearsed, it almost seems like they are reading a teleprompter. Yall are natural and so down to earth. Thankyou so much for posting and God Bless you and your family!! Christie, from Georgia.
Great setup for the chickens. A boy and his tractor. Life is good for your children. I hope they will always appreciate how they were raised. Great video. They always are.
Be sure to fish out that old piece of fuel line. When you have time with a piece of coat hanger, the fuel will breakdown that fuel line sent us already old and start clogging up your fuel filter. Great job love y’all.
I have to disagree....that is a fancy green house! 😁 God bless you two and your babies. I cannot begin to tell you how much my wife and i have learned from you two. Her biscuit game is top notch now. Our homestead has improved because of you guy's. BRAVO AND THANK YOU FROM OKLAHOMA!
This is unbelievable...I don't own a tractor, saw mill etc. I do know how to change my air filter in the car but that's it. Yet, here I sit, watching a man I don't know, fix a saw mill that I have never seen, and am completely interested in it all.
That chicken and dumplins got .y mouth watering. Going to make some today. Tomorrow potato soup made with ham hocks. Perfect cold weather supper. Thanks to you both for your excellent content.❤❤
Thanks for the green house update. FYI Andy, our green house regularly gets over 100 degrees on a sunny winter day even if the outside temp. is in the 30s. Looks good.
I love the back and forth between Meagan doing something then breaking back over to Andy. Reminds me of the old tv shows -- but True Grit Appalachian Ways is 1000% better with actually useful information. Thanks.
It’s likely the stale ethanol fuel that “ate” the fuel line off the petcock. Also, you ought to use a “chain saw style” fuel filter inside that tank on the end of the new line. 🤗
Hahahaha we I didn't notice it till you said that! I have a hard time when my hood is on over my head, but I think the camera angle makes it look worse than it really is
I really need to try and make chicken and dumplings. I will be 59 years old this month and I've never eaten them in my whole life. I've only had chicken and noodles.
on your sawmill - used to happen to me all the time and then I started using non-ethanol fuel. some folks call it boat gas - reduced my small engine problems to almost none. I also had one that I had used ethanol fuel and that fuel rotted off the fuel line pickup just like yours. been using boat gas for years and haven't bought a new weedeater or chainsaw since
We covered the run in plastic. We did panels covered in plastic and numbered them so we can unscrew and put them up each winter. It has really helped to keep the run dry. They have a door they can go out if they want. We live in Texas, it is flat and the wind blows in from the north. They have the option. Snow here the other day. They didn’t leave. That 6 mil keeps it at least 20° warmer.
Might go to the regular unleaded gas in the sawmill too since that sets for long periods of time. I do that in all my yard equipment to save on repairs. Great idea on moving the round bale feeder around like you do. Fine looking meal when you get in out of the cold. chicken and dumplings will warm you up too. Stay safe and keep up the fun around there. Fred and family.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👋🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶your thermoter is leaning against the clear siding it may be picking up the heat from that to show alot warmer than it truly is.
Just stopping in to say hey & happy new year to y'all and your family! Also great job Andy and looks delicious Meagan! Thanks for another awesome vlog. Best wishes, Sheri 🌺🌴⛱ stay warm!
Its always great to see yalls content. Me and my fiance loves watching your family. God blessed us with yalls channel. Thank you for sharing. We love yall and God bless ❤
You two are great farmer, remind me of my old uncle farmer that I hung out with every chance I had. Great times enjoy the visit. Snowing here in SC. Nice treat !
Andy, had same problem with fuel line in my side by side several years ago. When I pulled the fuel line it was pure gummy. Switched to non-ethanol, problem solved. As someone else noted, fish that old line out. Love the videos and have a blessed day!
I'm glad you got your sawmill running Andy. It's always a relief when it's a simple fix. Talking about gas, the operator's manual for my Farmall 140 says it's engine was designed to run on regular gas with an octane of 92 or higher. They haven't made gas like that since I was a child. I love that new chicken coop. Jacob reminds me of me driving Grandpa's Cub around the farm when I was growing up. Chicken and dumplings are always a great choice and are one of my sister's specialties. This reminds me of winters when I was growing up back in the 70s. Y'all have a great weekend and stay warm!
love, love, love fluffy dumplings - just like my mom used to make. Cold days are the best for chicken & dumplings. She would often make a pot of sweetened berries or cherries (in a sauce) and put the fluffy dumplings on top for dessert. SO GOOD - cooked while we were having dinner. So quick and easy for a working mom.
I love fluffy dumplings as well. Of course, I will eat the tougher thinner dumplings because chicken n dumplings is my favorite meal I will give them a try but truthfully, my Mama made the fluffy dumplings and that’s what I prefer. No one does it like Mama, right? 😂 RIP Mama! ❤
Meagan, if/when you can find the time, would you be interested enough to do a video of you skinning animal hides? I'd love to see you do that ever since you had the video of you tacking them on your barn. Wonder if anyone else would like to see you do it..
Hey guys Just found your channel and I absolutely love it, the first one I saw was the butchering of the hogs and that’s how I grew up, the only difference is we sold in our Hams in a salt box before we hung them. Also, in the smokehouse we hung our stuffed pork sausage on plastic pipes to air dry, we made two different recipes, one for my dad and I which was hot and one for my mom and my other two brothers. Love the channel brings back so many memories. The only thing that amazes me is how your Kabota handle those bales of hay
You can run Sta-bil in your gas yesr around.,. Just mix it into a 5 gal gas can and you're good to go... I have left gas sit for 2 years and it was still good...Love your channel and God bless !!!
Love the way y’all work as a team me and my husband always was together doing everything from our home work to our bbq restaurant that was some of the best time
❤ north Florida temps is dropping in the 30s but I LOVE IT!!! Im ready to have seasons and not jump over the seasons.I havent had chicken dumplings in a while.😋
Tiger is a great dog..mountain curs always are..I'm digging that sawmill..gonna have to get one..just had chicken n dumplings myself! Good video y'all !!
For my greenhouse, I used the govee thermometer where I can monitor it from my phone. I placed the thermometer from the middle of the greenhouse hanging down. It capture the temp the best.
When I used my hoop greenhouse for winter, I used a wireless temp sensor to monitor the temp from the house and set the temp on the heater to 45 deg. Even peppers did fine (I didn't get a large production because of light) but nothing died. I would have to vent the house on some warmer sunny days, outside could be 40-50 and inside could raise to 100+.
Hey! It’s Friday night at 6:40 and it’s been snowing like crazy since 3:00. We already had about 6 or 7 inches. This is the most snow we’ve had in years. Maybe it’ll bring our water table back up where it should be. Ohio had a drought this last summer. I’d go sledding if I was younger! Blessings! ❤
I've never had chicken and dumplings but it definitely looks good. I won't use fuel with ethanol because of the gumming problems in small engines, although we have ethanol free alternatives still. Your petrol conditioner will help during the down times.
My chickens wouldn’t even come out today, be there was snow.. part of their run area is just covered with like a poultry fencing to keep Hawks out, but there’s snow in that area and they wouldn’t even go out there either. Which is fine with me. I wouldn’t want my feet in that cold stuff either. Are y’all expecting snow too? Blessings from TN❤
You guys make me wish I was in my 30’s again! Such a wonderful family full of love, living life the way it is supposed to be lived. Good job on the sawmill Andy! You are just like me, fixing everything yourself.
Yeah, we have had a lot of issues with the ethanol gas eating our rubber seals & such if we use it in our small engines. For a while we didn't have a choice because we couldn't get regular gas in our area. I do know that my mom's stock 67' Mustang runs 100% better on the regular. We like the drop dumplings also. Dinner looks yummy! You guys stay warm.
Hey buddy, I would have gotten a piece of electric fence wire and put a hook in the end of it and fished that piece of fuel hose out. It could have a filter on the end of it, plus the hose could break down and the residue gum up the fuel system over time.
We make the same kind of chicken and dumplings as you. Only difference is after adding the dumplings we leave the lid off for ten minutes then ten minutes with the lid on
Hey yall we have about 3 inches of snow here in Central ALABAMA which only happens every several years from what I see on the radar yall are going to get a lot more than that hope you have a lot of firewood be safe
Thanks for showing you trouble shooting the fuel problem with the saw mill. It helped me remember how to do that. with not doing it all the time it helps to see someone do it.
21:36 we've gotten to where we turn our chicken pot pie into chicken pot pie & dumplings. We use our recipe for the filling, turn it into a soup form, & then sub the pie crust for dumplings. So delicious!
You both remind me of my parents who had a homestead down in Southwest Missouri. My mom passed in October 2020 and my dad just past the Thursday before this last Thanksgiving. I enjoy watching y'all. But it it definitely is a little bittersweet as it brings back good memories of my parents🥲Thanks for keeping yor channel going!👍❤️
Y'all have done another hard days work so it's time for some of those delicious chicken dumplings. Eat, rest and stay warm. Thanks for this interesting video. God Bless you and your family

it was the old chicken house that was sitting where our new coop is, we have been using it for a brooder house for chicks when we have them

Might want to add a little sea foam to your gas, most of all on the last tank. Store it with sea foam too. Nice video guys.
I love your greenhouse. I'm thinking I'll get one like yours built before next winter.
I truly enjoy everone of your videos.

Hi Meagan🙋🏼♀️would love to see you drive a tractor one day😁
I use a staple gun to put up my plastic, might save you some time.Thank you for sharing your day❤❤
I've never had chicken and dumplings but it definitely looks good.
I won't use fuel with ethanol because of the gumming problems in small engines, although we have ethanol free alternatives still. Your petrol conditioner will help during the down times.
It’s been cold here in WV. VERY COLD. Y’all stay warm!

Good video. My mom used to make big fluffy dumplings. They were so good.
Ya know when your son loves riding a tractor he was born to be a farmer!😹
Hey buddy, I would have gotten a piece of electric fence wire and put a hook in the end of it and fished that piece of fuel hose out. It could have a filter on the end of it, plus the hose could break down and the residue gum up the fuel system over time.
Glad you got your sawmill running and it wasn't nothing major wrong with it. Those chicken and dumplings look delicious! Love your videos!
We make the same kind of chicken and dumplings as you. Only difference is after adding the dumplings we leave the lid off for ten minutes then ten minutes with the lid on

Throw some Seafoam in that saw motor. It'll dissolve that ethanol and get that motor running right.
