@@MiaintheMoment I guarantee you've heard a lot more, too. "What's Goin' On?" "Let's Get It On" "It Takes Two," "You're All I Need." So many classics. 🥰
Wow! Your selection of music to react to is just as Beautiful as you are Ms. Mia❤ Your understanding of this song shows how much of a Woman you are. Keep the classic coming!
Marvin Gaye and Teddy Pendergrass have birthed a whole generation. You need to check out Teddy Pendergrass’ live performance of Turn Off the Lights. There aren’t many who could sing it like Teddy!
I grew up listening to Marvin Gaye. Enjoyed his music. When he was starting out at "Motown Records" he was a duet with a talented vocalist named Tammi Terrell. Unfortunately during a concert she collapsed in Marvin Gaye's arms. Later she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She succumbed to this terrible disease. This was a diffucult time for Marvin Gaye in his life and career. They were fantastic together and I believe they would of been one of the best duets in music history. There's a video of them -Doc | Rudy singing a song "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". It captures how wonderful they were together as a duet. If you get a chance, try one of these songs by Carlos Santana. "Smoothe" or "Oye Como Va". You might find them entertaining. ✌️
Just stumbled on this reaction. Marvin Gaye was a flippin' Ledged. R&B Soul. Al Green is/was top tier music too. This is music I grew up listening to, along with DMX, GnR, Michael Jackson etc.
As a kid growing up in Kentucky in the late '60s and early '70s, it was *really tough* to find a radio station that actually played rock music. When the weather was right, we could get a station out of Gary, Indiana, that played Top 40 rock hits, but the signal was pretty bad. The best we could get on most days was an R&B station, and my mom listened to it a lot, so I grew up with Marvin Gaye, and Smokey Robinson, and Diana Ross and Gladys Knight and Dionne Warwick. I didn't actually hear a whole lot of rock until after we moved to Colorado in the mid 1970s. I was pretty much hooked after that, though.
The days we used to carry our girlfriends books home after school, and we danced cheek 2 cheek!! When TALENT counted more than TECHNOLOGY!! Ahhhh the memories!! #StoneColdClassic🔥🔥💯
Marvin is still considered a master of spicy soul music. I feel pretty sure a lot of R&B singers who came later heard his songs growing up. I’m not so aware of current trends but am not surprised if today’s tracks overdo it. Everything always gets pushed farther and farther out. But these classic stars didn’t need to.
The whole vibe of this song fits you and your channel so well, and i don’t mean that in a weird way. Its just so smooth, and the energy you give off is the same 😅🔥
The older generation was young once, too. That's how we're all here. When this song comes on in my house, boots start knocking. My wifes favorite song ALL TIME. Boys get better with words when they become men some never grow up. Men are dogs some just get slick with it like Marvin Gaye.
If you like more Marvin Gaye R&B songs check out Come Live With Me Angel, After The Dance, I Want You, and You Sure Love To Ball are some great ones to listen to. There is more but I don’t want to overload you. The stuff he says is what I believe as a man that women want to hear when you talk to them.
This is the first song I could remember hearing in which sexuality was spoken of in such an open manner. Heard others where it was done so subliminally. Marvin Gaye had another song that did not mention the word sexual, but was along the same lines which is 'Let's Get It On.' Another artist you might be interested in reacting to is Barry White, who had some very romantic songs. Both Marvin and Barry were both great vocalists.
Marvin Gaye is a legend. "Let's Get It On" is a similar classic from him. You might like "Shake You Down", by Gregory Abbott too. If you want more, check out Bobby Brown and Jodeci (a group) for some more late 80s early 90s r&b.
GO BLUE! and besides her beauty, i now know why I like her. She has great taste both in music and teams. see you are looking it from a modern point of view where your view of "sexy" is very different. It's sensual sexuality that's Marvin Gaye's whole point when he does these types of songs. I mean the fact he could even get to this mental state after losing his muse and soulmate at a younger age than he was in this video is a godsend. between this and "Let's Get It On" id have to say the baby population exploded by at least an easy 5-10 million when each song was released. The man is an absolute legend.
Marvin gay has a lot of awesome songs I used to listen to him when I was your age, maybe a little younger but his music was always great to listen too his generation and other artists lead to all kinds of music 🎶 🎵 ❤
Marvin Gaye had a ton of hits. These are some: Ain't No Mountain High Enough (duet with Tammi Terrell), I Heard It Through The Grapevine, What's Going On?, Mercy Mercy Me, Let's Get It On
You should see a young marvin performing Whats Goin on/whats happening brother" live in 1972. This is him at a younger age playing the piano and looking dapper in his suite. Hes the greateat soul singer ever in my opion. Lets see do you think hes handsome! The band is incredible and the legendary bassist james Jamerson. Its at least about 9 minutes long. The message still is revelant today about 50 years later!🥰😘
Yess!!! Mia Babygirl 🥰😍 The Prince Of Soul Mr Marvin Gaye. He's My Favorite Singer Performer Besides Michael Jackson.RIP Both 🙏 🙏 🕊️ 🕊️. "Sexual Healing" Definitely One of my Favorite Marvin Gaye Songs. Also Check Out: "Let's Get It On" "I Want You" "After the Dance" "Distant Lover" "Inner City Blues" "What's Going On"
When you get the chance, try and check out Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell Ain't No Mountain High or Quincy Jones Secret Garden which is sung by Al B. Sure, James Ingram, El Debarge & Barry White.
You gotta realize that back then, to even mention sex in a song was taboo. This was extremely controversial at the time, and paved the way for other songs to talk about it in the 80s too. And then came the 90s and 00s, lol. If you wanna see some music that is in this same vein, check out some Prince! I bet you'll love him.
Great reaction. Love seeing these reactions to grown folk music. Highly recommend You Are My Lady by Freddie Jackson and If I Ever Fall in Love by Shai, but gotta be acapella.
She's too adorable but I love it you'd be surprised gorgeous parents had babies to Marvin Gaye that's how good he was before there was Keith sweat and r Kelly it was my man Marvin Gaye❤
This song was released in 1982. Yes, Baby Boomers were once your age. We were getting it on then as well my dear. We were hot, single and loved to mingle! It was no internet dating back then and much safer! I read a comment on this song that mentioned Luther Vandross, please react to his live performance at Webley in London. The song is “superstar”. Great performance, great song! Check out Teddy Pendergrass’ “Turn out the Lights” as well”. His live version is great from one of his Ladies only concerts. He was one of the first to get panties thrown on stage!
Steel Panther - "If You Really Really Love Me" they are a parody band of 80s glam metal bands. They are very comedic and have great instrumentation, all members are very talented, definitely worth a listen!
Yes, Motown is great. The ladies love Marvin Gaye. I'm not from Michigan, I'm from Minnesota. Let's get some Prince. The live version of "The Question of U" and "The Ride" are songs the ladies like as well.
Can you plz react to Patty labelle and Michael mcdonald. On MY Own also Michael Mvcdonald. I keep forgetting were not in luv any more. I think you would luv it smooth old school jam

As a millennial, what our generation lacks today is the ability to be sensual and seductive without going overboard lol.
so true
I think you mean what we call " class" or " smooth style ".
Marvin Gaye is an absolute legend. The guy made music that'll be licensed in movies and television forever, because it's so iconic and evergreen.
so far with this one song I totally agree I know I have heard it in so many movies tv commercials

teddy still had shows that he doesnt let men into up to the very end for a reason.
Marvin Gay is in the uppermost tier of creativity and intelligence. Soulful and Introspective.
The "me too" killed all that.
Marvin Gaye was at the foundation of funk and soul, lovers roll. Nothing to get weird about, just natural feelings.

Good reaction
Thank you for posting.
Marvin Gaye - try "What's Going On?" next, please. Great reaction, Mia! 🎶🎹🎤🖤
Its sad that we can't hear anymore of his music. This man knew how to put the romance in his music.

This song also helped me in high school with catholic school girls in the early 2000s. Isley brothers also helped keep me out of the friend zone

It was such a great tune that it was used as a sample in Keith Sweat's Twisted. That is a really good R and B tune on its own.
Shout out to Keith Sweat and @overandoutchief1 for knowing facts

Classic song. It’s like one of the ultimate “Role-playing” songs. I’m the patient as a man, and the woman is the doctor! I love it.
That song made so many babies…. I can remember this song playing in a party and every woman was dancing with a man….
He did another song like this in the early 70's, LET'S GET IT ON
Let’s take this back to Motown!! Steve wonder, Dian Ross, the temptations. The Jackson 5. What a great era of music!!
