  • Was debating whether to upload this video or not cause it was a little shaky (sorry about that), but decided to upload anyway so hopefully you don't mind the shakiness.
    Otherwise, thank you for 100 Subs!!! I didn't think anyone would actually want to watch my videos so it came as a great surprise when I saw my subscriber count haha. As my promise to you, I will try my best in the future to give you better videos. I recently bought a new camera so I'm hoping to have better quality video (although still getting used to it). Thanks again for subscribing!

      Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! When I made my first videos I was afraid my voice was too awkward but comments like yours definitely make me feel more confident!

    This is a really helpful video for me! I'm living in Idaho and planning on moving to Seattle in about a year for school and so I've been looking for places around the 2k range. Great video! Keep up the good work 👍👍

    Well done! That view of the waterfront is great. This apartment has a loft feel, with that open bedroom & exposed pipes, while also having that European look. I'm not a fan of dark cabinets either, but in this case, I think they provide a nice contrast.

      Thanks! And I also really enjoyed the waterfront view. It would be great on a sunny day.

    Murphy beds are excellent for apartments like this. Just fold the bed up in the morning and BAM!

    I moved to Seattle 5 months ago. Burned out abandones cars, homeless meth heads, prices through the roof. And I'm in the nice section of North Seattle. Not staying. I'm moving back to the East coast where I can leave my apartment without a taser.

    • @Chris_jae
      @Chris_jae  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I think the rapid growth of tech jobs in the area caused a bit of that. Raised prices and forced people out of homes. To be honest, I wish it wasn’t as bad as it is and politicians would actually help but I doubt it’ll change anytime soon

      I don’t blame you, and I am sorry that it didn’t work out. I was born and raised here, and the city Seattle has become is not the one I grew up in. Things were already getting bad before the pandemic, and now they’re deplorable. It’s not *all* bad, but it’s bad enough. I used to love going to the library, but not anymore….

      My family first arrived in the late 1800s. I am the first to pull the eject lever and GTFO because of the reasons you state. I"m sorry it did not work out for you. I get it. Not acceptable to live like this.

    Hey, so I been wanting to move to Seattle from LA but I’m looking for a roommate! Do you have an suggestions on where to start looking for one?

    • @Chris_jae
      @Chris_jae  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! My first advice is if you're moving here for work or school then definitely try to find out if there is an internal group of people also looking for roommates. I know UW has a FB group and many companies have their own groups for people trying to find roommates. If you're moving here but not for work or school then you can actually ask some of the apartments you're interested in if they have people interested in having roommates. I know some larger apartments can help pair you with someone. There are also facebook groups for people trying to find roommates, but I prefer looking for people attending the same school or work.

    Typically, we don't refer to Puget Sound as "The Ocean".

    • @Chris_jae
      @Chris_jae  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, excuse my cringe. I’ve since learned not to say that lol

    • @user-gq2vn1xj2r
      @user-gq2vn1xj2r 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not cringe. My neighbor who has lived here for 20 years still does and tells me to shutup.

    0:39 “Today we’ll be looking at a 900 sqft apartment with ocean views.” Well, not quite. The ocean is 100 miles away. It has Puget Sound views, but not ocean views.
    1:51 “There’s nothing super special about this bathroom, but there’s also nothing wrong with it.” That’s probably a matter of opinion. For me, the lack of a bath towel bar is a problem-I prefer that to the pegs that this bathroom has. Also, the hand towel bar is mounted low, and the light switch is behind it, which is odd. But the big problem with this bathroom is that the vanity lacks drawers. I’d be willing to look past it if it had a medicine cabinet, but without either one I’d have all my stuff spread out all over the counter. But that’s just me.
    Overall, I think this unit is a great value considering the size and that it has a view of the sound, but the bijou kitchen, concrete ceilings, and absent bathroom fixtures would be deal killers for me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @Chris_jae
      @Chris_jae  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha true! I keep calling it the ocean and people at work always have to correct me. Also good call out for the bathroom! I didn’t actually notice the hand towel rack and how the light switch was behind it. Definitely an odd design choice. And the odd thing about concrete ceilings is that many buildings try to use it as a selling point lol. But to each their own I guess haha

      @drewconway7135 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Chris_jae I had concrete ceilings when I lived Downtown. I hated it-made the ceiling feel lower. Though it was nice not hearing the upstairs neighbors. Later I moved into a different unit in the same building, and the ceilings were white. Still concrete and steel-frame construction, but they actually finished the ceilings.
