    I like it. I think the headlight looks better in real life than on camera.
    Many 1250 owners are struggling to adapt to the 1300, I kind of see why when its such a massive change from the ground up compared to the old one... Its all postive moves forward in my eyes being lighter (ish) and easier to chuck around.
    I have done a couple of reviews down that lane. Blimming knitemare I had in the summer with the holiday makers causing gridlock. Nice video well done.

      Fully agree with you ER. It’s such a big change from the outgoing model, but it’s a better bike, looks waaaay sharper and more modern. It’ll look brilliant down the local Starbucks and I reckon it’ll be great down Devon’s green lanes and back roads.

    That's my favourite little spot. I'm used to the headlight now 😅 we all know you're gonna get one 😊

      Yes, it’s a great little area to go a relax. Agreed. The headlight is cool. Don’t be so sure that I’ll get one. Although you’re probably right 😂

    Nice video! I am also in for a trophy, to be delivered this month..... The start-up at approx 2:30 seems quite often to happen with this new Litium battery...... (looking at a German GS forum). Greetings from the Netherlands!

    Nice review marc, as a 6'2 average height rider i found i was bent over the bars when up on the pegs was way more than my 1250,1200. Maybe with bar risers it would sort the uncomfy back posture....But i guess theres not too many of us who TET daily on the GS !!

    • @EpicMotorcycleAdventures
      @EpicMotorcycleAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Roger. Bar risers should help. I’ve seen there’s “high” handlebars in the configurator, they could also be an option.

    Thanks for the video! The headlight is hideous. Saving weight is just part of the explanation. New regulations forced the discontinuation of the assimetric headlights. A pity for sure. BMW could have achieved the weight savings with a better design. I expect future models to have a better one.

    I was planning to test ride one on Saturday but was having second thoughts because of the weather forecast. But now I'm ashamed due to you riding in that wet...
    I've never ridden any kind of GS before. Peaky Biker said he really didn't like the new one.

      I ride in any weather, on or off road. I think the 1300 is a better bike than the 1250 and the 1200 before it

    The Trophy is a paint job, nothing more offroad focused about it, except you can't get it with cast wheels, at least here in the U.S.

    • @EpicMotorcycleAdventures
      @EpicMotorcycleAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know it’s technically just a paint job, but then I’d deck it out with the sports suspension and enduro package and I’d keep the spoked wheels.

    I’m currently riding a Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak which I really do find almost tractorish and clunky at times, especially the gearbox; not sure if you’ve ridden one? How did you find the general running and smoothness of the bike and what was the gearbox like?

    • @EpicMotorcycleAdventures
      @EpicMotorcycleAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve rode a Panigale V4S so I have an understanding of engine but not of your Pikes Peak. The 1300 is a step forward from the 1250. The gearbox feels so much better. But it’s still a boxer engine. You’re never going to get a silky smooth feeling from it like you would an in-line 4. I’d definitely recommend a test ride if you’re curious about the 1300

  • @TheDervMan
    @TheDervMan ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I currently have a 1250 GS, I’ve always loved the presence of the GS. I really don’t like the front of this bike, nothing to do with asymmetry, it’s plain ugly. The slab of black plastic where the front radar is located doesn’t help either. I was at my local dealer yesterday looking at it and the screen can be lowered a little to help disguise it. Mine is due for a change next year and I can’t see myself getting a 1300. Sad times as I’ve always loved the GS but I guess that’s the point, BMW want/need to attract younger customers.

    • @EpicMotorcycleAdventures
      @EpicMotorcycleAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the look of the front. The radar thing doesn’t bother me as I’d run the small tinted rally screen if I had one. It’s definitely a step forward and I reckon they’ll sell loads.

      @@EpicMotorcycleAdventures I think if you are touring the 1250 might still edge it with comfort, but the 1300 is broader capable bike that has a sportier edge, definitely aimed at the younger rider

    • @EpicMotorcycleAdventures
      @EpicMotorcycleAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @simonfoster1153 I think it’s a wise marketing move to chase younger customers, all the other manufacturers do by having sportier adventure bikes.

    Sold! To that man! 😂 You just can't help yourself, that was pretty close to greenlaning!,😁 So what are the models? Is the Trophy the 'trailie'? I'm glad that you'd go for the blue, that black looks pretty bland and uninteresting to my taste. Every writeup that I've seen so far has been pretty positive, should sell well I'd have thought. 👌

    • @EpicMotorcycleAdventures
      @EpicMotorcycleAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As close to green laning as possible without leaving the tarmac 😂 Yes, the blue “Trophy” variant is the more off road biased version. And it’s definitely the best colour scheme.
