Adventure Country Tracks U.K. | Episode 1

- In episode one we set out from the starting point of Llanthony Priory nestled in the Black Mountains. From there we made our way through the Brecon Beacons finishing in the foothills of Snowdonia National Park.
The ACT U.K. is a five day on road/off road adventure that takes you from Wales to Whitby. Travelling through breathtaking scenery along backcountry B roads and epic off road sections, the Adventure Country Tracks U.K. did not disappoint.

I've hreard, that the tracks and lanes in Wales, are amoungst the hardest, most technical in the country.
I'm more than a little impressed you two got through that, on bike bikes!

Great stuff mate! Climbs like that first lane are great for confidence boosters, Once you've got up somewhere like that, the next time isn't half as scary. You've got this off road thing nailed now! well done! 🙂 This is some adventure and it's only day one!
Thank you Ken. They’ve actually taken that first lane off because some say it was too hard on a fully loaded adventure bike. Guess Andy and I showed them. Not sure I got it nailed though 😂

down the steep gravel track looked scary, but the views... well done.

The folk who say big bikes have no place on the trails, should wind their necks in, they have no right to gatekeep the public rights of way.
Cor, that little Ford Fiasco, nearly was one!
I think that is where I go wrong on the trickier lanes, I don't have the confidence to hit them like you do and an ADV bike needs more momentum than a skinny enduro bike, so I set myself up to fail on them... well done on that first lane, that was mega.
The rest of the trails looked incredible too... think you earned that beer!

Cheers Pete. I learned on my Portugal trip that you’ve got to commit on a big ADV bike because they need “bossing”, otherwise you end up having to deal with a 250kg beast trying to have a lie down.

Great video. I loved every minute of the act. Pity you missed the IOM it's a fantastic island with great challenging trails.
I just could spare the time. But it’s on the cards as a stand-alone trip.
A buddy and I ride off pavement together often, so much fun!!
It’s great to be able to share these kind of experiences with friends.
Well 6 minutes in was enough to convince me I need to drag my buddies with me for this.

Thanks for watching. The ACT route is brilliant, really makes you feel like you’re in an adventure. Well noticed. No I wasn’t. Didn’t realise I’d left it in Dynamic Pro until I’d got to the bottom 😂
Well done for that ride! Not so bad on a light dual-sport but quite daunting on larger bikes with those tyres on. Must admit I’ve never ridden anything heavier than 130 kg on trails so hats off to you both. And nice to see a GS on UK trails which can be a bit knarly compared to the European counterparts. 👍
Thanks for watching. 130kg, the GS is twice that with luggage. They can be a handful at times but I guess that’s why I enjoy it so much.

@@EpicMotorcycleAdventures we’ve spoke about it with our friends group. I prefer off roading on my enduro bike. But if all the lads were doing it I would slap another set of anakee wilds on my GSA and do it.
@markfromleeds it was definitely worth it. Opened my eyes to what I could do on the GS.
hoping to try this on a tiger later this year if all things go to plan great work some tricky spots for sure and i know it never shows how steep the hills are on camera

Fantastic Marc. Every video needs to be edited like this now. I think the drone footage with the wind electric generators should be your new intro with your channel name fading in at the end.

6:00 that hill even looked steep on the GoPro! It seems to be the hill that Nathan Millward was saying was potentially really tough for beginners, and might put some off. Looks like you had a cracking time!
They’ve taken that first trail out of the route as some people have been saying it’s too difficult on fully loaded adventure bikes. It was an Epic Motorcycle Adventure.
Really tempted to give this a go.

yep, that first offroad bit uphill behind the farmhouse, I couldn't do it solo
I mailed the situation to the ACT team and mentioned the new surface with the rocky bits.
They provided an alternative route on website towards the track 1.5 Km further on
I’ve noticed they’ve changed the route and removed that bit. Shame. Cuz it was a great test.

Me and my mates are doing the ACT UK in May 2024. I have the GPX file but it V4 that dose not have the first off road section you talked at 4:38 in to the video, would you have the GPS coordinates for the location as I really want to give this a go. Cheers.

Massive thanks for the sub. I was tempted with an XR, but I’d miss the all round ability of the GS if I got one. You could keep the XR and get a smaller bike for off road?

I can’t remember the exact location. Plus they’ve changed the route slightly since I did it.
