This was for charity. No One got paid. they left awards show to record this. There was a Sign that said Leave your Ego at the Door. This was the greatest collection of Artists to sing at one time! These Legends volunteered to sing in the song and you wanted them left out.

Half of them went straight after the awards. I don’t expect everyone to know who they all are. But these are all legends. No one got paid.

All of them did this for free. They only rehearsed for a few late night hours before recording this.

You may not believe but the biggest pick up was Bob Dylan in this song. Quince was in amazement that he said yes to helping out. All are amazing in their own right

It's still to this day every time I watch reactions to this song amazes me that younger people do not know who half of these people are. I don't think it's an excuse when they say well I'm from long after that. I know plenty of people who are in their twenties and in their teens who actually listen to some of because they appreciate the music that came before them. I have a good friend that's a millennial and even he would know I'm almost every single one of these because he listens to all of them. Younger generations have something that my generation never had which isthe internet. You literally have access to anything that you possibly could ever want to hear at your fingertips but nobody seems to go outside of their Lane. I was raised in a household that listen to many many types of music. The only genre that wasn't allowed was country. Lol my dad literally threw a radio out the window and broke the window when i think it was Randy Travis came on. But I still knew who everybody was. None of the acts that people listen to today would exists without these people. Period. I understand not knowing who somebody like Paul Simon was, cuz he was more a songwriter than a singer although he did both. I'm actually surprised you didn't know who Kenny Rogers was because most young people actually know who he is which I always found was hilarious. Play didn't know who Tina Turner was but they knew who Kenny Rogers was. Nobody here got paid, unlike the modern variant of this song with newer artists. However none of the newer artist was anybody of any kind of major caliber unlike these people who did not need to participate or try to boost their careers because they were already legends. This kind of collaboration couldn't exist today because there's too many egos and there's too many people that only care about money, and you don't have a Michael Jackson with his power and his clout to be able to bring everybody together.

Have no fear, after you've done this for awhile you'll start to recognize these great performers. Yes, that was Willie Nelson, and that was Paul Simon in the beginning, I'm sure someone will tell you who all of them are! I didn't mind that you were talking because you were questioning who each one was, always feel free to ask questions! They are a super choir! It's subscriber #642 again!

No one was paid. MJ and Lionel Ritchie wrote the song. They recorded it after a musica awards ceremony when everyone was in the same town and worked on it overnight in a studio. Michael was so invested I think he didn't attend the award show. Lionel Ritchie received a lot of awards that night.

The silver fox you kept asking about was Kenny Rogers! Yes, Stevie was really blind, perhaps he knew what his footsteps sounded like, or maybe he knew what he smelled like. Blind folks have all kinds of ways to identify people!

Kind of a depressing way to look at it, this was done for a totally different reason. These artist's left their egos at home and came together to create something special and for wonderful cause.

This all was donated even the there time to raise money for a good cause. And if normal chior would have done it would not have got the plablicity or brought as much donation money in . all there were major. All headliners. This song embodies true American spirit and shows our unity , diversity and inclusion before all the ish being used to divide America to try and tear it apart. Don't believe the ish that America is riddled with racism its simply not true.
