You're very welcome for the shout-out. Happy to help. Brody Joe is a great guy for sure. I enjoy his videos as well. I use the breath method sometimes. It does help to keep things slow and the bowl cool. Have a great week. 👊
So true! For me personally, I struggled with finding all the flavors in the different tobaccos, and being able to savor those flavors, until I learned the “breath method”, and it just changed everything, for me. I may had even given up on pipe smoking, if I would had not discovered this. Game changer, no doubt!
it is actually the only proper way to smoke a pipe. I might sound controversial ... but pretty much the fast majority of the ppl in he YTPC dont actually know how to smoke a pipe properly and smoke WWAAAYY too fast. Most of us pipe smokers have a cigarette background. And most pipe smokers apply cigarette style and size drawing and puffing on something that is not a cigarette. its a sort of reflex. Proper pipe smoking is done as slowly as possible. the teeniest tiniest sips and to produce as little smoke as possible. Someone who knows how to smoke properly can smoke any tobacco in any pipe and never have to be bothered with overheating issues or moist issues. My old great-granddad lived to the high age of 112 and he smoked pretty much all of his life. and i can distinctly remember that when he was smoking pipe, he barely produced smoke. just the teeniest tiniest whiffs of smoke. Sometimes we see ppl in films smoking pipe producing big smoke clouds. however this is deceptive as when smoking properly (slow and tiny sips) the little bit of smoke would not be visable on the camera, hence they took bigger draws and produce lots of smoke for effect. Smoking pipe is a matter of relaxation. Im so glad that more and more pipe smokers are discovering how to smoke a pipe properly thanks to this vid and from ppl like muttnchop or DalePiper. Cheers and God bless.
Hello from Somerset, UK. Found you a week or so ago and am enjoying your content. Nice and simple, easy listening. Your one of my go to youtubers. Happy piping! Proper job as we say here.
Hey from America! 🇺🇸 👍🏼 Thanks so much for watching. I hope to visit the UK one day. Glad you like this content. Lots of stuff on the way. I’ll try my best to do a proper job. 😉
Most modern day pipe smokers smoke WAYYYY too fast. and then go about complaining about tobaccos burning hot, moist issues, or weak flavour in tobacco. Smoking as slowly as possible increases the subtle flavours of the tobacco by at least 50%. it elliminates overheating (overheating causes moisture) and elliminates moist issues. I call the breath method usually the bellow method... as you use your tongue to kind of bellow a tiny bit of smoke in and out. I always advise to take the teeniest tiniest sips. like a teaspoon full. not big mouths full. And to smoke as slow as possible as if one is in a pipe smoking competition. and to produce as little smoke as possible. I remember my old great-grandfather who lived to the blessed age of 112. he was a fervent pipe smoker pretty much all of his life. so he knew how to smoke. he barely produced smoke while smoking pipe. just the tiniest whiffs of smoke. Cheers and God bless.
Yeah Brody Joe and Randy are gems! Glad they pointed your channel out to me, keep it up. Btw got me a Mark Twain cob today after seeing it on your vid. I love it!
Phil I’m so glad to hear that! That’s exactly how I felt when I figured it out! Thank you very much for subscribing and I know you have many relaxing smokes ahead of you. 👍🏼👍🏼😁
Thank you for this video. Your setting is very relaxing to watch. I began pipe smoking around last christmas. I also watched many clips from MuttnchopPiper and I also learned the breath method from him. Nevertheless my pipe becomes often times hot. Ok, I am still considered to be a beginner. Maybe in a few month time I will figure it out to keep it cooler. Greetings from Germany.
Hey thanks so much for watching Christopher! Greetings from The States! ✌🏼🇺🇸 Keeping your bowl cool takes practice, and is something you should learn with time and experience. Lots of pipe smokers deal with it. Patience is 🔑. Keep at it, and I’m glad you found this wonderful hobby!
Thanks so much for your comment and I’m very glad you found this video helpful! 😁 You can combine retrohaling with the breathing mechanic, but it takes practice, and may be uncomfortable until you learn to control your nasal valves. Sometimes while I’m performing the breath method, as I’m pushing the smoke back through the stem, I will simultaneously retrohale just a bit, then pull the pipe away from my mouth and slowly push the rest of the smoke out through my nose as a full blown retrohale. Part of the fun is lazily playing with the smoke! I hope you keep enjoying smoking this way. Thanks again for your positive feedback. ✌🏼👍🏼
It absolutely is me! A little bongo groove I wrote and slapped on for the intro. I definitely plan to update it eventually. Secretly(at least for now on this channel), I’m a musician. 🥁😉 Thanks so much for the comment, and I’m super excited that you noticed and liked my drumming! I also appreciate your feedback on my videos here. More pipe content on the way. 😁👍🏼👍🏼
The breath method is very good but it has its limitations. We do not know whether M was the first to practice it but he may have been the first to put it on YT. I don't know. Yes it keeps the pipe lit and it enables us to taste the tobacco, partially. But you'll notice that in order to fully taste it, you have to puff out. Similar to tasting wine. You need the oxygen to refresh the palate.
You seem like an awesome young man. Thx for making this helpful video
You made me a believer brother. Thanks for sharing!
@@honuhalawahalepule653 glad you figured this out! Thanks for your comment. 🙏🏼

I really admire your use and enjoyment of a corn cob pipe. My favorite of pipes, since 1972.
You have the best introduction to videos on TH-cam.

Pretty good guide here. Thanks much. Does one combine with retrohale? Sometimes it stings a bit. Not sure from tobacco or smoke temperature
