A Quick flying visit to catch the arrival of the Messerschmitt ME262 after it spent the weekend at the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford.
Unfortunately I was unable to attend that this year due to other commitments.
As soon as I heard the 262 was being prepared for this flight at Fairford, the weather at Coningsby at that time was biblical. Severe downpours and thunderstorms were passing through and I thought that this flight may not even occur or it would be diverted.
I made the decision to brave the rain and take a walk up to the BBMF side.
All shots are filmed through the big chicken wire type fence there.
The 262 came in with a PR Spitfire and a P51 Mustang I believe from the Rolls Royce Heritage Flight.
Before the Arrival of the 262 I had a few spare minutes to capture a few movements from the Typhoons. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Still looks lethal 80 years on. Thank you. 👍🏻🏴
Only, 10 years old

Very envious of the pilot getting to fly such an iconic aircraft thanks for upload😊
Iconic replica😂😂😂😂😂
@@steffenrosmus9177aye not 'unique🤔 ' like you
@@phillipbanes5484Also from the stripes on the canopy you can see that it has ejection seat and from the flashing lights you can see that it has flashing lights(go figure) still I agree with you.
The shark.beautiful plane.well done
Outstanding experience and sounds.
Really good footage, thanks for uploading.
Great footage. Thanks
Thanks for posting.
Beautiful aircraft
Oh for gawds sake: quick someone call Churchill!
That is coool.
It sure is beautiful.
Most beautiful jet aircraft ever built
@@phillipbanes5484 each to his own
@@phillipbanes5484mb you nissed the woord Jet . And the sr71 looks spectacular....and .. lethal..but NOT beautiful and lethal .
It looks like it’s doing Mach 1 just taxiing . Beautiful aircraft.
Did anyone notice that a German aircraft landed on the runway? Aren't we supposed to shoot them down?
Only on the History Channel!
@@keithroy9217 I heard rumours Hitler is still alive but I didn't think I'd find evidence of it on TH-cam
Shot down yourself. 😂
Sick! I want to check out Coningsby some day.
Is this one of the Replica craft with the Learjet engines?
correct completed in 2004 on the tail you can see the number 501244 this is one of 5 made as a batch
Is this one the of the 5 replicas that was made with modern engines. Or is it the real deal. As I understand it the problem with getting an airworthy real ME262. Is that the original engines are considered not safe for air time
There is one with original Jumo engines being built in the US.
@@bigmull The restored original was nearly done, at least to point of a few taxi tests but not ready to fly. th-cam.com/video/FPazuFQZE3o/w-d-xo.html All work was stopped until new owners took over the museum. I'm hearing there will be no flying at the museum until summer 2024.

@@phillipbanes5484 Absolutely correct, there are dozens of warbirds out there that are 90% replaced, the work on these 262's is second to none but nothing is off an original aircraft hence "replica" but no less great to look at.
@@phillipbanes5484 It wasn't my intention to demean this plane in any way. It was more that the video presented this a real German warbird. So I was quite puzzled by that. Knowing about the problems with ww2 era German jet engines. Among other problems for sure. In flying any WW2 plane today
cheeky Narzi 262 here skulking about the airfield taking photos of the latest allied equipment😆
Airbus get so much PR with the 262 why don't BAE just get on and help get the Mossie & Typhoon/Tempest done.
What's a 262 doing in Lincolnshire?
It done a stop over after the Royal International Air Tattoo to visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
As far as I was aware I thought we were supposed to shoot them down
@@xiaofengxiaofengxiaofengxi4651 Can you imagine the fear of the US and UK air men in WW2? All other WW2 fighters were absolutely nothing and oldtimer against the german Me 262! 🤣
Well, that what she was supposed to do😂😂😂😂😂
The RAF have no a/c left and are looking at museums for all available a/c! Sadly RAF Collerne museum shut decades ago and cannot help!
Just think how deadly it would have been with thoes engines during the war.
One squad shot down 500+ 4-engine bombers in 6-7 months. Should be JG7... meaning the JV44 ace squad is not even counted yet.
Historically inaccurate markings sadly.
