The sequence from around 12 minutes onwards to when they fly over took my breath away. Not a sight I thought I would ever see. And to think around 80 years ago they would have been trying to blow each other put of the sky!! Brave men all back then. Wonderful tribute and an amazing sight. Thanks for that. Very special indeed
I had the fortunate opportunity to meet Herb Tischler in Fort Worth circa 1996 while he was reverse engineering these 262's. He and my Father spent two hours talking about engineering. Both had grown up during the war. Was a pleasure. Great to see one of them up in the air. I believe there were five total being built at the time with United States Navy Pensacola museum providing an original for the reverse engineering.
@@meertenwelleman4600 Interesting one According to Google. Me 262 pilots did rarely eject from their aircraft during WW2. I find this a bit strange as the seat was a British invention circa 1945.
@gazza2933 The ejection seat may be known for the fine werk Martin Baker did after WW2, but it was by no means a British invention. The He-162 and He-219 already had them at the end of the war…
Martin-Baker started to investigate pilot ejection systems from 1934. Germany and Sweden proposed similar systems in 1938. MB concluded that an explosive-powered ejection seat was the best solution. The first practical use by a British pilot was in 1949, during tests of Armstrong Whitworth A.W.52 flying wing aircraft.
I caught the landings before I went to work this morning. I loved the way they lined up for take off. Unique to see these four planes in close formation. Thank you.
This reminds me of the excitement just north of Ware on the A10 when the Vulcan was doing test circuits. People literally stopped their cars to watch. 2010 probably.
Saw the 262 at RIAT. AMAZING to see fly!! Also it is great to see the RR Spitfire return 'home' as she was part of the BBMF until she was sold to fund the repair/rebuild of Hurricane LF363 after her crash landing in the 1990s
Thanks Ted that was very special to see the 262 a very rare sight, and great to see it flying with the Spitfires and Mustang, a unique video, brilliant.
What a fantastic opportunity to be there to watch, and record. I can imagine the tingle you felt to be there. Green with envy!! Thanks very much for putting this up for everyone to enjoy.
Merci pour ces belles images que vous partagez, quelle chance de pouvoir admirer de si beaux avions que nous pouvons uniquement voir dans certains meetings en France ou en Suisse. Merci Ted
Hello. Newer subscriber here👋 Was so very touching watching this during the live stream (around 7:30am where I am)🙂 I thoroughly enjoy your channel, Nikos and Squadron Commander Ted🙂
this was the 1st time my husband and I first med Ted, Nikos and Claire Bear and actually saw them hard at work filming a stream and what a stream the rarest of planes of the RAF a Messerschmitt Me262, P-51 Mustang, a Rolls Royce Spitfire and AB910 Spitfire of the BBMF wow how amazing it was so cool to meet you all in person and to see these amazing planes. Cannot believe this was 6 months ago.
Incredible looking runway with those chems from WW2 gracing our shores and our and Ted's HQ. Oii oii Ohhhh Yeaaah. We are lucky to have Nikos film this ultimate Fighter Squadron from yesteryear. Not a shabby one amongst them. Send It!
As others have said the overhead pass at 15 and the solo 262 at 20 is something else. Both spits are tail up almost immediately and off the ground soon after. Surprised at the tardiness of the Mustang on take off. Also demonstartes the main issue with the 262 is that it requires a very long take off and landing distance so can be be picked off easily. Formidable in the air is the 262 and if Mr H. would have used it as a fighter rather than a fighter bomber there may have been a different result. The English Electric Lightning came less than ten years after the second world war thanks to the work of Sir Freddie Page, an aircraft that is still exceptional today. A time when anything was possible and great people made sure it happened!
Technically the Meteor beat it by a couple of weeks, and there were vague plans to make the original Whittle test bed aircraft into some kind of interceptor. The latter didn't happen, obvs, but the Meteor was JUST first into action.
Thank you Ted .....have just read about in Fly Past magazine.... The Germans have always been envious of us this is why the wars started.... But without this plane were would be..... ? ...hopefully now we all respect all .
Absolutely brilliant to see these iconic flying legends especially the Me262.During WW2 it was flown by test pilots Hanna Reitsch and Mellita von Stauffenberg both awarded Iron Crosses by Herman Goering head of the Luftwaffe and Adolf Hitler!
What a fantastic line up. Heard a merlin engined plane and a jet fly over Hempsted , Peterborough yesterday evening. Was this part of the show en route?
Can you imagine seeing this plane the first time 1944 in youre fighter or bomber. Looked like an Alien craft back in the day compared to the piston engine planes.
2nd time theres been a german fighter in the midlands wow thought id never see a 262 on the display circit 2009 fw190 at duxford with the hispano buchon

Oiii oiii thank you so much.
The noise of the Me262 going over my head sent shivers down my spine.
To see the 4 flying together was extremely special
It was a special formation and amazing sounds

Hi John, the Me 262 has no ejection seat?

According to Google.

Hi, they did not eject because they landed safely or were killed in action?
@gazza2933
The ejection seat may be known for the fine werk Martin Baker did after WW2, but it was by no means a British invention. The He-162 and He-219 already had them at the end of the war…

A truly amazing sight, wow, thanks for getting that for us Ted and Nikos.
Oiii oiii 🤙🏼 you’re most welcome
Unbelievable fortune to be there. That lineup and the flyover at 15:15 like they'd done it especially for Ted Tuesday ! 🤘🏼🤘🏼 🤘🏼🤘🏼
This reminds me of the excitement just north of Ware on the A10 when the Vulcan was doing test circuits. People literally stopped their cars to watch. 2010 probably.
That was amazing. I hit the live stream just as the ME262 began it's take off run. Thank you so much for livestreaming that.
Saw the 262 at RIAT. AMAZING to see fly!! Also it is great to see the RR Spitfire return 'home' as she was part of the BBMF until she was sold to fund the repair/rebuild of Hurricane LF363 after her crash landing in the 1990s
LF363- broken camshaft if i recall correctly. Quite a bizarre failure. Not sure if there was a panic x-ray regime for other Merlins after that.
Stunning. Am literally mouth agape. Great catch Nikos!
So so so glad I got to see the 262 at riat this year what a fantastic aircraft
What a day! These sights and sounds will be with me forever!
Oiii oiiii what a day this was ooohhh yeah 🇩🇪🇺🇸🇬🇧
Brilliant display of amazing aircraft and the ME 262 sounded great as did the P51 and Spitfires.
Thanks Ted that was very special to see the 262 a very rare sight, and great to see it flying with the Spitfires and Mustang, a unique video, brilliant.

15:20 Don't you point those at me! 😂
Brilliant video! Would love to see a Meteor in with that.
That would have been awesome too
All that was missing there was a last-man-standing dogfight (with real ammo, obv.). All kidding aside, great footage.
That is absolutely incredible. Top video as usual. Literally a very emotional sight to see.
Thank you very much Aaron 🤙🏼

How long before we get Tempest, Mosquito, Beaufighter, Me109 and FW-190 Two Spits, Mustang and Me262 at one event?
The Tempest won't count unless it is a MkV. We need the sound of a Sabre; not another Centaurus.
Wow!!!!😮
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Ted .....have just read about in Fly Past magazine.... The Germans have always been envious of us this is why the wars started.... But without this plane were would be..... ? ...hopefully now we all respect all .
Me 262🤩👍
Fantastic!
Rolls Royce Spitfire? Not Supermarine? Me262 must have been amazing. Wrong year to miss RIAT. Thanks for filming
Hi Keith, so the Spitfire XIX belongs to ROLLS ROYCE
A sad time in history, but what beautiful aircrafts.
Will she be at eastbourne air show would make my day seeing them in formation thank for a great video
No she’s gone back to Germany
Absolutely brilliant to see these iconic flying legends especially the Me262.During WW2 it was flown by test pilots Hanna Reitsch and Mellita von Stauffenberg both awarded Iron Crosses by Herman Goering head of the Luftwaffe and Adolf Hitler!
if it had ended differently then, what roundels would be on it now.

Ooh yeah
the 262 is actually a replica
It sure it and a remarkable one too
the formation respresents the war in europe @@TedConingsby
Ted.
How many caps have you lost?
a few
the Spitfires +P-51 are authentic, the Me 262 is authentic in the same way my neighbour’s car is an “AC Cobra”
Superb
This should have been done a decade ago at Legends.
Can you imagine seeing this plane the first time 1944 in youre fighter or bomber.
Looked like an Alien craft back in the day compared to the piston engine planes.
The delays made it too late to make an impact in the war, though it’s advanced technology made for keeping up with it, hence the Gloster Meteor.
Flying with Sally B would be another first as well.
You never know
262 looks bad ass,,,,,
Feels like a scene from 1945, a captured Me262 is escorted to Uk by the 3 top aces in SHAEF
2nd time theres been a german fighter in the midlands wow thought id never see a 262 on the display circit 2009 fw190 at duxford with the hispano buchon
Ooohh yeah
you can hear that griffon@@TedConingsby
Put m e 262 have a German pilot?
Yes
por que siempre en los museos aéreos o museos de tanques los alemanes son mas atracción lo digo por ME-262 y el TIGER 🤣🤣🤣
They should have thrown in a Mosquito for good measure!
That’s beautiful and amazing to see ted team❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
Ooohhh yeah 🇩🇪🇺🇸🇬🇧
