- I have a short video today because we're working hard getting our bees ready for California almond pollination! We've been up against the weather here in Texas but we're getting it done!

Beekeeper here in Maryland, but grew up in Texas. Love seeing beekeeping back home. Best of luck this season!
Thanks!
Wimpy just 20, from WV and that is an avg. winter dip for us, it takes a 0 or negative to take note but I understand. In college we had an event between Christmas and the new year in AZ. We had T shirts and shorts on, in comfortable temps of 70s that was warm for us. They had the winter coats on and we even were happy to walk in for them a rare rain like that. We get 90's in the summer normally too and we are generally wetter than TX or AZ. Good luck
We get above 100 regularly in the summer. I’ll take that over 20 hahaha
The bees look fantastic!
Thank you!
What do you use in the frame feeders ,prevent the bees from dying or killing each other by piling in ?
Stainless hardware cloth folded like an accordion
Are those cannolis or Italians?, Also, what do you do if you have like a one frame of bees.
Yes. lol they’re a mix. If it’s a one framer knock it down to a single and see if it lives. Usually doesn’t lol
Do all of your migratory tops have that upper vent? Thats something i haven't seen before and might have to steal later.
Yes they do, and our new ones have one on both sides so we don’t have to pay attention to the direction the lid is on. Believe it or not that little hole will also save a colony if water gets above the front door.
What is the rocket fule
It’s a supplement. APIS Bio Control
Where did you get your lids.
We build them in house
I like the looks of them. Wish I had 500.
@@beekeeperjakewhat are they built out of? Do you have trouble with them warping?
HDO tops and ground contact lumber ripped for everything else. No issues. We’ve been doing it as long as I can remember
@@beekeeperjake hdo plywood is hard to find in my area but what I have used of it so far I like it best.
Hey, Jake. How do you like that rocket fuel? Do you think it makes a big difference?
I think it does! Heck, even if it doesn’t, it’s a $50 bag that goes in a whole tote of sugar that makes me feel better 🤣🤣
The idea of preying upon your commercial beekeeping and specialty for your team and for you personally never crossed my mind. You remember the back door you pointed at that those who are not so positive about your business to get out? Well I am out. Don’t worry I will preying for you sir. Your bees look great. Have a blessed day and don’t be too proud.
Ok?
@@beekeeperjakeI think he means Praying.
@@philbeeman I understand that. Just don’t understand the issue lol
