neimi is my favorite unit in the game she ended up keeping up with my paladin in my ironman (partially cuz i did feed her a ton) and i feel she's pretty underrated, she's easily the best nidhogg user and even in gba fe i think it's nice to have a bow user due to things like brave bow legendary bow and longbow availabity, i use her every single run

She is in the wrong game unfortunately for her. There is not any real reason to use her over other units unless you like her or if you are doing a challenge run
I use Neimi every single run I've ever played of FE8 and she always gets low percent crits despite every single odd being against her, S tier unit (in my heart)
i think neimi gets too much crap where people argue she is potentially the worst unit in sacred stones (or at least one of the worst) she has an early recruitment. her opening chapter gives her a chance to get easy xp with all of the walls. her promotion item is exclusive and easy to get very early in the game. she can easily pick off weakened units and her promotion fixes her 1 range issue. She also gets massive promotion bonuses.
@@themarauding she is also a lot easier to use then Amelia. She has 6 chapters more of experience then Amelia and even if you decided to hold off grinding until you got Amelia neimi would have an easier time getting experience
So I decided to do 2 separate fe8 hard mode runs one Ephraim route one Erika route, in both of them I found her more useful then Gilliam Ross and Natasha (which realistically who she was fighting for with deployment slots) in the ephiram route I actually found it easier to get experience (chapter 9 10 and 11 have a lot more choke points on ephirams route vs Erikas) in both runs neimi was promoted. I tried a quick promote and a level 20 promote. She was useful in both runs and not in a way that requires tons of favoritism.

(Granted in the runs I used her for efficient playthrough I almost never did that) However canto, a horse, and the extra con did help a ton. I'm not saying she is the best unit or even one of the best units in fe8, but I'd argue she is a better unit then Ross Marisa Amelia Ewan and Natasha.
While standing on the front lines with a javelin or hand axe is really helpful, units can contribute in other ways too. The biggest problem with Neimi is she has competition for early exp, something that FE7 Rebecca doesn’t have much of besides Lowen and arguably Hector and Eliwood. Still, I think she stands out best in Ephraim mode where there are more densely packed maps with less terrain features to take advantage of. I actually think more fliers like HHM would make people appreciate Neimi more, after all the only reason Rebecca can’t one tap those fliers with her iron bow is because of 2x effectiveness, but it feels good for the player to delete enemies with such large threat ranges, and it takes off the burden of your front liners to hit them the first time.
Neimi is a bit underrated. Sure, you don't need her contributions by any means to complete the game and she's outclassed by other units, but at the same time: 1. Best support affinity in the game in Fire and can support Garcia for a dual Fire as soon as she joins, which are the best available bonuses you could ask for. She of course also supports Colm for only marginally worse boosts. 2. Her bases suck but her growths are among the strongest in the game as a whole, with great growths everywhere but HP and Def. Her Promotion helps these stats a lot and her offense will eventually be very good. 3. As an Archer, she is quite good in the chapter 5 arena and can win easily, earning herself uncontested exp and gold for the rest of them. 4. She has exclusive reign over both an entire type of weapon and an entire Promotion item, as no one else needs bows until Innes or promoted Garcia/Gerik and no one else uses her item. Said item shows up the next map after she can hit the arena. 5. Bows have over-the-wall utility on indoor maps like 8, 9, 14 and 19. She's also competent at killing Dracozombies with effective bows as long as she can grow enough HP to avoid the one shot. 6. Nidhogg, while not a great Legendary weapon, is virtually uncontested besides Innes. This allows her a near exclusive S rank weapon to contribute to all monster killing. I think shes quite useful even on Hard Mode if played to her strengths. Just a really bad start and a bad initial class.
Hi, I tend to promote her on level 20 and using swords. She gets one of the highest strength in the group same level a Seth in strength . Also when she gets the horse that small mobility do wonders.
She's the best unit to use an Orion's Bolt on.

Getting swords does not fix her
She's still better than Marisa and if you're using Colm too, she's pretty decent at dishing out damage.

First time playing FE 8, my Neimi got cap strength before hitting lv 20 so I was so confused when everyone thinking she when my turn out really good 😂
