  • Bought this 1985 Suzuki Quadrunner LT230E Shaft drive ATV a few weeks ago for $350. We got it started, but, it would not keep running in the last video. In this video, we found that the cold start, enrichment valve plunger has corroded and seized within the carburetor. The Mikuni Carburetor is ruined! In this video, we will build an intake manifold to convert the carburetor pipe mount to a 2 bolt flange / plate style mount allowing an easy install for the Keihin PZ27 clone, Once that was done, the LT230 started easily and ran well. This Quad is getting closer to becoming a flat track racer!

I'm not sure why some folks are so concerned about being "original". It's more important to get it running and useable in my book. Nice recovery Harvey.

Man I like how you made your own intake. That’s a big problem I run into with older quads and bikes and nobody makes replacement ones. You would think with 3D printers and all the modern technology someone would make them as there’s def a need and market for it.

It sounds like a challenge was accepted, my job here is done! Can't find a listing on Mudthrowers for the front lug spacing and tire size, only the rear. Harvey, see if you can give me a measurement on the front lug spacing and I'll see what other wheels might fit.
