I’ve never heard Daniel Brühl as Daniel Brühl before Makes me realise what a great take he did on Lauda’s voice, and what a performance it was Love the anecdote about the hand luggage 🤣
Daniel was meant for this role. He had the perfect look (including the overbite), the voice, and the facial and gestural characteristics. Brilliant performance in this movie.
"Daniel was meant for this role. He had the perfect look (including the overbite)"...........He was simply amazing, however I do want to point out that the overbite was prosthetic, they weren't his real teeth.
margus kiis Considering he spent lots of time with Niki and even had him on speed dial, while on set he kept ringing him to ask questions to make sure he got everything right even down to physicality. Niki was very satisfied with Daniel's performance and his voice/accent was very close to Niki's. You clearly have no clue what you are talking about. I think Niki knows himself more than you do.
I've been a racing fan since 1994 and have seen Niki Lauda on TV many times and when I saw Daniel Bruhl as Niki I was blown away. He looked so much like him and when he spoke I had to pause the film and get a clip of Niki to compare. Seriously Impressed with his acting ability. I have never seen such an accurate portrayal of a real life person, he captured the most intricate cadences and micro-expressions. Another Ron Howard Classic.
+Jai Edward Kapoor The two dots represent a different pronunciation and in German that's important. u is like the English oo in loop, whilst the ü doesn't even exist. Same with a which is like the u in unreal and ä which is like your a. There's also ö.
+KickboxerKyo1 In terms of story arc it's very similar - the dynamic between Tom Cruise and Michael Rooker anyway. Rush didn't have a third jagoff (played by Cary Elwes) though... but Jerry Bruckheimer always has one guy in each movie that you absolutely HATE... no complexity, just purely irritating.
Rush is one of the greatest sports movies ever made; not a fake Hollywood testosterone fest. This is real life and death, in all its triumph and tragedy.
Naja, wenn man eine Fremdsprache spricht, hört man halt immer einen leichten Akzent. Ich finde, dass sein Englisch wirklich super ist! Da kann sich manch ein Politiker aber ne fette Scheibe von abschneiden!
He speaks pretty good, but an accent is noticable. Germans are not able to speak "L". They speak it like Irish people. Good, the movie looks interesting at first look.
Daniel Bruhl was literally perfect in this role, wow.
I’ve never heard Daniel Brühl as Daniel Brühl before

Love the anecdote about the hand luggage 🤣
Holy shit! He really worked on the accent!
That guy speaks like 93 languages.
Smarts ^_^
He’s half Spanish half German so that knocks out two. 😂
Most underrated movie of all time

His rendition of Niki Lauda was HORRIBLE. He played Lauda like some woody nerdie with horrible accent.

"just bring hand luggage in case we don't like each other" lmao typical lauda
Oscar worthy act
Yes.
Is that a question or are you just trying to piss me off.
haha.
Agreed
YUP!
Jonah Hill was an idiot!

He’s awesome! One of my favourite actors!
Lana Wang Me too love at first sight in Rush!
that dude is a fantastic actor
Like Christoph Waltz.
His Inglorious B co-star.
Daniel will be an Academy Award winner in the future.
RIP Niki Lauda legends never die
The interviewer shes soo good .. n shes so much into the movie .
LOVE HIM
I liked niki all the way through the movie.
DANIEL IS A GREAT ACTOR AND VERY SEXY! MUY GUAPO! SALUTATIONS FROM CALIFORNIA, USA!!!!
It gets me every single freaking time when he switches to his Niki Lauda accent ... ahahahahhh 😆😆 Daniel Brühl more like Daniel Drühl 🤤🤤
Oh, he has a really easy on the ear accent in real life.
such a brilliant actor
Now I'm in love with him in The Alienist!! Swoon.
Mission report, December 16, 1991.
I know this comment is going to appear...
Like Daniel as Zemo in Civil War, but he is way better in this movie ^^
in nikki lauda accent :D
Just maybe - the best racing movie ever!
So underated
Hé look like a smart Guy
I wouldn't describe it as rivalry, rather "friendly competition."
Frenemies LMAO
Baron Zemo vs Thor!
very good interview
Good interview
It's Brühl, not Bruhl, the two dots above the u are very important.
SimonHellinger Oh get a life buddy!!!!
+Jai Edward Kapoor As an native English speaker, you probably don't know how important diacritics are.
SimonHellinger 2 fucking dots, seriously.
+Jai Edward Kapoor The two dots represent a different pronunciation and in German that's important. u is like the English oo in loop, whilst the ü doesn't even exist. Same with a which is like the u in unreal and ä which is like your a. There's also ö.
+SimonHellinger yeah that's true. I've got the same problem :)
If you know racing then you know who really came out on top. I had the honor of being Mr. Lauda's waiter in Miami Beach back in the 90's.
awesome guy
Daniel, aunque tengas origen español, igual nos representas a los latinos!!!!
the interviewer and daniel looks so prettyyy!!! ugh my bisexual heart
He deserved an Oscar that yeah smh
Who's here just after watching the Rush movie on Netflix?
😂🙋🏼♀️
Nominated for the Critics Choice, SAG, BAFTA, Golden Globe but not the Oscar.
Also, Daniel Bruhl should be Vega the Claw in a future "Street Fighter" movie! Anyone with me?
Hail hydra
Cut of one head, two more shall take its place
Why does his voice sound high pitched in the clips from the movie? Did they have to tone it down for the movie?
Chris hemsworth also sounds pitched up so I think the channel did it for copyright reasons
This guy speak even Indonesian...
Hmmm. British Days of Thunder, anyone?

he looks so like henry cavill in that background poster
German Toby Maguire?!?!?!? I thought it was Toby Maguire from the thumbnail.
But Daniel's a better, more versatile actor.
and sometimes he looks like christopher reeves
i liek him better in the movie
Thor and Baron Zemo
Lia great Na ja, eigentlich ein österreichischer Akzent.
He speaks pretty good, but an accent is noticable. Germans are not able to speak "L". They speak it like Irish people.
Good, the movie looks interesting at first look.
Alexander Howard you can't say that in general idiot.
He has a pretty good British intonation here. He does upper class turn of the century American in The Alienist.
That´s the Chinese, lol. I´m grateful tbh I don´t have to pronounce "lol" :)
UwU very cute
