I think empress of light is just a check of your buffs and armor really, its really hard to dodge alot of the attacks especially on mobile XD but there's a few ways to minimize damage to make it so you can have more dps time and then have a heal and dodge a bit. Moon lord is much easier imo because his attacks are a bit easier to dodge and he's basically an over glorified skeletron and you had to have fought 2 by now,empress of light is just so not like really any other boss fight that it often takes a few times of getting used to her attacks to beat her. I feel bad for all hardcore players who die because they accidentally killed a prismatic butterfly while fight other enemies and didn't see it
For me (melee main) it’s so surreal, that an end game armor has so little defense. But at least offense is pretty good and insanely cool looking. Also this might be one of the best sets to fight enraged empress of light, because you it doesn’t matter how much defense you have and you can focus on dodging
The best set to fight empress out of all is probably the hallowed summoner set. The focusing on dodging and still dealing huge damage is the main thing for summoner
Honestly the entirety of summoner can be pretty surreal for melee mains. Like, due to Obsidian armor's status as 1. The only whip buff armor in the game 2. An armor set with a set bonus way too strong, even after being nerfed It can be a viable option for all of the game. And it only has 15 fucking defense. Oh yeah, there's also the fact that Tiki is the highest-defense non-OOA pre-ML summoner armor set but it's actual fucking trash

Mythical isn't actually a good modifier for the Dragon Staff, Ruthless is the best for summon weapons. The critical chance, knockback, and speed do literally nothing to summons as they cannot do any of that, mana cost doesn't really matter as you don't need much mana to summon them anyways. Ruthless is the best as it has the highest damage.
i usually use mythical because it’ll be faster to summon them, also if you use a whip it can be useful because minions can critical strike after whipping an enemy
quick tip: for every summon in the game excluding blade staff and maybe finch staff, ruthless is the best modifier because of the extra damage and because the extra knockback provided by mythical isn't that helpful for most summons. blade staff cannot get modifiers that affect knockback so pretty much anything that boosts damage past 14% is good for blade. For whips legendary is the best reforge, and unless you are playing around blade staff in particular, you should reforge all your accessories to menacing. (warding if using blade staff)
But the beetle you buy from the witch doctor stacks with summon emblem also he had all warding instead of all menacing . He lost out on like 60% buff in damage

I've been trying to set up that kind of epic fight It's an actual achievement to fight all 3 mechanical bosses at the same time So why not add in a few more?

If you dont want the guardian you can switch out the head if stardust to Spooky. it really doesnt make much difference other than its actually just stardust guardian, and only a tiny bit worse stats
