- The ultimate showdown of the new Terraria 1.4 sword, Zenith, versus the best pre-Journey's End Moon Lord drop (and in general), Last Prism. Of course, while giving both lowkey best damage loadouts. This can only go so well for bosses (in Master Mode even).
(also i wonder if there would be some people who will find this video searching Zenith Prism, such a coincidence)

Jennifer Bunting I think of the last prism as a way to get the zenith, as it’s less responsive and weaker yet still deals a lot of damage. I use it just to make moon lord farming easier so I can get the zenith.

Jackal Zenith is post post moon lord u could say, it uses both swords dropped by moon lord to make it, where as last prism is dropped by him, meaning the Zenith is far harder to obtain. And it wouldn’t be a mage item without using mana.
I mean, Last Prism is a singular drop, and Zenith is compromised of several Moonlord drops and lower, so I would say Last Prism did pretty good.

Yeah, Zenith is objectively the best of the two, what with the lack of mana requirement and it's sheer capacity to fuck shit up, but I'd argue the Last Prism is the more fun one, what with it being a big ass laser and all.

@@asim4243 the zenith needs 2 moon lord drops and many other hard to craft swords. Not as simple as just killing moon lord which makes it somewhat of a post endgame weapon (as all other classes's options just stop after defeating moonlord and getting his drop). Many people may get both moon lords weapons before getting that one rare blade. Its one of the reasons why zenith is so underwhelming to me as it just shreds everything and theres no more bosses to challenge it. Even in modded its gonna be nerfed so ehhhh still prefer last prism and mage in general

Tarek Kad i’m pretty sure the zenith is meant to symbolize the theme of the update itself; as it is the “journey’s end” update. you get the weapon that is made from all the most prominent weapons used during the melee run (for someone who isn’t speedrunning and is just playing the game casually) and you combine them all together.
From humble beginnings using the copper shortsword to domination using the meowmare. You’ve come a long way- here’s a sword that obliterates everything.
Crabbar: Uses Queen Slime theme for all of the pre HM bosses.

Don’t forget the defense you get for melee armor plus it doesn’t take anything like mana also it’s extremely easy to aim with
I liked that you had to build around the last prism in order for it to work, and the potion usage was crazy. This requires no upkeep and is better in every way. Now, it's post moon-lord so it doesn't really matter but I genuinely think it's too good as is.

COPYRIGHT STRIKE there’s a different tier of post-Moon Lord here though.
Zenith in particular is also more designed in relations to modded progression.
Anyway, to explain the tiers of post Moon Lord
In Vanilla, post Moon Lord content all stems from what the Moon Lord drops. It drops weapons itself, which is post-Moon Lord-but only once post-Moon Lord. With all post-Moon Lord weapons (besides Zenith) you get them only by killing the Moon Lord. This means that you could, for example, get the Last Prism as your first drop from the boss, meaning that any Moon Lord drop is only just post-Moon Lord.
This means that you could kill the Moon Lord once, then instantly farm him up using the post Moon Lord weapon he dropped.
However, the Zenith is further down the post-Moon Lord tier (being the furthest past ML in Vanilla). To get it, not only does it require swords from all ends of the game, but two of them are Moon Lord drops.
Basically, you can’t kill Moon Lord once and then farm him out using the Zenith. Zenith doesn’t drop from Moon Lord, and isn’t craftable immediately after killing Moon Lord-instead, in order to get Zenith you need to farm out Moon Lord with the weapons dropped by him at least once.
This means that the Last Prism (and all other weapons dropped by the Moon Lord) is merely a means to an end to get the Zenith. You use the weapons dropped by the Moon Lord to farm the Moon Lord until you’ve got both of the specific drops you need to craft the ultimate weapon, the Zenith.
Basically, the Last Prism is something you could get after killing the Moon Lord once, making it easier to get than the Zenith and therefore a tier below. A weapon requiring two post-Moon Lord weapons to make should be more powerful than any single post-Moon Lord by itself just by logic.

I think the problem with the Last Prism is the ticks of damage per second. The Zenith doesn't seem to have a limit (or it's at least very small), but you can hear every time the Last Prism deals damage

Me and a friend beat Empress if Light during the day. We didn't know any patterns but we buffed and then both used Zenith to kill it in like 3 seconds.

The last prison is no wear near as good as the Zenith, the zenith ultimately does far more damage, you can see videos of people comparing the weapons against bosses, the zenith wins every time by a good amount, not to mention the last prism only lasts a few seconds due to it costing a ton of mana, yet the zenith costs NOTHING meaning you can use it INFINITELY, as a bonus the zenith can phase through solid objects when the prism can’t
Saying the Last Prism is better than the Zenith is like saying a wooden shovel is a better weapon than a Netherite sword

Last prism is better imo, with certain sets your dmg with the last prism can go higher than that of zenith like crab bar mentioned
@@TapiocaMCZ mana isnt rlly a big problem, mana regen potions, mana potions with a mana flower ir other simple solutions, mana has never been a problem for me when using the last prism
I love the zenith damage, its really satisfiying
