- Music performance is often seen as coming AFTER practice. But performing regularly is a vital part of the learning process for musicians of all levels. When combined properly with traditional practice sessions, it leads to a huge leap forward in your music and your confidence.
With that, here's what you'll learn in today's video.
Even though it feels sensible to stay in the practice room to get things just a bit more ready before you go out and perform them, this can be a trap. You want to use the efficient learning feedback loop: practice, perform, reflect and then start again at practice. And the faster you go round this loop, the quicker you'll learn.
Even if it feels that you're not ready to perform the things you're currently working on yet, remember that you can always pick some easier material to perform.

I totally agree with this! Having a weekly zoom performance group--where we all share performances of any level--has helped all of us participants tremendously!
