Theres a lot of really good flash games out there. But in terms of "advanced-ness" this one takes the cake for me. When i first played it, almost every single feature was unexpected. I just couldnt believe how good it was
Pretty pricey for something made in 4 months and sales equivalent of 4 stacks of beer? Though shame they had to cut a few things out like the hidden safehouse after you get James the Rilfeman as you companion. That place saved my bacon numerous times in hardcore, just endless ceiling zombies!
Flash games is unironically what the indie scene should be. It was an engine accessible to many developers and the fact most games were for free meant passion and talent were unhindered by greed from third parties. Sure it was tougher for the devs to make money but it also kept people from just making games meant to cash in on buyer that didn't know better.
@@arforafro5523 amen to that. It's really great seeing the internet come together to share their love of flash games in the comment sections on this channel
now, just imagine being on a boat in the middle of the sea with your wife/husband, thinking you've probably escaped the undead for a while when your partner starts to turn. maybe you'd keep going with a companion still alive with you on the boat, but if you escaped without either Hank or Kelly, it's just best to spare one of the bullets for yourself. p.s. yes, you can select a male/female character from the character creation screen. depending on your choice, your bitten partner would either be Beth or Matthew. and note that as you progress further into the Docks, Waterside and Union Island with your partner, zombies ignore them, signalling that they would soon turn. p.p.s. yes, your combat companion (Hank/Kelly) can come with you on the boat if you play your cards right. thing is, you can only recruit one of them at a time, and if you try to take Hank with you after you took Kelly or vice versa, the game presents you with two choices: replace your current companion (replaces the companion model, which kinda breaks immersion for some players), or leave the new companion there fending for themselves. p.p.p.s. our guy Scrubby left them to die probably for the story. in fact, there are certain ways you can avoid the "ceiling collapse" hordes, which involves running to other rooms or designated safe areas e.g the Pawn shop, safehouses. note that in other buildings where zombie spawns are allowed, if you run from such hordes to another room, another horde will spawn there too. that being said, if you wanna take them on without losing a companion, just get to somewhere with plenty of space to manoeuvre and reload and you'll be mostly fine. that's how carefully the Con Artists designed this game.
Ohh I didn't notice that bit about zombies ignoring the significant other that's very cool!! Haha yeah I definitely abandoned both companions. With Kelly I abandoned her because I was genuinely gonna die if I didn't leave the room so it was either both of us Dead or just her lol. And with Hank we both died in that room, but I couldn't put that in the story since I told it as a FPP kind of thing. So you were right on the money!
@@TheLovelyScrub man, I can go on and on about the stuff I noticed over my 100s of times playing this game, but that'd easily flood out the comments section. Con Artists really put their thought into the game, which is why we're here
@@hungphan5089 yeah dude they sure did! Con artist himself actually blessed this channel with a comment! He replied to my first video on the TLS series, I pinned it there if you're curious what he said!

This is late, but whatever. The guy from Glendale with the "animal bite" was likely one of the numerous refugees that flooded into Union City whilst attempting to outrun the horde. Potentially one of the first people to turn within Union City, causing the outbreak there. Seeing how in Last Stand 2, Glendale was overrun, and Union City takes place after.
no. for my years of playing Dead Zone and Aftermath, we never knew what happened to us and our partner in Union City. Con Artists really like open endings you know
This bit info I'm about to share isn't about our protagonist or spouse, but, I remember hearing online somewhere that Jack mightve been the one to start "The End" in Aftermath. The End being the main survivor community in the game in case you haven't played it
This really felt like con artists wanted to say they can make "real games" and for the most part? Did a really good job on a very limited engine

Last stand union city is still one of my favorite games
Same! I really love this game lol. And funny thing is - I had no idea it existed until I made this channel
Super late, but the key could be found in the first section in the subway all the way to the right. Can’t believe I remember that years later
Damn. Thanks! It drove me crazy that I couldn't find that key
You forgot the part where you look at the zombie you ran over. Your character will comment on it.
Oh that's interesting I did indeed miss that part!
Doesn't the character say, "What the hell???"

Yep. All DLC has been free for a few years now, too.
