  • Discover Kobe and Himeji, the main cities in Hyogo, Japan. They are 15 minutes away from each other, and also very close to Osaka. Himeji is famous for the largest and most visited castle in Japan, and Kobe for the port area, the beef and pearls.
    In this trip, we also took the chance to have some unique experiences in Hyogo discovering somen noodles and the 850-year-old pottery tradition in Tamba-Sasayama.
    Thanks to Hyogo Prefecture for inviting us to discover 3 amazing cities and for sponsoring this video, which supports our work.

    ► WHO AM I?
    I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that, for so long, I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
    P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American, and he's actually camera-shy. That's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

    This was my most favorite video about Japan made by you, Renate and Gorden.
    I loved your hands on activities and tastings of thinnest noodles, sake and Japanese food. This longer format allowed you to immerse yourself in Japanese culture and your enthusiasm was in your smiles and sparkles in your eyes. We enjoyed along with you by following you in all these charming places Himedji, Kobe, Japanese village- open air museum and more. 👍👍👍🇯🇵

    At 12:17 the first thing I thought you were going to say that Kobe is associated with was the earthquake in 1995, because it was really huge. But of course there are nicer things to associate the city with and Kobe seems really beautiful, and I guess easy to visit at the same trip as Kyoto and Osaka and the Himeji. :) Have been to Tokyo, Yokohama and Nikko but would like to go to this area next time.

    Himeji is famous enough for the castle, but west of Himeji (including Tatsuno) is an understated and very overlooked region of Japan (Harima) despite its rich history. Remains of mediveal castles and fortresses are all across the region. Visitors can enjoy a true countryside with peaceful nature and serenity totally unspoiled by tourism.

    • @noritakaakamatsu9713
      @noritakaakamatsu9713 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RenataPereiraTV A challenge is to find where to stay. In Tatsuno, there is a well-known inn called Umetama Inn. It was created by reforming a former mansion of a senior samurai chief of Wakisaka clan, Lord of Tatsuno during Edo period. The inn was featured in a popular movie. Unfortunately, “well known” doesn’t necessarily means that it offers a comfortable stay in this modern time. It’s OK but not great. I hope some wealthy investor will take it over and transform it.
      I am working with a local grape farmer to develop a winery in the town of Kamigori, west of Tatsuno. There, I tend to stay at Sasagaoka-So. It’s not a very tasteful place but offers relatively comfortable stay. By address, it is located in the town of Sayo, the northern neighbor town of Kamigori. But it’s near the border with Kamigori.
      Within the town of Sayo, there is a villege of Hirafuku. There you can find NIPPONIA Hirafuku, a farmhouse inn which operates like the one in Maruyama villege of Sasayama. Actually, they should both be franchisees of the same farmhouse inn, NIPPONIA. One in Hirafuku offers comfortable stay with French course dinner (and good local Japanese breakfast).
      If you are adventurous enough to go farther into mountainous areas, I recommend Glaminka in the town of Sayo. Voila, you find another set of farmhouse inns. It’s deep into the mountains but offers comfortable stay in nature.

      @@RenataPereiraTV BTW, as you probably know, there is a baby castle of Lord Wakisaka in the old town of Tatsuno. Tatsuno is also well known for soy source production. On the sea side, there is a nice fisherman’s villege called Murotsu. There you can enjoy fresh oysters or catch of the day.
