I was on Bydureon for six years and watched a video each week on how to inject it just to make sure I always did it right. But then I was switched to Trulicity as I'm 74. My father died from a heart attack at 75 and my mother (a smoker) died from a HA at 58. I watch this video every week.
does it matter what time of day or night I inject it? What if I am already taking a pill form like metformin? How long do I stop taking the metformin before I take the pen instead?

Thanks, cow-shit-for-brains insurance company and incompetent manufacturer. This video answered a couple questions and would have been helpful, had the ****ing pen worked.
Using the Trulicity pen ISN'T an emergency like using an EpiPen. As with any ordinary injection, why isn't there an instruction here to first sanitize the planned injection site with isopropyl alcohol ???

At first sight of the needles, it looks threatening as it is LONG ! But after injecting i realised the device is calibrated to just inject a few millimeters below the skin so its not that bad. The only thing is that unlike injecting insulin where u can sort of ease the needle in, for this, u need to get use to pressing until the click sets in. Can get rather nervous first few times as u never quite know when it 'clicks'.
These injection pens are not to be feared - they are great! If straight from the fridge I often don't feel a thing - really! A little bead either of blood or clear will often remain after removing the pen - it is normal and should simply be wiped off - the injection has worked. The only thing not covered in this video is how hard to press the pen into the flesh before starting - I would say hold it firmly onto the skin but please don't think you have to dig it in - the needle will fire into the correct depth by itself. If held too loosely and you allow the pen to kick back when it fires you might have the accident of the needle not going in but I have never experienced that. Hold it on the spot firmly and keep it there still when pressing the green buttons. I get my 10 year old neice to inject me - it is good for her education and it does not hurt either of us - promise!

This medicine caused bad side effects for me, sugars averaged 40-70s before I was never under 90. Causes much peeing result, It caused my potassium levels to drop/dehydration and irregular heartbeat. Overall, you feel like crap and waste food. If you're sensitive to side effects, double your metformin before trying the pen. Was on it for 1.5 year.
I have a couple questions……..1) do u inject as soon as u retrieve the pen from the refrigerator or wait a few minutes?? 2) does the pen need to be shaken before use? 3) Do u have to inject the same day of every week at the same time? Thank u 🙏🏽
Hi there, you can use the pen as soon as you remove it from fridge..its fine..You do not need to shake it...and yes, inject the same day every week..if you forget that day, take the next...
Can you put the cap back on after use? This stuff is coming out of the refrigerator at 36-42deg F. Inject it 'cold' at 36-42, or let it warm up to room temp? Definitely wash hands and alcohol wipe before/after. I don't have sharp disposal so I'll throw them in the sharps at the doctors office when I go there.
my pharmacist told me that you should take them out of the fridge and let them get a little close to room temperature before injections. Also to put the pen with the cap down will waiting so the liquid will enter the body correctly. I'm starting this week. I hope you are doing ok
@@billiejohoward7443 Hi! actually I was to scare and insecure so went for a 2nd opinion and they found out I'm insulin resistant so I started metformin instead. Actually I'm in a really low dosis and is going well.

In Facebook you can find several support groups. Make sure the injection is room temperature, if you can, ask someone to put the first one for you.

I just did my first injection a minute ago into my stomach and it was barely a pinch. Granted, I have plenty of cushion in my injection area, so maybe you ladies are choosing a bad injection area. I hope it's gotten better for you both since. I just want anyone who is reading this, probably filled with anxiety like I was about 5 minutes ago, that it's barely a pinch that last for 3 seconds. What about cleaning the area on you skin that you will be using for the injection?
Use medical alcohol pads or if you have rubbing alcohol put it on some paper towel or a gauze and use that to clean it before and/or after.
She should mention the grey plunger will be visible if injection is complete

Don’t forget to clean Your skin with an alcohol pad after you pick the injection spot and before you do the injection with the pen.

What if it doesnt hit a vein
it's not supposed to ever go into a vein, it's meant to go into fat, it's called a subcutaneous injection. if it goes into a vein you're screwed
