Thanks for another great vlog really enjoying the style . I’d like to see more on breeding corys please . I have a group of bronzes laying regular clutches of f eggs and I’m raising 3 lots of them now.
So since the rams like to change partners every once in a while, wouldn't it be easier to use a larger tank like a 29g long, or a 40g breeder. Then you could set up a bunch of well protectable areas, and put in like 4 males, and 8 females, and let them naturally rotate partners. Then you can just take out the eggs whenever laid and have less work pairing, and preparing tanks. Two 40g breeders with this method would be able to do like 8-10 of the work of those smaller tanks. I actually put discus, and angel breeding pairs together for this reason. They do naturally switch partners, and as long as their is enough room and sight blocks, then they dont bother the other breeding pairs. Also a piece of info ive learned about rams is they prefer driftwood for egg laying. Its weird but ive tried pots, rocks, plastic cones, etc. They will always choose driftwood for me. It seems others also have noticed this from conversations ive had with them and their rams.
PLecos need fast flow and highly oxygenated water. Add at least one power hea\d and place airline tube below the power head tobreak up the larger bubbles to make micro bibbles.
Add a small heater into your fry bins. I suspect they were moving to the warmest part of the bin, but it wasa not warm enough to start their internal metabolism. Fish like reptiles and amphibians are cold blooded for the most part.
Small handful of guppy grass or the likes in the spawn bin will help with stressed ram fry. Do you keep a lid on the spawn bins? I've been breeding kribs and with the next batch I'm hoping to start with some Julidiochromis. Best of luck!
Hi neck the German blue ram we bought from you spawning twice a month we are happy and they are happy with us too we enjoy looking after babies we always take away the eggs from parents maybe that’s way they lay eggs past 🙏
I always enjoy your videos, I breed lots of rams myself here in the US. A couple of comments, ideas, suggestions for you. I only use the meth blue for a day or so, then I dilute it with water changes until it is gone as the fry hatch. I have great success when the parents raise the fry, but that is not always possible. I think the water in the tray with the fry is too stagnate from what i see in the video. Deans fry system uses a water pump to slow drip fresh water from the tank in to the trays. If you can pull that off, I find it a very good approach. Finally, by keeping the fry in the tray for a few weeks, it keeps them closer to the food, making it easier to find. With the fry trays, you should be going for the larger volume of water from the tank, but keeping the fry in proximity to their food. After a couple weeks in the fry tray, I move the batch into their own 10gallon tank, then eventually into a 40 gallon or larger. Cheers
I'd love to see something on the prehistoric butterfly fish and how they breed also I was wondering if you sold direct to the public and what part of Australia you're in
Boil your indian almond leaves and cool them nefore adding. this will remove any potential pesticides and fertilizers, and other polutants. Do ot add the boiled water into your tanks. Water your house plants with it once cioled.
Hey I had a question do you think 5 tiger barbs 5 plattys 3 Cory’s and 2 mollys would fit in a 36 gallon or maybe replace the mollys with 4 guppies what will work best?
my pair always spawn on a big drift wood on the same spot. when there are better spots from a humans point of view lol the drift wood is on the center of the 40 gallon tank and therefore always get eaten by other fish.
Hello, im doing my research on this because i want to breed mi little rams, i have a pair, they eat a lot and they seem healthy, but its been 1 year and a half since i have them but i havent got any fry or even eggs, i have them on a PH of 7.5 tho, do you know whats the PH on your aquarium were they breed? Thanks.
@@ciber5650 Rams naturally live in lower ph water (Below 7) So that could explain why they have never spawned. if you lower PH be careful not to do it quickly because if they have lived in 7.5 for so long you dont want to shock them. Adding drift wood that releases tannin's could help.
So you don’t ship any livestock to the us? Dang I really wanted some fish that came from you I’m into breeding all the same types I’ve bred and been breeding easier fish to breed I am trying to get into placos and corys
Okay so now I have a question for you fish breeders. Currently breeding convicts. The parents spawn, have babies, what do you do you do with the parents. Leave em with the fry? Or remove them? I've removed them but they cause problems In my display tank each time they spawn..
Comment what you want to see next down below! 👇
Betta breeding
Have you thought of experimenting with marine fish, like clown fish?
Rainbow fish breeding harvest? Another Cory breeding attempt? Great vid tho

100k congrats mate🙂👍🏻⭐️💯
I have seen in other videos that adding some brine shrimp can help to induce spawning.
And anything on fancy guppies is a personal favourite ✌️

My new golden rams are doing well the tips in the video should help maybe breed and keep them healthy. cheers
Dont forget there is always letting them raise their own fry and see how they go.
What do you recommend to add into when I use RO water system please let me know I try to keep my ram lol
thanks bro i needed this
Temp an issue? My tank is heavily planted and lightly stocked with dither fish with breeding one pair. Hope the apistos are doing well?
I find when breeding plecos and cories, a water change with a slightly cooler water temperature will trigger breeding.
How long till the Apistogrammas would start being sold on your website??

Omg i wanted to say that same thing about the pantodon they're amazing but so finicky on breeding and no one has videos on the process or anything yet
Is that alright do like the bigfoot and the fishkeeping seen
What is the name of the plant that you are keeping in the ram breeding tanks???
The first Ram in the video has some fins that may be susceptible to fin fungus or fin rot.
What a great time for this video. I just got some very cool black rams that I'm hoping to spawn...

Hey, I was wondering what size your breeding peppermint bristlenose are? I have a young sub adult pair around 4 inches long..
Hey man a link to that ro device would be amazing

Try snakehead like kelaartii pulchra and other dwarf types very easy to breed
Can you please tell us the dimensions for the ram breeding tank?

Yea rams are weird, one of my tanks they have pots, a few pieces of drift wood, smooth stones.. but they choose the top of the sponge filter lol.

@@Bobby11 I will try to gradually add some driftwood and monitor my PH to see if it goes down, thanks for the reply.

Awesome
Great vlog! Is it possible that your floating fry had something to do with high water conductivity? (High TDS).
so many peppermints

Do you remineralize your RO water? Or Do you always use pure RO on your South American/ soft water types to spawn?
All the yellow panchax
Probably a dumb question but do you need to dechlorinate RO water? @keepingfishsimple
NO, it is similar to distilled water
I like yo have them hatch them and raise them for about 2-3 days then remove them
Awesome video Nick! Do you want to be a part of a fishtuber Coll@b that I'm doing? 😃
Any breeding on your camping trip? 😈
