I tried a short cable. Fire Stick powered on, but when I watched Netflix it crashed shortly after.

Not so. Depends on USB output on TV. Some of the high-powered USBs are Ok buy not the standard ones so be careful.

Hi Lasandra - many TV USB ports don't have sufficient power to to properly support Fire TV Stick which can result in resets and brownouts. With the Mission Fire TV Cable, you can be guaranteed that your TV can support the demanding power requirements of Fire TV Stick.

@@peterwelsh1932 I have an smallish, non-smart LG HDTV in my bedroom that I have plugged the Fire TV Stick into the USB port on it and it powers it with absolutely zero problems whatsoever. Your chances of running into a USB port that cannot power up the thing are damn near zero, in other words. The cable has jack all to do with it. Companies pawning off made up nonsense when it comes to how different technologies work really bothers me.

mine does most of the time, but at other times, it'll just randomly shut off a few seconds in. probably when it does something in the background

    Hi very costly
    In my mind costly

Unless your HDTV is some ten year old knockoff then it's severely doubtful you're going to have a problem. Oh and guess what, if getting such massive amounts of power was really that important then why, exactly, does the thing come with a USB cable and a fuckin wall adapter as the only power cable in the first place? Eh? Yeah exactly, because companies are full of shit.

Lol a 3" usb cable with a micro at the other end from the dollar store works just fine with my tv firestick. Only the gullible will make over priced scamming purchases.
