All I'm unhappy about is them getting rid of the campaign system. I think it sucks not being able to choose which campaign you fight in. Apart from that, im fine with the merge.
I'm not a fan of the merge for a few reasons -The research takes incredibility longer to unlock anything -The matchmaking isn't always the best -Your squad changes clothing depending on the map, which is fine, but ignores your squads customization without giving you a choice to play on that campaign -Now every battle is filled with real players, which is fine, but ruins a enjoyable aspect of having fun without sweating
When i first booted up the game post merge and realized that all of the squads i had spent over a year griding for to now only ever get sent to berlin and normandy, likewise to see marine raiders fighting alongside morrocan riflemen and desert rats, it really broke the imersion for me, not to mention it only seamed to help the germans as far as factions go, if your a werhaboo that wants to just snipe across the map with king tigers in battles that never had king tigers, then this game is for you, otherwise just be prepared for a nonsensical sweat fest, i tried to come to understand why they did it, i spent hours trying to reorganize my squads, but for all of that when i finally got to play all i could see was a janky buggy battlefield clone, it really made me sad, and angry, so i uninstalled the game, it used to be a good realistic shooter with close attention to detail, now its just trying to be like every other shooter thats already out there, and i dont think that the few new players coming to a three year old game are going to make up for the former player base they alienated with the merge.

@@Blvckguy I'm not sure how that supports your point. HLL gameplay is unenjoyable because you have to work together, and while that makes for great moments, it's really not what I want sometimes. As for a game like enlisted, there really isn't that much of a competitive market, BF5 was the closest match to the same gameplay pace, but it's super arcady. I'm a huge fan of historical accuracy, and while Enlisted wasn't that completely, at least they didn't have fucking Desert rats in Stalingrad.

As an xbox player,I can only be happy about the merge. No more battles with only a few real players (Tunisia,Pacific,Stalingrad), and the fact that now I can use again bolt action rifles lowering my battle rating is great. I can use again weapons and vehicles that otherwise would never have used again (mg 13 in tier 2 is a beast). So not saying its perfect,but its for sure a step forward
The merger was the best thing to happen to the game it's quicker to get late tier weapons and vehicles. But they definitely need to work on the BR system more.
Anyone that likes the merge is backwards. now there’s NO point in using weaker tanks as the strongest tanks will be going up against them. If they’re going to go through with this they should atleast only permit squads that ACTUALLY fought on those maps. The only faction I like now is japan. Germany and Russia and U.S. its all about who has the biggest tank. It’s like warthunder. I liked this game because it WASNT war Thunder it was a more fun he’ll let loose. And now it’s over
Agree. Totally ruined for me too. Kicking the teeth for all those hours and money spent over the years on the game for them to F it up so badly. Not playing it again until they bring campaigns back and make it more historically accurate.
Agreed, and just as always, the players who complained too much are the ones to blame. I was happy with the way it was despite the problems, mainly because you could hold your own, i was a Normandy grinder for axis, now my tree is a mess, i can't unlock the Panzerfaust and i can't fight the allies, always ending up with the Soviets and their ppsh spams, i used to always be at the first 1/3 of the scoreboard, now i am always along with the last... Why? Because i am constantly being thrown against the ppshs on soviet maps i don't have much knowledge on.
They've made an absolute mess of it, the campaign system was great for being able to play on preferred maps with mostly historic weapons, they've replaced it with the broken match making system from War Thunder that never worked there either, the research tree's and the unified silver currency is an omen of the awful monetization that's going to be coming, the small grind cut backs they made to War Thunder are basically at the sacrifice of increasing the grind for Enlisted
@Blvckguy Compared to War Thunder the monetization is so timid when you don't have to pay to spawn or pay to heal your soldiers after battle, with just a premium account you could get through campaign tree's fast enough, compared to other WW2 shooters on console I'd say the accuracy was fairly acceptable at least in campaigns you only fought with and against equipment that chronologically existed at the time even if it wasn't actually mass produced and in the case of weapons that never actually reached the battlefield I can live with that when it's for balance like with a lot of Japanese weapons
Ironically about the better team mates, I've found the complete opposite top tier allies I've had the absolute worse teams completely useless players mostly, at this point Japan is the only nation I want to play now since it's the closest to the old campaign having only to fight on Pacific maps against a maximum br just unfortunate I've nothing left to research for Japan for now
Tier III should be only aloud with tier II/I because I’ve been playing tier III Russia for a while & it’s pretty tough it’s a good thing I know how to hit some nasty flanks because I be going ham with my BT7 A lol
The biggest negatives of the merge in my opinion: - can't choose campaign - can't choose game mode - as br3 you can't choose if you go against high or low tier - overall broken immersion, like having the wrong weapons and equipment at the wrong theater of war
I had more exciting matches, i like i can choose my weaponry: bolt-action rifles against bolt action rifles or full-auto run and gunning. The matchmaking is faster almost instantl. I enjoy this more, but there are some problems. My biggest problem is the Br 3. I don't feel they can go up or down tier. My suggestion is that remaking the 3,4,5 and add a 6 br tier, so the matchmaking is 1-2,3-4,5-6. I think the merge is a big step in a good way and need to continue. Some of my friends who don't like enlisted, like it now for the more balanced low br. They are low br, but enjoying the bolt-action vs bolt-action gameplay.😊
There is a button in the top right corner of the squad list that allows you to sort what squad (machine gunners, assault, medic etc) and to the right it tells you what tier it is. Was able to reset my squad in minutes
I can actually play on the pacific maps and enjoy them. Now I dont gotta grind and grind just to unlock my first other vehicle other than the AA halftrack.
Merge has been needed. The nice thing is the devs went into this knowing they would have make improvements and changes. I say they have been doing this to some extent. So overall its good! 😊
The games are only full if you are playing with Germany. I'm still getting bots in every match with the Soviets. I get into games faster, but I keep getting placed in higher tiers with my BR 2 squads. I would rather wait longer, but be able to play against enemies with the same BR as myself.
I haven’t played a lot of Russia but max for any other faction been like 1:30 . I’ll pay attention over time . I think you’re in the middle levels where most ppl are in newer or veteran br5 queues

The merge is a good idea, but what I don´t like is that brits and italians are absorved by the US and the german army, and I think that they should be separated in different trees. Hear me out, it´s not that bad, it could make way for new campaigns like the invasion of Sicily or Operation Dynamo. I also think that those armies could fight along their allies in certain campaigns or battles, like North Africa, and it could also be good for future nation trees, like the romanians or the french.
I think the merge saved the game. I was getting kinda burned out before, but now it's a lot more fun. I've had fuller games too. t. 3 year Enlisted veteran
I personally think just 2 BR ratings would be better than what they have going right now . Just split tier 3 weapons/ vehicles in the middle and run with tier 1 and tier 2 ......... and absolutely no mixing of them 2 tiers ? I dont even look at my tier3 stuff anymore lol
To be honest I do think this update has ruined enlisted, at least the enlisted it was before. It used to be, at least somewhat, historically accurate and it was all about specific battles, areas, time periods etc with lots of immersion and simplistic mechanics and UI. However, now it feels much more of a mainstream, generic FPS game with MUCH less grounding in accuracy and actually feeling like you're in a battle, which was one of the things enlisted did so well, and so while the new enlisted might still grasp the enjoyment of players, it will be a vastly different audience because of how much it has changed. Unfortunately it may morph into another cod type game where realism is not considered whatsoever and priority is given to hyper saturated "gameplay".
@@Blvckguy I guess theatres would help, but it would still be soo much worse than campaigns. I want to be able to choose to fight in stalingrad, in 1942-43, with stalingrad era equipment. I don't want to have all of ww2 dumped into a melting pot and get a strange abomination of a battle. Having that be refined to all of the easter/western/pacific theatre would help, but not a lot. The system was perfectly fine before, I'm not sure why they fucked it. Also, bringing it to steam is a good idea but wouldn't really remedy the update or issues in any way, it would just bring more players. That rant aside, I do appreciate some of the good stuff in the update. The perk system is very good, and the research tree would be good, if it was refined for specific battles, e.g choosing to fight in the battle of berlin would give access to all equipment but fighting in moscow would only allow usage of the stuff they actually had at the time.
Idk why this video was recommended to me but looking at the gameplay, that gun recoil is the least realistic gun recoil I have ever seen. It makes no sense.

I am taking advantage of perks that my soldier posses to reduces recoil along with using an upgraded gun that also has reduced recoil along with crouching and proning to reduce recoil even further on top of my aim correction . What you’re seeing is not how it’ll feel if you start playing if you for some reason want hella recoil on your gun
The old system was shit, you could be campaign lv2-4 and face campaign lv18 guys with IL-2s and pz3 while you got nothing, no anti tank and your peashooter for quad 20mm doing next to no damage to the plane

yeah i expected a better implementation of the BR too, thats and the stupid map allocation is what messed up the merge hard atm
Fr devs talk about balance being more important than historic accuracy but tier III’s are up against tier V’s Br needs improvement

I would argue that the monetization has always been bad in this game , and it’s never been THAT historically accurate
