Welcome back to another episode where man and machine attempt to do battle with Haulover Inlet!
This episode we are back home at Haulover Inlet. Who will take the win this week between Haulover Inlet and the Boats?

The rules do say it’s an automatic loss though.

I can tell you for a fact there is a point of no return at Boynton, I used that inlet for 30 yrs, I'm sure it's the same at Boca on a rough day. Moved to Kentucky three years ago, no inlets, but have seen some comical things a lake boat ramps. Booze is universal, a commen denominator in fook ups. 😳

Glad to see the BTL Girls in PFD's and that only makes the guy with 3 youngsters in the bow look worse.
The last boat deserves a prize he did the right thing probably had to turn around to get new underwear
That second wave almost flipped them back :O Holy Cow that was seriously scary.
BTL is improving. I remember when they first got the larger boat, they didn't really have a handle on it. But now they look much more in control.
#5: even without the U-turn I'd give it to Boca. They survived it, but Boca showed them who's boss.

Always glad to see the BTL girls, although I miss hearing their screams and laughter. LOL
#5 did make it out without stuffing but Boca made them turn around and come back in so...I'm giving the win to Boca
Boca....there is never a time when it's OK to launch a hull vertical into the air.
1: It's ALWAYS good to see the BTL!!! Rarely have it seen them fail to dominate the day! Once, when they were in the 14' Whaler, their motor decided it couldn't take any more. That's pretty much it is
2: Pulling the patented Haulover U-turn, even at Boca, is an automatic L for #5.
Key West has a great rough water hull. Big flare at the bow keeps it very dry.
Boats Versus Boca? More like a side-show for an easy win for the Blue Top Legend. Those ladies know WTF they're doing and READ everything- and even suited up in PFDs in this heavier swell.. Speaking of- they're reading the swell, the winds, and the tide. They're no longer in that baby whaler flying on the swells; but you can tell they have a handle on the bigger boat's handling.
Dude that had the 3 young girls in the bow shoulda been ticketed. That's not just stupid, it's dangerous.
Win for Boca, but also a Win for the BTL.
Hey Bro, the boats took a LOSS in the 2nd round... there were kids in the bow without a life jacket and you gave them a win. That's a no go. And the last round, ,Boca smacked 'em down hard. AND they pulled the patented U-turn... Also a No Go! The boats take a big time loss on this one.
I'm with the other commenters. If number 5 kept going out then it would be a win, but since they turned around, it's a loss.

The Key West gets points for the near vertical wheelie and the hang time. That was wild. I don't think these people necessarily turn around out of prudence, I think they come out and make a pass through the inlet just for the heck of it and turn around.
Any day with the Blue Top Legends is a great day!
The last boat was a loss.the ocean barked and bit there last nerve off and flogged it till the yellow streaks ran down there legs.hence the turn tail and run home to mommie scooteli we just saw.😳⚔️🏴☠️🧐classic yellow dog move
The Grady White should have been a win, too. They took a small splash over the front they didn't stuff it at all.

I'm convinced people's brains fall out of their heads at the boat ramp.
The one boat had kids riding in the bow, with no life jackets on. Even if it was adults it was just stupid. Those waves can bounce you right out of the boat.

Nice to see the Blue Top Legends out again. Haven't seen them in a while. Also nice to see them exercising some caution and skill rather than just blasting through whatever comes their way.

Finally. They went a few years blasting in and out with no PFD's on. They got enough stick from TH-cam viewers they finally put them on.

U turn was past the outlet. The worst of the waves was behind them. No loss for the last boat.
That was a pretty good smack in round 5. There is no way that crew wasn't worried for a second there. Plus with the U turn, Boca wins.
As a sailor it's a whole different experience. Riding the waves into an inlet is the fastest that a keel boat will ever go if you have the wind behind you and the waves don't knock the wind out of the sails. As for my kids, they were NEVER above deck without a life vest unless the boat was tied up or at anchor. They loved to sit with their legs over the low side holding onto the lifeline. I would pinch it up tight heeling the boat over and the water would be above their waist. They loved it but any other adults in the cockpit didn't like the boat riding at a 45 degree angle.
Boca won the last round in that the captain really put his boat and passengers at risk.

The last one the boat won. They had to pull the U turn, as they all shat their pants when they air dried the prop.

Boca for the win- according to the rules if you make a u-turn you get the loss, as in Round 5.
They had the win but then they made the U-turn of shame according to your normal rules. So it’s a loss. Although when I was younger at Lake Worth inlet, we used it just the inlet on a rough day just to show we could do it and then come back in and not get beat up all day.
I see some comments that the last boat did u-turn so they should get the loss. I don’t agree. The turn seemed planned not forced. I call it a win. After they took the first hit they powered through the second. If they backed off they would have buried the bow and definitely taken a loss.
Making a U-turn is like leaving the ring during the fight, automatic DQ.

Boca wins. That last boat took a couple of good hits then turned around. Don’t blame them as it looked really rough offshore.
I would have said it was a boat win, they did well with teh waves, but then they did a U-Turn... so that turns it into a loss 🙂
I agree that they did a turnaround so usually that’s a win for the inlet, however it is my belief that they went out intentionally to jump and did so successfully, with that being said I am giving it to the boats. Also captain fail for almost killing those kids.

As impressed as I was with the driver of the last Key West, they DID pull a U-turn right after they cleared the breakers. Boca takes the win. I think you should change the rules for the bow-riders actually. If there is anyone all the way up in the bow (I don't mean riding on the coffin box) without a life jacket on or any kids AT ALL without life jackets, it is an automatic loss for that boat.

A real captain would rather worry about horse power (on command) than speed when confronting these waves. Maneuvering is just as important.
