Hey Matt, Just did the pluraeyes trial and loved it about to buy RedGiant but seen Pluraleyes is entering Limited Maintenance Mode for 01 feb 2023, one last year of support.
Thanks for sharing! I might have a simpler solution for your problem that you mention at 5:30 and 6:23. In stead of trying listen to every audio file to figure out which audio track did not get synced, you could in stead do this: 1) In the project panel, right click on the hamburger(three vertical lines after the project name), then 2) go to Metadata display, then 3) Tick on Video Usage, and on Audio usage, then 4) (optional) Expand the projet panel and slide to the right to find the Video Usage and Audio Usage and move them to the left to be visible also when the Project Panel isn't fully expanded. And boom now you can always see which video and audio clips are being used in any of the sequences. Clicking down on the drop down next to the used video or audio will show how many times it is used, in which sequence, and at what time in the sequence. I hope that helps. Cheers!
@@georgiko100 Hi, are they out of sync (does it show a little red time on the clip and the audio with how many frames out of sync they are), or are the video and audio files not linked at all (when you click on the video file, no audio file is linked to it)?
You can also add camera labels or angle names in the metadata panel. Ex: Cam A, B, C (You may have to reveal the column for this as the metadata panel does not default to showing cam names). That way each camera will stay on its own track in the multicam. If you are running any camera or recorder capable of timecode I highly recommend spending the money on timecode boxes. It will save you so much time in post and avoid the headache of having trying to sync shots with no audio or bad audio.
Is there a reason why when I use track e and label gopros a b c they have the additional Timecode software and put track e on label z They don't always sync. And rather than put new sync timeline in a new bin they put a timeline but without audio in the same bin as gopro so in other words it syncs the goptos to timeline but doesn't sync add the audio track. Can you help why not
Matt always seems to make some of the most ACTUALLY helpful tutorials. If you want to make tutorials, actually be doing real projects and learning a workflow, and then be like Matt.
I’ve been using Plural Eyes for years. It’s a God send! I don’t even want to think about doing it the old way anymore. I’m glad that premiere has something like it now. But it’s not better.
Plural Eyes saved my life! It synced audio from 2 Go Pros and an A7S3 for a 30 minute video I worked on in 2020. Would’ve been a time waster without it. Thanks for sharing this tip though, it wasn’t until now I knew Premiere could sync audio this way.
this seems great, but im LOOSING MY MIND trying to make this work lol. I make the multicam sequence using the setting you suggested. i crete a new sequence and "deselect" insert/ override. when i bring the multicam sequence in, it brings everything in as a multicam sequence?? i can get that to just work as a nest that" un nests" when i bring it in??? thanks
see when I try this...I only see a yellow MC clip and not all the videos. I can see the audio but I must be doing it wrong somehow. How do I show all the clips instead of just a yellow MC? It seems I have to select the camera angles for every take like I am not inside the MC but on the outside of it. Does that make sense?
For whatever reason everytime I try and drag the new multicam sequence into the timeline, it doesn't give me the camera angles on different layers. It still operates like a typical multicam sequence where I would cut all on one video layer. I've ensured that the "insert and overwrite sequences" isn't selected. Any thoughts?
Simplify sequence is such a interesting hidden (for me haha) feature, I always have so many video tracks stacked in a messy way after a big multicamera sync, can't wait to try it, thanks for the tutorial.
I’ve been using plural eyes for years I love that program! Another tip is that if you’re shooting mix frame rates like 60p and 24P it can create sync issues in plural eyes so what I do is delete the video and just have the audio and that seems to fix it. Then I add the video back in after it syncs.
I've had some issues with mixed frame rates as well. I found that if you set your sequence to the highest frame rate, in this example 60fps, then sync using plural eyes everything should be good.
@@adfgdfgd In the timeline select the audio clip and find the match frame. It will show the clip in the preview window drag it down to the track above the appropriate audio. IF you see +1 or -1 in red on the video or audio that's how many frames it's out of sync.
@@HiFocusedCinematography Thanks! Somehow match frame works only when restoring audio file. When I match frame to restore video part from audio clip, video icon is grey out in source monitor...😥
For everyone having struggles when inserting the new sequence to the timeline and only have one "nested" sequence without individual clips: You have to right-click the created Multicam sequence and choose "open in timeline". The "insert and overwrite..."- toggle seems not to work anymore with these kinds of sequences. :)
Hey @whoismatt , I tried this tutorial but when I drag my multicam clip over it does not look like the broken out timeline like yours. I had like 20 video clips and 2 audio tracks and when I drag the multicam clip over to the new timeline it is just one video track that is green and two audio tracks (which is probably correct and the lav mic) but none of the other camera source audio. I used the same settings as you did for the multiclip creation and "insert and overwrite sequences..." is not checked.
5:30 - actually, Premiere will tell you won't it if you enable the move processed clips to subfolder option when you have the synchronised window open. Alternatively, in the project bin panel, isn't there a tiny symbol in the corner of the icons that signifies the item is in any sequence (And how many times and which sequence at which timecode - it's a very useful feature, generally in Premiere for knowing which clips you haven't used yet or if they are used multiple times in a sequence)
Thank you Matt, your videos are lifesavers. I would have synced 80 clips from one camera one at a time on one long audio clip but this seemed to work well. It's so embarassing that Premiere makes things so much harder than they have to be when it could just be a couple buttons you hit like in FCPX, and clips it cant sync it will at least keep in your timeline so you don't lose footage you might need. I just don't understand why people like Premiere with all of its ugly UI and issues and why Adobe doesn't care to simplify things
Thank you! The only thing I see in these premiere tutorials is that everyone speaks veeeery fast. Speaking as someone who barely knows how to use the control button. Wishing for a video that doesnt take it for granted that I easily would understand the shortcuts in a high tempo! 😊😊
