Thanks for putting this video together. I found it very useful yo repair my eshifter which was stuck on the 4th gear. Do you recommend to put some sealant before putting it together to avoid water from getting inside? If yes, which one do you recommend?
The Motor isnt the problem most of the time. With Error 44 its most likely, that one of the 9 resistors on the PCB has failed. This is relativly easy to fix
@@danielkares5882 well - i should probably say, that it is easy to identify the faulty resistor. But it needs quite a lot expirience to solder a New one in. 1. Write all the numbers written in the resistors on the Board down. 2. With those numbers you can search the Internet for the siezes of the different smd-resistors 3. Measure each resistor. Find the faulty on. (Often R5 or R6) 4. Replace it
@@EbikeRepairs I would divide problems for 2 parts- electonic( which is random and most likely you don’t have impact on it) and mechanical- because of lack of torque sensor bike is gears are changed in wrong time, solution is manual gears changing, you can smoothly changing gears
With Error 44, if not a loose cable Connection, one of the most common causes is probably a failed smd resistor on the PCB. That ist relatively easy to fix, actualy.
If you can solder, then its pretty easy to fix: Often one (or more) of the smd resistors are failing. Measure all 9 resistors, and see, if the measurement is the value printed on the resistors.

Danke!
thankyou!
Are you able to repair vanmoof e-shifters?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO!
I'M LOOKING FOR A NEW OR USED E-SHIFTER FOR MY S3
DO YOU KNOW WHERE CAN I FIND IT ?
Sorry I'm not sure, vanmoof are having some difficulties at the moment... Keep an eye out on eBay!
Who is the manufacturer of this e-shifter? I know that VanMoof got it from a third party. Do you have any idea?
I'm very sorry but I don't know!

Did you open it and “unstuck” the 4th gear? Did you see something weird when you opened it? I thibk mine is stuck in 1st gear and should open it too.
Well done! I'm not sure really, I probably wouldn't seal it, but drill a drip hole. Moisture WILL get in but you want it to get out 👍
Jeez. I have a faulty e-shifter but no way am I taking it apart after seeing what's inside it! Thanks for video.
No worries! Glad it saved you the trouble of opening it up!
Looks like a cheap little motor you can find on line… wonder if that would fix it. Someone needs to try it and see
I'd love to see one fixed!

@@lukas-bv2ojAny tips on how? Would be greatly appreciated

you can recalibrate it - vanmoof have a video on how to do that (replacing the e shifter) it might work for you :)
Great video. What is main problem with e shifter and what is exactly weaker part of it?
Thanks! I'm not actually sure, I just took this one apart and didn't keep it or really dive in...

Have also error 44, any idears how to fix this component without replacing it?
Sorry I don't know how to fix it - only know that it needs to be replaced. :(
Got error44 too, nearly two month now. I also think about..

Is it just me or the video has no sound?
Yes sorry no sound! I don't know why but when I edited it it all got messed up
Well that is seven minutes I won’t get back
