You have to feel sorry for Wanda. A powerful being, probably one of the most powerful in the universe and the only thing she wanted was a family with Vision.
Sadly, this is accurate to her comics counterpart. Many believe her various mental breakdowns and overall bad luck when it comes to family relations were actually story trials before Marvel hit big with Jean's breakdown in the Dark Phoenix Saga. Still, my first memory of the character was her being purposely lied to by Tony Stark in regards to a fake wedding between him and Pepper Potts as a lure to separate the Mandarin from his 10 rings. Never would've guessed she'd be the headliner of her own show, but I'm happy I got to see it.

Wandavision was the best thing Marvel has ever done. The sitcom idea of different decades, costumes, jokes, scary elements everything about this show is so unique. It doesn't feel like Marvel at some point at all!
Wanda really like family sitcoms huh. Maybe because she always dreamed about that life of living in the suburbs. I really understand it because I kinda dreamed about that life even when I can't.
She's always wanted a domestic family life since she's never had that. Living in the suburbs, having a husband, children, friends and all that stuff is what she's always wanted. A 'normal' life. Unfortunately even when/if she does get out this fake reality this dream won't be achievable either
She lived in war-torn Sokovia. Her only solace as a child was watching American sitcoms which helped her learn English. But she loved sitcoms because of the happy family setting in all of them, something which Wanda has been denied of ever since her parents were killed in a bombing, Pietro shot by Ultron and Vision killed by Thanos. It's sad really.
Another thing I just noticed in the 80’s intro! The paintbrush at the beginning is glowing red, meaning it’s being controlled by Wanda. And it starts on Vision, even lingering on his face as if she was lovingly touching his cheek. Combine all that and you get the now proved fact that she created this Vision. She literally painted him in! Man this show is good (and I’m dumb)
“What if it’s all illusion”. Never thought to listen to the lyrics. Anyways I also noticed that the singer seems to become more distressed as the song keeps going on.
@@sapphireskittykat5016 And ? It's like Fietro said : "They are mind controlled, but couple stay together, they got better job, children are in stasis when not needed ..." You can't blame Wanda for people being unable to resist mind control.
This is prolly the saddest part of the rewatch. She’s literally recreating/regressing to only time in her life that she was happy. Watching these shows with her now completely dead family. All these theme songs become extra sad.
Yup, I didn't even bother watching the first three episodes of this crap show. They do a weird parody of sitcoms ... This crap is not for me. Then episode 4 happened ... and it wasn't just a stupid parody, it was a real story ... and I love it !!!! Did I call 'Wandavision' a crap show ... Well everyone makes mistake, this show ROCKS !
Irony is they could have used the original Malcolm in the Middle theme and the lyrics still work for the show. Though not as dark. For the Halloween episode though a redone Goose Bumps style opening with those lyrics would have been cool.
Wanda definitely has such a miserable life, her actions aren't justified and she done a lot of mistakes of course but she suffered a lot after losing all the people she loved. how can i not feel sorry for her?
What she did was akin to a non-super powered person shutting themselves in and becoming lost to fantasies. She finally broke after years of pain and trauma. Doesn't make what she did okay, but its understandable and relatable for some.
She also didn't mean for that to happen. She just got overwhelmed and her magic went to work. The only thing she's technically at fault for is knowingly perpetuating the issue, because she became aware that was actually happening a bit after it started.
coming back to this 3 years later.. WandaVision is so special. I've never watched any other show that made me feel the way this did. The detail that went into these (what could've been minor) things is insane.
Used to hate all Marvel movies but then WandaVision came along and, being a huge sitcom fan, I had to see this show. Amazing references and so well written and made. Fell in love with Wanda and Vision's tragical love story and here I am, waiting for Multiverse of Madness so eagerly. Thanks Wanda!
I love that harmonizing at the end of the 50's theme. This show as a whole is a step in the right direction for the MCU. Pretty sure that harmonizing will ne heard whenever the family appears in the future.
I love the Step by Step/Family Ties remake intro. Brings back so many warm childhood memories of those sitcoms between the late 80s-mid 90s. Almost brings a tear to my eyes.
After she visits his corpse and visit their plot for their future house, when she pulls out the " to grow old in" paper. It hits so hard how lonely she is.

I really want to watch this now. Whoever writes these songs does a great job making them sound like tv themes from different decades. That kind of dedication is something I really appreciate
They even closely matched the set design from the Dick Van Dyke show for the first episode! The amount of love and care put into each of the versions of the house is incredible.
@@IUsedToBeAnAdventurerLikeYou I was actually slightly annoyed by the fact that they didn't have a cabinet at the end of the kitchen island. The one that Richie used to hide in. And I kept trying to see if there was a big broom closet all the way to the right of the kitchen set (that Richie disappearance into once during a 'magic trick' moment with his dad.)
The outdoor shots for te '70s version are remarkably convincing. It looks as if they actually used the same film cameras that were employed during that time period, same color timing (now THAT is a real feat, as colour timing was traditionally done in the lab, not digitally, and had a very different colour scheme than today's color grading), and even same style of camera angles. Very impressive.
I really love how the serie made us remember a good era of family TV shows. I really miss them and watching this in Wanda-Vision's life was very nostalgic and amazing 😍
WandaVision genuinely was the best series out of all the Marvel television shows that rolled out. Simply because it actually explored a human theme, the stages grief. Nothing compared since then. It's amazing having characters with extraordinary abilities, but keep it grounded so viewers can actually experience something personal.
I really appreciate the storytelling contributions these intros make, in addition to just being beautifully composed. You can really tell from the 1980s theme in particular how centered in grief and trauma this story actually is. It's by far the most sombre.
Hollywood magic, baby! No matter how many decades pass, as long as they're valuable, the studios won't let their actors age! Hell, even if a couple of them die, they'll still be in the show! Or, at least, if they're unable to recast them anyway.
I haven’t watched a lot of sitcoms, and I could be wrong but: Episode 1: 1950’s, I Love Lucy? Episode 2: 1960’s, Bewitched Episode 3: 1970’s, Brady Bunch Episode 4: 1980’s, Growing Pains Episode 5: 1990’s, Malcolm in the Middle
I feel like it's a mashup of a few sitcoms.. especially the 80s one is basically a combo of growing pains + family ties + full house (same goes for the 70's one it feels like brady bunch but add the partridge family?) The last one is definitely malcolm in the middle (no doubt about that)
With the big reveal in episode 7, seeing all these theme songs together, it really shows how Agnes grows closer and closer to ingratiating herself into Wanda’s life with every next theme song. In 1, she’s absent. In 2 she’s just one of many cast members the two go past but she’s the only one to come in the house. In 3 she’s quite familiar with Wanda now. Despite her absence in 5 which focuses on introducing the kids, in 6 she’s elevated to family and full cast member status.
Notice how Agnes isn't in the first intro, then has a minor appearance, a more notable appearance, and then becomes main cast.
I don't think sitcoms like the Dick Van Dyke show showthe side characters in their openings either though

She's always wanted a domestic family life since she's never had that. Living in the suburbs, having a husband, children, friends and all that stuff is what she's always wanted. A 'normal' life. Unfortunately even when/if she does get out this fake reality this dream won't be achievable either
yup, being an orphan in a warzone tends to make you wish you lived like in those old american sitcoms!
how right you were
welp you predicted the future

@@musicalcacophony am I reading about me here? Are we real?
She also didn't mean for that to happen. She just got overwhelmed and her magic went to work. The only thing she's technically at fault for is knowingly perpetuating the issue, because she became aware that was actually happening a bit after it started.

WandaVision genuinely was the best series out of all the Marvel television shows that rolled out. Simply because it actually explored a human theme, the stages grief. Nothing compared since then. It's amazing having characters with extraordinary abilities, but keep it grounded so viewers can actually experience something personal.

Yeah but the 50's show played like a Dick Van Dyke episode for some reason. And the music sounds like his too.
