Great video Brandon! This unit look fantastic. These are definitely a gonna work well speed wise on the Alpharetta routes. Looks like I have to make a trip up to Alpharetta now lol! I noticed that you filmed him in the neighborhood we filmed the multitask in. Pythons have a great repair program through heil so if and when they need to be restored I think heil restores them for free. I hope republic keeps them this clean because I cannot get over how amazing this unit looks. Best looking truck I’ve seen in a very long time. Keep up the great work Brandon!
Thank you Axel! I agree, these look awesome. I sure hope so, one of the drivers said they are equally as fast, and maybe with more experience, the will be faster. That would be sick, there has been a good bit of new stuff pop up lately too. I’m actually surprised you recognize the neighborhood, lol, but yep, thats the one. I sure hope this yard takes advantage of that, It would be a shame to let them get all wobbly. I couldn’t agree more, these look absolutely fantastic. Thanks! :)
Fun video these are awesome! So jealous they got new Macks for you guys and on top of that they got them with green bolt checkers... the driver really knew how to run the truck well too! I would think he'd be a little rusty considering it's LHD and brand new on top of that but really showed no signs of slowing down. Love the BFI carts as well, nice little throwback to what sounds like similar looking truck from back in the day. Awesome video!!
WMmaster626 Thank you! I couldn’t be happier that we got Mack’s, I love them. These guys are absolute pros, and I was impressed to see just how fast they picked up on them. They also have been driving LHD trucks for many years now, so that wasn’t actually a real adjustment for them. But still doesn’t make getting used to them any easier. I love the BFI carts too, I tried to get as many on film as I could. Thanks! :)
What a great change up from the ZRs. Even more so on a TerroPro! Very neat to see this yard still buy diesel. Sucks the 7000s are being phased out. So they still have those nice Robertson Sanitation RLs?
Solid Waste Entertainment this yard has a few that run bulk. My area has the most Robertson trucks that run regularly on trash routes. They mostly run in Clarke county because they’re required to run trucks under the Robertson name. They don’t 100% follow those rules but they run about 5 or so Robertson trucks in Athens.
Solid Waste Entertainment Thank you! :) These are pretty cool. Yep, no CNG here, not even WM. Sure does, 7K’s were my childhood trucks. At this yard, we have, I believe, 3 Robertsons, 2 32 Yard MR’s and they just transferred a Granite Robertson back to us, after they sent one away, last year.
You guys are lucky to get some of these, they dont want to buy new Pythons down here despite the fact that they are faster than the ZRs and more affordable. A driver said the new ZRs were way too over priced. They said the new quote Heil gave them was a lot lower than what they got from McNeilus. Give the drivers some time, im sure they'll get used to these trucks and like them. They are pretty fast and with time i bet they will learn to double grab. How old are the 7000s again? They still looked in perfect condition from your video.
TheNVTrashMan Thank you! That is actually really surprising, considering you already have some Pythons and Lake Havasu just bought Heil trucks, so it seems dealer support isn’t an issue. Maybe the long standing relationship with McNeilus in Vegas sealed the deal? Double dumping would be neat, surprisingly, I have never seen one of our drivers do it though. The 7000’s are 2011’s. They run really well and have extremely little problems, in fact, one just got a new arm. So they will be great county trucks. Thanks for the comment. :)
Does republic services require you train in another state when you first get hired, like waste management does? Or do they just put you with a driver for a few weeks?
Wow, you lucked out in my opinion. Pythons are slowly going away, so this was a treat to watch
These, while not my favorite, aren’t too bad. Thank you! :)
They are not going away lol. They are the most bought heil product!
Awesome video! Cool to see the variety of carts! And you gotta love that shiny new truck.
Andrew The Trash Kid Thank you! :) Yep, the cart variety is pretty awesome in this city. Unfortunately, the cool ones are disappearing fast.
