Good Hot Air Station is only 100-150. If you desperate, 858D still will do the job for 30-40. Cheapo 50 soldering station, heck I've been using Hakko clone that cost me 10 for countless microsoldering job. It's 200 top.
Really what's happened is WiFi/BT IC has most likely become non replaceable if it's now bound to CPU or EPROM. So one service has become a few steps easier but another is no longer possible.

Its funny that after he does the install of the 256 chip, and he is setting up the device, it shows 64gb just for a second! take a picture of the info on the screen, and compare it to the info once it says 256. the modem firmware changed.. its not the same device. it has just been flashed with the same serial number, and wifi numbers.
Anyone notice that at 5:19 after the NAND upgrade the capacity status still says 64GB? YET shortly after says 256GB. So I believe this video is fake HOWEVER I do know NAND upgrades have been done before yet this video seems fake
Unfortunately, iCloud locking is tied to the serial number. In earlier videos, they could change the serial number on the NAND to bypass an iCloud lock, but as the serial data is no longer stored on the NAND, this is now likely to be impossible.
So now it’s impossible to unbind WiFi because it’s stored not on the nand, is that correct? So you’ll run into issues if you need to replace WiFi ic? Cpu not readable, writeable or replaceable so if it’s stored there this is going to make it impossible to unbind, so if you change the WiFi ic it won’t activate, is that correct?
Yeah we are doing this in are store here in Kosovo State for cheep price no need to spend lot of money in apple storage they are really crazy with the prices

Not necessarily impossible. Just spend about $3,000-$4,000 on micro-soldering equipment, and practice on dead boards. Defense out of reach for the average consumer.

@@bacphan7582 you can possibly do the same thing, but most likely not a long-term repair then. $100 would at least just go towards the total of a microscope. If you are doing micro-soldering without even using a microscope, then your not even doing micro-soldering, your just soldering. You have to keep in mind you have to be prepared to do many repairs (if you are a or want to become a professional) meaning that you have to have every tool possible for any circumstance. You can’t just assume every phone that comes in would be an iPhone, let alone just a back-light filter replacement. So $100 for NAND swap? That is very unheard of and mostly unlikely. If you do these repairs by yourself just for “$100” then I worry for your customers.
