Looks like this is good method for repair of burnt charred board substrate, missing pads and traces. The combination of solder mask and the soldering lugs. REAL good stuff here!

It seems like there is more space to cut in the opposite direction on the refox copper to save more copper being thrown away... it's a good idea but might need to rethink the cutting shapes, position and less wastage will be great.

Does it work with iPad Air 1's charging port though?
In 2019 I opened that iPad Air 1 and ripped the charging port SMD from the board.

buy some cheap cpu for 20€ and you can fix ~1000 other amd cpus with it. it´s worth the money.

Is it not recommended to use soldering iron on the first type of pad repair?
If the connection was good would these hold up to multiple insertions on pci-e bus?
That solder mask goes almost rock hard when cured so yes , it should stand up to that sort of use for quite a while

If I can make a suggestion for a later or premium tier revision: make one like it that comes with a 130-150°C, rapid Thermo- _set_ epoxy backing. Or includes a small vial of such epoxy with applicator suitable for the small size dimensions we work with here. The temperature range is so you can activate the epoxy without needing to go so hot you risk solderballs squeezing out in the surrounding area or on the other side of the board.
