    Made takeaway, first 3 feet, a pre-shot routine for every shot. Hit the ball so well, made a huge difference. On plane and tempo so much better. Thanks guys.

    I went to the range yesterday after a three break and had a swing like an octopus falling out of a tree! Watched this video and tried the drills, the split hands drill was a real eye opener, I kept me from folding my right arm too soon. Thanks you meandmygolf 😀 I hit a few sweet 4 iron missiles and even hit a few high bombs drives! I'm staying with these drills, they've given me a little confidence back

    Great lesson. As a six handicap who has worked hard on the take away, I had thought mine was spot on. I immediately spotted the error, and a simple adjustment to ensure my club face was aligned with my spine on take away was enough to greatly improve my ball striking today. Even in wet conditions, my irons were solid all day. Excited to continue working on this to see if I can shave off a couple more off the index.

    This is the single biggest thing I'm trying to learn. Not the inside takeaway that has become habit. I think the grip pointing at hip and the stick almost attached to left hip are what I'll try to implement. Thanks guys.

  • @pmoneyish6869

    The biggest thing I think ppl miss is that around 9:40 marker of the video that it's OK to have that upper body come off the ball a little to promote that big turn of the torso. People tend to want to stay directly over the ball and that limits a nice big torso turn. That come off the ball a little big torso turn I think is something that catches people by surprise. It 100% feels more powerful and under control vs the arms takeaway but they were always told to not come off the ball like that. But as noted the amount of power and consistency that generates is insane! From that position once comfortable you'll feel like you can just rip it without even thinking much about the downswing.

    Hi great demonstration. thank you. Today I went to golf course (it has been a while). Usually from mat with my 7 iron, balls are reallly going high and long, but on the grass, some balls went very flat and some short and very flat, basically stayed on the ground (all straight) What do you think could be the real reasons according to your experience? Thank you so much.

    What feels should we have in the back swing? Today at the range I found that feeling a stretch down my left side from shoulder into left thigh muscle when at the top of the swing and getting my right palm facing up also really helped with my consistency. All I did from there is turn my hips to start the down swing and everything fell into place. For the first time in a long time I hit 4 straight drives in a row. Try it and let me know if it works for you.

    Can you help me please. I'm a nick faldo fan and bought books videos when David leadbetter coached him. I am 58 and find rotation of my torso and hips difficult . Leadbetter said resist the rotation with the right knee. Don't straighten the right leg on the backswing. I can't get round if I do this . Could you do a utube piece on this topic and show how much I am allowed to straighten my right leg on the backswing to get my hips round. I'm currently getting hardly any hip turn. Thanks.

    If you pause the swing at 7:49 or so his end of the club does not aim at the hip but rather the flag. Just look closely. And he hits a straight shot. He did rotate his wrist in the takeaway slightly so now I’m slightly confused. I rotate my wrist and I thought this is the biggest contributor to my slice but seeing him hit that stellar shot makes me think otherwise

    My biggest issue is my takeaway.... with my swing in particular I need to make sure that when my club head is parallel with my hands I keep the face open.
    If my club face is in line with my spine angle, my club face ends up being super shut on impact creating a 40-60yd pull which absolutely kills me. I can’t seem to master the takeaway in order to keep my club face open.

    Andy, Piers... HELP!! I recently had a swing lesson to help me use the ground more in my swing. It was all going along so great and right out of the blue the dreaded S-K-A-N-K-S (I refuse to use the real word) came into my life!! That’s correct... from hitting towering beautiful 7-irons from 165 yds to the cursed skanks. I don’t get it 🤦‍♂️

    • @adamhussein5947
      @adamhussein5947 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I will give you some tips because I had the same happen to me recently. It happens, just know that. You’re going great and suddenly you just suck. Don’t get angry, don’t panic, but just take a break. Working your body too much may influence that because your muscles have become over-worked. Then, when you come back after a few days or so, focus on the form. Do not try to put much power as you used to. Do short and slow shots, trying to focus more on getting the form right because, hey, the only reason why you shank is because something in your form changed. This helped me a lot. I was hitting over 200 yd drives (I’m 16) then suddenly one day they were severely getting shanked. Once I just took a few days worth of a break, practiced slower shots, I was back on track. Try my advice above and see how that works.
