I love that Aos doesn't drag the mysteries like every other show. Like in season 2: episode 10: Skye becomes inhuman. episode 11: Fitz finds out. Episode 12: everyone finds out too. Season finale: Jemma is being swallowed by the rock. Season premiere: Fitz is looking for Jemma. Episode 2: they got Jemma back. In every other show, they would make a huge deal with dragging the secret/rescuing Jemma/anything else really for half a season but Aos resolves things quickly. And I love it because they don't make an unnecessary drama just for the shock value.
Yes, this is something I have been wanting to say for a while. Things are always progressing. Even everyone finding out Ward is Hydra, we find out at the end of 1 episode, and the next episode everyone else finds out. other lesser shows would have reveled he was Hydra very early one, and every episode have him almost get caught until the team finds out towards the end. The way AoS does it is so much better. And for Gemma getting swallowed up by the portal rock, they would have dragged them getting her back for at least half the season, but AoS is better then that. They bring her back right away to introduce a better story around the mystery of the Rock.

What’s is key is that they have small storyline inside of a bigger overarching one. All link together. The smaller story/mysteries are solve partial as it links to the bigger story. Then there is a bigger storyline milling in the background that pops in and out.
exactly! and we get explanations for her time in maveth, and how this whole thing is going to be important for the hive plot later in the season. the writing on this show is always so good
I love how Mack always comes up with nicknames for people. He called Fitz Turbo all last season. Now we have him calling Daisy Tremors.

Lincoln is a recovering alcoholic. John was his sponsor.
Lincoln didn't kill John by shocking him. John had a heart attack - John was afraid of Lincoln when he learned that Lincoln was "an alien", and then when Lincoln showed his powers, it just stressed John too much.
(I really appreciate how Lincoln is written. He's written much more like a real person than many characters are.)
I'd definitely say that getting shocked just a tiny bit through the metal bat could have caused a heart attack, or damaged a pacemaker or something...
Ward bringing Tacos and saying "i brought tacos" is a reference to when Garret did that to him, back in the forest. Ward was really shaped by Garrets and his values, showcasing itself in what he does in this episode and how he treats werner strucker. (Also isnt it cool to expand the world more, and introducing Baron struckers kid?)
For me, 3x02 is the quintessential "standard" episode of AoS. It's a perfect example of the show firing on all cylinders.
The reason why Daisy was affected by the things is pure physics tho, what makes a nose bleed is not exactly a sound, is frequency, for the other didn't do nothing but for her was probably higher because she is connected to those frequencys so she feels and hears those frequencys, like when she was talking to jaying and said dhr could hear the mountain

After watching the show a couple of times and many reactions, I finally worked out why Simmons reacted the way she did when she looked at the wine. Damn.

Okay, so watched your reaction to the Echo trailer (also watched it on my own and it looks incredible), and one of the characters, the bald antagonist guy in the skate rink looked SO familiar and I looked him up cause I thought he was in something I'd seen.
He played Luther Banks in Agents of Shield, the second to Rosalind at the ATCU. (!!!!!!) WTH

i remember watching this live and SWEATING during the entire sequence of fitz trying to pull simmons back lmao
also the way mack just hauls fitz out of that box like he weighs nothing cracks me up every time. and i love these last two episodes establishing a little fitz/bobbi dynamic. this show is so good at pairing up characters and making you invested in their relationship with each other whether it's platonic or romantic. this cast just works so well together.
About the reaction of Peter McNicol when Coulson tell him that Daisy is an inhuman, remember that, back then, The Inhumans was a big project inside Marvel Studios, so it was intended that the introduction of the concept in AoS would make the series quite important, something that Kevin Feige didn't allow (he still doesn't)
Black Bolt appearing in the Multiverse of Madness movie, played by the same guy who portrayed a variant of the character in that godawful ABC TV show, tells me that Feige isn't as down on the Inhumans thing as MCU fanboys would prefer to believe. There's a place for the Inhumans in the MCU but I suspect that it will have to wait until mutants and the X-Men have had a chance to bed in first.
John was Lincoln's sponsor. "Talking someone off the ledge" is a phrase AA uses for the role of Sponsor to Sponsee. The "ledge" being a reference to taking a drink, or some other drug.

Your rant about video game controllers is much like how I react to how TV and movies get CPR wrong. Every. Time.
To be fair, it's not really important to the story, so the actors are probably just told to "look like you're playing video games," - after all, what would be the point in having them waste precious time devoted to character building or plot on something as mundane as entering a menu to start a new game? It's basic movie-making shorthand: gets the point across, without wasting time on accuracy... the same way you see characters "driving" cars by just turning the steering wheel back and forth, or science people doing science-y stuff by mixing fluids in beakers or whatever. It's not important, and everyone watching understands what is happening even if it's not done correctly.
That said, in the case of CPR I feel like a certain level of accuracy would be good, since that's kind of important for people not to get the wrong idea about.

About people playing games in movies: Since it's not really important how they play - since it's not story relevant - the only thing the audience really needs to know is that they're playing a game... and taking the controller and just starting fiddling with it gets that message across easily enough, there is no reason to waste precious screen time actually showing them playing the game properly. Yeah, to us gamers it's like nails on a chalkboard to watch, but it's effectively just movie-making short-hand... the same applies to other things, like when background characters do science-y things in the lab, or characters drive a car: They don't actually need to do it believably, since it's not important to the story, they just need to let the audience know what they're doing.

BTW, during 1853 stone ceremony you said you'd claim color blindness if you got the white rock. Ummm.... That's not how it works. Color blindness doesn't mean you don't see color. Colors are just muted and hard to distinguish. Orange may appear to be brown...etc.

I feel like he's the "default" actor chosen in every role that requires some kind of "wise/funny elderly Asian guy" - I've seen him in so many shows and movies, I can't even start to list them.
@LadyDoomsinger it's his voice. It carries equal parts wisdom, and humor. Not a super common trait, but the qctor has learned to mold it masterfully.
John and Lincon do have a great relationship, but the guy is still human. To me it feels like an AA sponsor/sponsee relationship.

There were so many. It starts with the horrible decision to try to set up both the lame "Inhumans" show and "Most Wanted' spinoff. The pilot for the spinoff is rumored to be so terrible, it's never been seen or released to the public. That's because they chose one of the worst characters of AOS to co-star in it imo. Then you have the personal addiction problems that got the actor who played the Astronaut fired midseason. That caused massive rewrites for the second half of the season. Those rewrites led to some character personality inconsistency. I'm trying to be as vague as possible in case a new AOS fan reads this ✌️

Hunter, dirtiest player in the game.
I really wish they hadn't said "carbon dating." You can't carbon date sand, and those things you can carbon date you can only use that method for things up to 50,000 years old. There are methods for dating rock. Wish they had used those other methods.
I gotta say, I prefer Tremors to Quake.
Where S3E2 was my favorite of the season, episode 3 might be my least liked episode. Never liked Hunter, never will. And sending a mercenary after a Hydra/SHIELD agent is beyond dumb. Grant would destroy Hunter in every possible way. Just had to get that off my chest as we continue down S3 ✌️😎
In general, I agree that 3x03 is a weak episode, a definite step back into the conventional network TV fare of season one, but I don't think that I will ever agree with your negative view of Hunter.
