The AOS addiction coming out full force rn
A bunch of scenes of 4x22 were cut on Disney+ because they were too brutal (I guess?). But you can still watch the full episode everywhere else. Just wanted to let you know✌🏻
Fun fact, this is not Davis first episode. he actually had a scene with Fitz and Simmons in season 1 episode 9, which is cool. (And he is married to the actress who played Daisys mom).
I love side agents like Davis and Piper. They make the agency feel real.
FYI, The reason this episode is more bloody is because ABC sent AOS to it's death timeslot (very few shows last more than a season in that time slot), much later at night
So the producers decided to take it as an opportunity to make the show darker
I think the reason the show managed to survive the death slot (even though the writers were sure they'd be cancelled after season 5) is because the ABC head of programming eventually left and went to Netflix...and cancelled all of the Defenders Saga shows one by one. Take this with a grain of salt, but that's the best I've been able to piece together. This would be the same person who nixed Most Wanted.

I think i heard a rumor that someone at Disney demanded at least one Marvel show on ABC, and after the flop that was Inhumans, Shield was chosen as the show that would remain, while they tried to sell New Warriors off, and cancelled Agent Carter and passed on Most Wanted and Damage Control
@@jesusramirezromo2037 If someone at Disney had to demand that there should be one Marvel show on ABC, the implication is that someone at ABC didn't want any.
And yes, the creation of Disney+ obviously contributed to Netflix's decision to kill all the Marvel shows (and so did probably the tension between Kevin Feige and Ike Perlmutter at the time, and I don't know how long Jeph Loeb had been talking about leaving, but that may or may not also have been a factor), but it's not like they couldn't have made a different decision. They could have viewed keeping those shows around as a way of keeping people from cancelling their Netflix subscriptions in favor of Disney+. Instead they took the first excuse to break up with Marvel. And it just so happens that a certain former ABC head of programming was there at the time. Maybe that's just the Yoko factor and the writing was on the wall regardless of who had been there, we might never know, but it certainly looks like someone didn't like Marvel.

I still cant get over how good they managed to make Ghost rider look, both the transformation and after, on a Network TV budget nontheless. Its like Hive only not just in one episode, lol. And the first introduction with the flipping car, is epic.
They somehow embodied “I done fucked up” into his music perfectly. The skin burning off and the simple yet effective theme, it just works!
S4 is when the show was moved to a later timelsot, and truly embraced the mature ratings that allowed it to be the 🐐 👍😎
Ian (the actor who plays Fitz) shows a whole new level of depth and range in this season. You have a lot to look forward to
I came into this with Coulson being my favorite character in the MCU. But for me, Fitz is far and away the best part of AoS.

This is post Ultron. At this point, the in universe world is extremely skiddish about AI, so saying AI is banned…not a stretch. If the world’s government found out about AIDA they’d shut the shit down fast.
I really like the catch up montage intro. That was epic. You should definitely do something like that for the 100 th episode (5x12) or the series finale if you want too. Because this was cool and got us in the right mood for this awesome season.
Robbie/Ghost Rider is played by Gabriel Luna who is Tommy in TLOU. I was hoping you’d recognize him but he’s looks a lot younger in this.
I recognize him in ep 3, but yeah I had no idea during the first 2 episodes
Gabriel Luna also starred in a little-known series that only got 1 season called Matador where he plays a DEA agent that goes undercover as a professional soccer player for a team based in LA.
11:40 I remember you saying 2 seasons ago about how Coulson is always wearing suits. He bounces back and forth in S3, but here is where he truly gets his badass civilian look

This show is, to me, infinitely rewatchable. For various reasons I didn't watch past the first episode live. Then, a few years ago I decided to go back and give it another go - Coulson was always my favorite MCU character. Binged seasons 1 through 4, then binged 5 once it was over. Then re-watched the whole show before watching seasons 6 and 7 live. Ever since then, I've been compulsively searching for and watching reactions. I'll start a new reaction channel before I finish the series with another and watch them concurrently. Somebody else recently started the show and he's in early s2 - I'm watching that now, too. It's just such great material.

Just to clarify a bit on the new status quo with shield. So last episode, the base was overun with primitives, so Coulson needed Talbot and the militaries help to come clear it out. And then i guess you could say he never left. Though i guess its more that the episode saw that big old mess and decided to not let shield be independent anymore, and instead just combine Shield and the ATCU now completelly under the government. I think thats more or less how it went down, unless anyone want to correct me.

*_Fun fact: When this season aired, they moved the show to 10pm so that they could slip in a few more bloody, violent and mature visual shots; hence why we saw the explosion of Blood as Ghost Rider killed those goons et the ultra-sexy shots of Daisy in her lingerie! The move was a double edge sword back then as while it brought all those more R-Rated elements which fans who watched loved, some of the viewership didn’t follow to those late hours and so their number of viewers took a hit, even though those who did watch raved about this season_*

This is the best season. S5-S7 are just as good quality wise, but Season 4 is like THREE seasons in ONE.
i’ve had the opportunity to talk with the cgi vfx god Mark Kolpack back in 2020 and he told me that he’s only regret in designing the ghostrider was not showing the smoke from flaming tires. when you’re done with the show i can link you a thread with some of the crazy vfx techniques that the show used with the budget that was getting progressively smaller with each season

I think most people regard Daredevil season 1 (or 3 depending on who you are, or both for that matter.) Jessica Jones S 1 and Agents of Shield season 4 as like the absolute peak top S tier of Marvel Live action TV. Things like Loki season 1 or 2 or Wandavision is absolutely very good as well, but they dont reach quite this tier of Marvel TV. At least in my opinion, but i think most people agree overall with that.
Most people consider Loki and WandaVision in the same category, though personally I only think Loki deserves to stand alongside them.
I agree 100%. DD, SHIELD and JJs1are top, top tier.

Welcome Gavin to the GOAT season 4. You may have thought the show was good until now, but you haven't seen nothing yet. Previous seasons may have been peak Marvel tv, but this season is straight up peak TV.

In all seriousness, season 4 is awesome, I just finished it up on my rewatch last night, you're going to have so much fun with it.
Seasons 3, 4, 5, and 7 are all some of the best seasons of TV you can watch, and while season 3 is my favorite of those, everyone has their own opinion on it. I've seen so many people say season 4 is the best, so many will tell you season 5 is the best, and so many will tell you season 7 is the best. As such, I'm going to be very interested to see when the sun comes up, which one ends up as your favorite.
Its hilarious that I've never heard a single peep about Season 6. I've never heard anyone even mention its name like its Voldemort or something. I don't want to hear about it but I'm actually really looking forward to it now just for that reason lol
@@JustGavinBennettnot sure if you watched Avatar but it's kinda like Legend of Korra. They were supposed be cancelled after Season 5 (kinda like Korra season 1) so the next season'a writing was rushed.

I don’t pay to play it and at one point I almost had all the cards but they come out with 1 every week sometimes 2 a week at the start of a month, so the collection just keeps growing and growing and it’s hard to keep up, but yeah playing it free to play is very fun

I don't know if you have figured it out yet, but Robbie's brother also played in Fear the Walking Dead. He was Chris, Travis's son. That's where I know him from. I think he went straight from Fear to SHIELD.
Yeah I think I say that in the end discussion or right when he appears, or at some point in the first 2 eps I notice. And then in episode 3 I notice who Robbie’s actor is from The Last Of Us
