So Elizabeth Heinstridge (Jemma) was actually sick/had a cold when they filmed this, which is why her voice is so weird. But it actuall ends up adding to it, considering she just took over a dead body and all.
@@David-bf2cg It's way more emotional and tragic. I love how depressing it is and how the trying to save the world feels like ineviteble failure. I would say that season 5 had the best character development. They did so many interesting things with the characters. Like Coulson coming to terms with his death, Fitz and doctor Fitz blending together, Yo-Yo thought that she can't die, Talbot going nuts, Daisy trying to save Colson whatever it takes, May becoming mum for Roman and a lot more. I always liked the character aspect most about this shoew and I think that season 5 is best at it. Also season 5 feels so inescapable because it uses s ton of stuff from previous seasons. In case no one mentioned, the reason Phil was able to believe it and remembered easier is because he went through the Tahiti project and his brain was tampered with. So his brain is less connected to the framework because it has more cracks in it. And it is cracked in a unnatural way so even Aida entering him in taking into account brain damage like Fitz it’s still different because Phil’s brain wasn’t damaged but actually edited. He had more gaps for his other life to slip in. I also believe it is why Fitz seems to recognise Simmons a little bit. Because of his brain damage because if you notice May, Mack and Mace don’t have a single inkling that things are different. I know Fitz has a bit more outside knowledge because of Ophelia, and knows it’s a simulation but it seems his brain damage made the veil between his normal life and this life a little bit thinner. As he clearly recognised Simmons. But because his brain damage was a more natural one is why I think he didn’t recognise and change the same way Phil did. Because for Phil his broken brain stuff made him already suspicious of the framework and reality.
Elizabeth was sick during the filming of this episode which as bad as it sounds, it makes it so much better considering Jemma has literally come back from the dead

Teacher Coulson has obviously been thinking a lot and secretly questioning the Hydra propaganda, but he is also drawn subconsciously to certain names and words. "Winslow" in the title presumably referred to the location, but the name resonated with Phil for some reason - probably because "Dr Winslow" was Cal's new name after he underwent the TAHITI program.

Among the many things the "Framework" arc does brilliantly, I especially love how it explores the ways that experience and circumstances can shape what kind of people we become, while still leaving certain essential qualities intact. FrameworkWard is still loyal, resourceful, dedicated, and skilled at violence - but now he's also kind, principled, and with an un-stunted sense of empathy. And FrameworkFitz is still brilliant, creative, and deeply emotional - but now he's also cynical, angry, and almost incapable of admitting vulnerability or uncertainty.
Framework Ward punching Vijay Nadeer so suddenly to silence him is reminiscent of when Ward shot the fake "Clairvoyant" back in season 1, just this time Framework Ward actually works for Shield.
The entry that you read about Jemma that Daisy found in the Hydra database is an obituary that says she died in a tragic outbreak of biohazardous gas and that she's buried in UK was obviously a lie and a cover-up, as she has actually been shot, along many others, and buried in a mass grave. The article Coulson found is probably about a different but similar "accident" (since the number of victims is very different) that conveniently took the lives of people Hydra wanted dead. Love the little world building like that. Also the guy who is dead in the mass grave beside her, I think is supposed to be death lock, if you look he has a metal eye or something.
Fun fact: The CGI model of the Triskellion is the exact same one as the one seen in CA: TWS. It was "loaned" to AoS by the VFX studio that built it for the movie.
I'm not a fan of love triangles, but the way AOS does them with Fitzsimmons is pretty great. Getting a good Grant Ward was really cool, feels like an interesting coda to the character and was kind of cathartic to watch as a fan, even if the initial betrayal still stings 10 years later. It's also interesting to see how they bring back certain characters in this, and the fact that they were able to get so many actors back feels like a real testament to how much the people who worked on the show loved it. Great reaction as always!
yeah, felt the same! it was like a Ward redemption arc...and *spoiler* in an upcoming episode getting a proper goodbye to a character that we lost kinda suddenly and who died for nothing
i love how the writers were able to put obstacles in fitzsimmons’ relationship without being corny or obvious (which is something tv shows used to do in 99% of the time). they pulled up the "love triangle" thing twice, while it wasn't exactly a love triangle and the two being completely different from each other plotwise. they always did great!
You maybe saw it better on a rewatch, but at the end, you sort of paused through the answers to your questions. Aida told Leopold that she had closed a loophole for their escape, which is why the button didn't work to wake them up.

I think Aida is the main reason why Jemma is dead in the Framework, she is in control of the whole 'world' so would make sense that she'd kill Jemma off. And now that Aida has cut their escape route, Skimmons are going to have a hard time working this all out!
I don't know that that was deliberate. Gemma was dead innthe Framework because she was working at the Academy when Hydra attacked. Remember that Gemma was always supposed to be put into the Framework.
I do think Aida tried to replace her, it's sort of obvious from how she introduced herself to Fitz in the Framework. However I always thought the way all of them ended up were they are was just dominos effect/ mathematical projections. Considering Fitz's biggest regret took him all the way back to childhood so their lives had to be re-written all the way back, and May's regret altered the mcu canon regarding inhumans and the role of Hydra, the progression is in some cases seems Random (like the change of who mentored ward) but in general I think it can feasibly thought of as just logical conclusions.
@@spamfilter32 But Ward was only an NPC in the Framework, he didn't get the "fixed regret treatment", actually neither did Daisy or Jemma, I know Skyward shippers want to believe Daisy not being with Ward was her biggest regret but the writing doesn't support that, it also requires you to believe Jemma's biggest regret was not being dead lol.

@@NoorAhmed-nk2jq regarding Ward. The Framework fixed his regret. That is why he was mentored by the Hand rather than by Garrett.
@@NoorAhmed-nk2jq Aida didn't think twice about Agnes. If she had, she would have tried to seduce Radcliffe in the Framework.
Yea this arc is amazing
18:18 funnily enough in my opinion the ghostrider section is the „weakest“ part of the season😅 AoS is just on a different level
best show ever
I like how Aida made herself into a real girl in her own fake world
