I'm 59 and I agree. I grew up believing Barbera Eden, Dawn Wells and Elizabeth Montgomery were the most beautiful women in Hollywood. I never saw Eden sing this song. It was rare to watch Eden sing and she did have a great voice. Personally, I don't care for her version of Preacher Man.

I love how late night shows back then were so entertaining and quality. And I love the part where they have him ask for two checks and she makes a sour face. I've never seen this variety program, but I do remember Barbara Eden performing at a nightclub in Atlanta when I was in college in the 1970s. I wanted to go see her show, but I couldn't interest any of my dorm mates so I passed. I've always regretted that decision.
I was there. It was magical. At the end of the act she made this really large sandwich, carved it up into tiny pieces and threw them into the audience.
I had had seen the beautiful Ms. Eden on a tug boat shuttling her and others to the Miami Grand Prix and was in awe at her. I have seen other actors but seeing her was my favorite.

Barbara almost had everything. She could act, sing, dance, a good sence of humor, she was funny and beautiful and even had a fisty side to her too, etc. She's still kicking and still has those those things. I used to have a crush on her and a few others during that time. ❤

We played 'Son of a Preacher Man' in Marching Band; killer Trombone part. That song was SO much better on the Field and a Parade than in concert. We were a high-stepping band and all 255 pieces of the Bank sprang to life for this song. I' m guessing around 1979.
I love this! I'm 72 and Barbara was an early crush of mine. Besides "I Dream of Genie", I thought her appearance on the Andy Griffith show as the manicurist was fantastic. Btw, whoever created these two performances was a genius. The "Matchmaker" skit was hilarious. I wish they still had variety shows like this on TV. Seems like the whole entertainment business has gone to pot. I'll just sit back and watch all of these oldies on YT.
It was in the late 70's when one summer day she came up to check out at the Cigarette counter at the Woolworth's on Huron and Michigan Avenue. Wearing a fur coat she gave me one of the most beautiful smiles I have seen in my entire life. I never thought about her being able to sing and dance too! Unlike Baywatch girls, not putting them down, she was a real deal talented actor.

@@augustusmccrae7714 You're not mistaken. But people remember things differently. Best example: people identify that awful 70s dirge "You Light Up My Life" with Debby Boone. But the original singer was Kasey Cisyk, whose name seems like something on an eye chart. She sang it for a movie with the same name, while Didi Conn lip synched it. Also, many might think Frank Sinatra introduced "NY, NY." He didn't, but he made a big hit out of it.

We played 'Son of a Preacher Man' in Marching Band; killer Trombone part. That song was SO much better on the Field and a Parade than in concert. We were a high-stepping band and all 255 pieces of the Bank sprang to life for this song. I' m guessing around 1979.
I was wounded in Vietnam in December of 1969. Nice to see some people back home were enjoying themselves.

I love this! I'm 72 and Barbara was an early crush of mine. Besides "I Dream of Genie", I thought her appearance on the Andy Griffith show as the manicurist was fantastic. Btw, whoever created these two performances was a genius. The "Matchmaker" skit was hilarious. I wish they still had variety shows like this on TV. Seems like the whole entertainment business has gone to pot. I'll just sit back and watch all of these oldies on YT.
Her singing voice is very different from what I would have imagined. But then I only remember the way she sounded on Jeanie.

It was in the late 70's when one summer day she came up to check out at the Cigarette counter at the Woolworth's on Huron and Michigan Avenue. Wearing a fur coat she gave me one of the most beautiful smiles I have seen in my entire life. I never thought about her being able to sing and dance too! Unlike Baywatch girls, not putting them down, she was a real deal talented actor.

Wow, she's 92 and still kickin' around- that's wonderful! I'm a leg man, so she's always been a favorite of mine- but not just for her legs, of course. As the genie in I Dream Of Jeanie, she was such a sweet person- all bubbly and cheerful- I LOVED her!
