Hi. Have you tested the Shortstache x PolarPro The Everyday Filter 49mm on the WCL-X100 II (equivalent FF 28mm) to X100V wide converter? I'm interested in whether the filter placed on the wide-angle converter causes vignette in the photos?
I prefer less glass on my lens. I’m pretty sure using a Polarizer and a Mist will totally work, and if you already have the two filters, I’d say go for it!
Reporting back. Did some research (I wanted something for an upcoming trip), and went with some black mist filters that stack. At reasonable prices also. Got a step up ring to make sure I get the best bang for my buck also.
i have it and looks nothing like advertised here ..not even close. they edit these photos and make you belive you will get these tones . i wish i can share photos here ..
Just wanted to mention that Chris Burkard also collaborated with PolarPro, but it is only those 3 guys, so seeing anybody collab with PolarPro is a big deal.
"Film" TH-camrs still contributing to the problem in 2024: Gear, gear, gear. Plus it doesn't help when they try to hype up their friends product xDDD that's all it is people
Totally agree with you. The only necessary part of this filter is the polarizer. Black mist is undoable especially 1/4 and above. And you can create similar effect in photoshop very easily. Just buy a polarizer filter and you are good.
@@davey_gravy really you did not notice ?, it's visible most part of the review, for an eg.. 24 1.4 lens you shot, its got a blue / green flair on the glass front
@@neethuandthomasphotography 🤷🏼♂️ I’ve shot about 30-35k more photos using this filter since I made this review, I don’t notice it in day to day life and it doesn’t bother me
@@davey_gravy yes but in your reviews it clearly shows, I'm not criticizing your photography skills I just find this particular filter has such a flair problem..Anyways I'm planning to get one. It's a cool filter.
I'm actually wondering the same, cause a Glimmerglass fits perfectly well to still mount the lens hood. This CPL + Mist filter seems to have just a mere millimeters too much of height :/
The Filter comes in 1/4 and 1/2 strength black mist. Thread it and forget it.
I thought Garatth said 1/8 in clip? . Don’t know they have one for my 28-70 rf lens
This is so great. Love that green. Video definitely doesn’t do it justice. Was cool seeing them in person yesterday.
I’m stoked to see that they come in a few different strengths!
Thank you!
Honored man!
The filters are going to change everything 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Why is the 1/4 Strength Everyday not called Mist PL? Does that mean the 1/4 is ONLY a black mist? Very confusing
Great point!
I hope they add more short stache products. This as a matte box filter would be sweet. Looking forward to getting a couple of these
I hope so too, that would be an awesome upgrade

Hey, unfortunately I don’t have the wide angle converter so I’m not sure
would you prefer this or the regular circular polarizing filter and can you stack filters like cpl vnd and blackmist?

Great video Davey. The hype is real. Can't wait to try it!
Thanks for watching dude! I’m told that these are sold out but I can’t wait till they’re back in stock and everybody can get their hands on them!
Awesome video! 🔥
Thanks dude! I loved yours as well 👌🏼
Does both the 1/4 and 1/2 version come with the filter case box?
I believe both come in a protective plastic case
This has me looking at my sad ND filer I record lol great video, I’ve been thinking about adding a bloom filter to the kit…
There’s some less expensive less flashy Bloom filters that also work really well! This is a really great filter you can get your hands on it

How about the color shifts?
In my time using the filter, I didn’t notice any, but your mileage may vary
Did you go for 1/2 or 1/4 strength?
The 1/4, it’s a great balance, would love to try the 1/2 though
@@davey_gravy Amazon only had the 1/2 at the moment and I'd like one for Sunday but don't want to grab the 1/2 and it be too much.
When there is no light you don’t need a polarizer correct?
@@justonbrazda3846 I believe that is correct
When there is no light you don't need a camera either tho.
Got mine on preorder too
You’re gunna love it!
This filter has two layers of glass or is it just one?
Like any polarizer, two layers of glass to reduce the glare
Super rad new piece of gear!
Im really diggin it so far!
I love mine!!!❤
It’s so good!!!
Ohhhh man, gotta get one of those!
Get it quick! It will sell out
Would love to try it!

@@fotoaddict Nothing, this isn’t a sponsored video. Feel free to share your images on IG and share a link, we can check them out
Does this filter work on any camera lens? I have a Z Nikon 24-120 lens.
Yes it does! You will need to get the matching filter size to your camera lens. I believe the size you’re looking for is 77mm
@@davey_gravy Hi Davey! Thank you for the fast response. I definitely ordered it today 🙏🏼
@@clairesophia3569 Amazing! Let me know what you think of it!
That classic G olive tone though 👏🏻 also loved your review 😊
thank you! I’m pumped to keep using this filter
Does this look good when filming video or just for photos ?
I love it when shooting video!

Did you notice the small green flair that happens sometimes? Probably the only thing not a fan of.
I haven’t noticed anything yet

Photo okay 👌🏼video okay 👌🏼
But then the lens hood no longer works
I threw all my lens hoods away
@@davey_gravy I always use my lens hood. They protect the lens and help with backlighting. That's what they're made for.

TBH, I'm surprised that these aren't magentic
That would be great, I think Freewell makes some adaptors to convert this. I’m assuming they’re not trying to pack everything into the same product.
