Damien Rice - all of his albums, especially "O". Even if you're not actually going through a breakup you will definitely feel like you do if you listen to his songs.
All of your moving on/breakup videos have been so helpful. I've recently gone through a break up with a person who moved on so fast after our relationship ended and your videos have helped me realized that I am allowed to feel what I need to feel and not be ashamed of it. Thank you because you have also helped me realized that I'm going to be okay. We all are.
Your videos lately have been helping me so much with a recent break up of mine. I think I feel like I am moving on but when I am alone or sitting with too much time on my hands, I think about it all again and begin to over analyse how things happened, how they should of happened etc. I just have so much anxiety about it all and I seriously loved this person which has really messed with my head. They are now in a relationship with someone else and I just feel sick every day but I know I have to move on and spend the time focusing on myself rather than trying to fill the hole with someone else. Your self worth video totally helped me realise this and that being single is important after a break up and learning from what you've experienced so you know what to look out for in future.

red by taylor swift is like the ultimate break up album for me
RED by Taylor Swift. It helped me through the break up of a 4 year relationship.
Back to Black is an incredible album. I listened to it millions of times while I went through my break up last year - Tears Dry on Their Own has some of the best lines that are perfect for singing at the top of your voice in the car
EVERYTHING - LIDO literally saved me, it's about his breakup with halsey

I ended an abusive relationship a couple of years ago, and afterwards I listened to Rumours by Fleetwood Mac on repeat for ages. Gold dust woman is a great song for anyone who's felt hurt by a partner and the chain for anyone who's felt trapped. Also 'trip to ireland' by John mcsherry. No words, but a great expression of grief and loneliness.

How Big How Blue How Beautiful by Florence & The Machine is an awesome breakup album ! I feel like it can make you feel everything from anger to sadness (Various Storms And Saints... that song made me cry so much) to joy. I mean her lyrics are always a bit abstract and difficult to grasp but it is essentially a breakup album. This is actually her most "down to earth" album so that says something haha. The song Third Eye helps me so much even just in my daily life, I wish I'd heard it when I was going through my first breakup !

Sorry by Beyonce made me feel like a boss and helped me get things done after I learned that my ex boyfriend cheated on me. Learned it 3 years after we broke up. Oh well...
my all time favorite break up album is Josh Ritter's The Beast in its Tracks, which is about his divorce. what i love about it is that it's so subtle and mellow, yet lyrially so poignant. it's also really not at all bitter (even if there's some bitterness and anger in some of the lyrics too), it's rather hopeful. my favorite songs in that album are Hopeful, New Lover and Joy to You Baby.
Hopeful is about Ritter's new relationship and how his divorce keeps weighing him dow, yet his new partner is hopeful for him to get over his past. There's this amazing part that despite the hopeful and mellow tone of the song is just so strickingly bitter, "I’ve seen her around now with someone new I don’t know. She likes green-eyed boys who are haloed in hope, but I know the look in his eyes and I know all the old signs. It’s just a couple more curves before his own road unwinds." Ritter suspects that his ex-wife is going to treat her new boyfriend just as cruelly as she did him.
New Lover also has a brilliantly almost passive-aggressivley bitter line that i love; "I hope you got a lover now. Hope you’ve got somebody who can give you what you need, like I couldn’t seem to do. But if you are sad and lonesome and you got nobody true, I’d be lying if I said that didn’t make me happy, too." Yet, in one of the last songs of the album, Joy to you Baby, Ritter realises that even tho his marriage ended badly, there was joy in it ever happening too. This line is probably one of my favorite lyrics ever; "There's pain in whatever we stumble upon. If I never had met you, you couldn't have gone. But then I wouldn't have met you, we couldn't have been. I guess it all adds up to joy to the end." It's a line that applies to a lot of life, not just breakups, and it's a sentiment i feel like is often missing in breakup albums. Just because something ends badly and is sad, doesn't always mean the whole thing shouldn't have happened. This comment was long, but everybody really should listen to this album, it's so good!
ooh if you like crush songs, Yuna's a Malaysian artist who does gentle synth-R&B. a lot like alicia keys' new stuff. her song Crush just so perfectly encapsulates the soft quiet feeling of giving in to the butterflies it's so so good
Damien Rice, O. Sad, bitter, angry, tragic. Must be 15 years or so old by now but a timeless classic of a breakup album!
Three Cheers for Five Years is such a good song. Impossible not to tear up a bit listening to it.

Brand New Eyes by Paramore is a great breakup album too - personal favorites are Misguided Ghosts and All I Wanted (which is easily one of Hayley's best vocal performances) and Hate to See your heartbreak from self titled is a great for breakups or just sadness in general. Also Lewis Watson makes some great breakup songs (Windows, Castle Street, Droplets ft Gabrielle Aplin)
The album Oh No by OK Go has some really good breakup-y songs on it. their song needing/getting is also a really good breakup song.. basically OK Go is just great and angsty

This is a little late but I skipped this video because I was happy in my relationship 4 months ago. This weekend was the worst in my life. My girlfriend likes a guy. She totally just moved to another person and didn't tell me about him for a week. I never knew what breaking up felt like. I felt like utter shit, and I still do. So, this video helped me 110%, thank you.
The Airborne Toxic Event's self titled album is an amazing break up album. It isn't 100% break up music but there are some really great songs on it like Sometime Around Midnight and Does This Mean You're Moving On

A lot of harry styles songs are about heartbreak. “Meet me in the hallway”, “from the dining table”, “ two ghosts”, and “ever since New York”; are all about heartbreak and breakups

"Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs" by Derek and the Dominos. It's more about unrequited love than a break up but its so full of pain and longing that I think it counts. It's basically about Eric Clapton's infatuation and obsession with his best friend (George Harrison)'s wife.
