Anytime you have men and women meet somewhere, its' a dating hub. The grocery store, your job, the farmer's market, the hospital, the military, etc. Not sure why guys in the comment section are having a problem with this. If the guys there have their money game and social game together, they can pull 3 or 4 of them while staying on his grind. Just let them know what the deal is and go from there.
@thunderbirdphoenix9057 wrong. The potential to meet is there, yes, when the locals with intent to find someone not doing the hood thing show up. it's a dating network not meant for those looking to earn for their future but get for their tomorrow.
@bigsarge9610 ??? Women get approached by men in a variety of places. So yes, anywhere with people is a dating hub. No different than an app with an inbox is a dating site. The intent is always there.
I never been to Afro Tech but based off of what is being said on this video women especially BW are treating Afro Tech like AllStar weekend. And honestly almost all the women that they meet at these conference is not worth it and most of the women there are ruining the conference and should be banded
I just commented this! Glad to know someone else peeped! They are primarily looking for money and someone to fund the lifestyle. The same way women get dressed up and fly out to whatever city All-Star weekend is going to be in so that they can bag a rich man. The flipside of this is how they turn up their noses at blue collar men.
this is a decent analogy . I disagree with the overall vitriol towards the idea of women placing themselves in areas of potential suitors , but I can see the perspective of this comment
@@TeKeyaKrystal There is a time a place for everything. This is not the place. But if you are also in tech and go for those reasons and meet someone no problem. @@ElevenAceit’s supposed to be open for all of those interested in the trade and career, so even if you have an interest in the field you can start there it’s not their fault they didn’t see these women coming who would?
I don't fault black folks for trying to find a future wife or husband at a respectful place. As long as they keep it respectful...better than the clubs!
Yeah I had enough in high school and late teens. Worked on myself, career, and finances. Got my passport at 18. Woman from another country without the loud talk,profanity,drama,baggage,weave,etc.. Don't even know any black women in the U.S. outside of family.
Why do you group all black women together? Now I can see rejecting the particular black women that were shunning you before and are wanting you now…of course they need to kick rocks, but meeting ones that you have never met before where you are now, why should they have to suffer, they have no idea of your past.
These women attitudes are HORRIBLE. Like how dare a man have standards now that he’s worked on himself. The nerve of him. They do not respect men at all. They just want a sponsor
I work in IT/Tech (Cybersecurity to be exact). My job has sent me to AfroTech 4 out of the last 5 years (2020 for obvious reasons). It's turned into a HBCU homecoming 😅🤣😂. The women who are there just to snag a tech dude areceasy to spot. They usually show up w/o a resumè or business cards for networking purposes, and you can easily filter them out by using tech terms and jargon that only tech professionals are likely to know. They can't carry a conversation b/c they don't kniw WTH you're talling about.
Why will your company send you there given the nature? Besides, shouldn't you be choosing the conference you want to attend? Pending approval? And you don't have to. Very strange if i might add.
@jahudini These white execs don't know WTF is happening at these conferences. It's about optics and public perception. My company is part of an initiative to hire more black & brown ppl in the tech field so they send recruiters every year to at least appear that they're putting the effort forth to attract minority talent. They ask me to go and I do it b/c it's like a paid mini-vacation 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿. Some ppl get asked and some volunteer.
The notion of a flawless marriage or relationship is a myth. There's no set formula for success; what works for one couple may not work for another. Yet, I've discovered that there's always a way forward, even in the most challenging times. Five years ago, my wife and I encountered significant hurdles in our marriage that nearly led to divorce. Despite the adversity, we managed to weather the storm and emerge from it with our bond renewed and revitalised
There is a lot of sense in what you just said and I hope mine works the same way too, we are currently separated but I cant live without her, I love her so much. wish I can get her back I can do anything to have her back, we have tried therapy amongst other things
Its always difficult to let someone you love go, but in my case I had the help of a spiritual adviser who saved my marriage from collapsing her name is shelly renee white
Wow imagine that these folks are upset because the type of guy they initially shunned has now began to shun them because you came to an environment in which you wouldn't even be there unless you thought it benefited you purely to try to find you someone to exploit for their resources I'm sure not all are there for that but seems like most are and if you were to ask me seems a bit predatory
I will be honest I hate that women have turned this into a dating scene. People are coming there to get with companies to help them be better. When we start turning something so positive into the new party area, we start losing some of the companies that take this seriously. We took years to build this, so why are you there for something you know nothing about. This is an event I would have gone to hire people not to party.
THIS is my biggest worry about this. Heaven help them if anything crazy happens. Think of how many companies would pull out or worse not take black people serious in tech and all because a bunch of people who have zero to do and know about tech are there to find "love" and so blatant about it too! They don't even hide their intentions and are shaming people for calling them out on it, it's crazy!
That's all they do, talk bad about Black Men, while they are simultaneously chasing them around twerking trying to get attention. These SKUNKS are exhausting.
@jeffhandy1102 i don't know if that's the answer. Most of the people who are going there are students who are getting into the business. If we raise prices, it will block out some of the people we are looking for.
Host a upscale party, make people register for the party and provide documentation of their career or line of work. Give out wristbands upon entry that light up like they do at amusement parks to all that signed up who are actually in TECH. If your not in TECH you don't get a wrist band. And charge them more for entry. Make it the only party where TRUE TECH people are in the building and have a clear indication of those who are not.
@@disruptor109 I somewhat agree, but they don't forge tickets for any other event, no one was forging Usher Residency tickets. It can be done. Have it the FOX or an upscale venue just like a new years event.

They’re all Laura Winslow. Waste life chasing Stefan, then Steve becomes an inventor and possibly a millionaire and suddenly Laura finds Steve attractive and can’t live without him

It will not be ruined if many put in complaints and suggestions to make sure that the event is focused on what it is suppose to do and make it by invite and strictly enforce that it is an event for tech only and not dating. Escort those who are not suppose to be there out and keep things moving. It only gets ruined if no stand is taken to resolve the issue.

This event cost $450 to attend. I’m senior in my field and I’m not an investor or headhunter, so I really don’t have a reason to attend. But I kind of want to go at some point just to see what everyone is talking about lol. I live in Houston, but I didn’t go because I didn’t think the cost was worth it for someone not looking for a role. Normally when I go to networking events I’m coaching others. They should give a discount for seniors like myself who could be there to help others land the role they’re looking for.

It's kinda sad in a way. This is or was a thing that a lot of hard working black men (problem women too) used to rise up and do and be better. It's bad enough that the women in the community ignored them form the get go and now smell money and status and are on the hunt, but they are kind of ruining the whole thing for future black men also looking to rise up. How long before the very people this was meant for get pushed to the side if not out and it's an event in name of tech only? Sounds like it might already be at that point.
I have been in tech for 10+ years and am fortunate to have been successful. On the education side, I am on my dissertation for my doctorate in tech (DBA). The passiom that I have for this industry is unrivaled. With this said, I would not go to Afrotech at all. There are plenty other ones that are awesome. For my single men - it is great to have fun at these conferences, but don't forget your purpose. Married men - you are on your purpose already. Be professional, be respectful, and understand how not to put yourself in compromising positions
Last thing you know what so crazy about this video the BM that are talked about on this video don’t really end up with BW most of time. In most cases they ended up with any other race of women besides BW. Also the man that are successful that go to these types of events that are with BW in most case where with them women from the beginning before they had success not after their success.
Because these men are too educated to wife a black woman. They know who they truly are. Open leg freaks to the thug until they've ran out of juice then come looking for a simp to take them to the finish line. Not worth a penny investment
I grew up a black nerd and sure enough black women wasn't into me. Left high school a virgin and all that. Luckily I joined the Marines after high school, and got into cybersecurity after the military and started to dress nice and now your boy doing alright. I'm glad I was a late bloomer man, and don't date black women. Pretty much only Latinas, and mix girls.
Them men literally grinded their entire life and been turned down since they were 15.... why.... would....they....even....accept...black....women....who...did...not....want...them...until....they....graduated!?!?!?!
I hear you, but truthfully it's fair for anybody to not be attracted to another person. And in this case, there still genuinely good women who arent in tech that have also grown to appreciate some other qualities a dude offers (other than money). And dudes needed to grow to appreciate the importance of representing themselves better. I aint saying none of these woman have seedy ulterior motives, nor am i saying that all these dudes are good dudes either. I am saying that in the set of woman, and the set of men, there is an intersection where both are decent people, and both grew where they needed to, and now is the time when they are both ready for each other. It may be a small intersection but it's a great opportunity for those in it, i think.
@chillbro2275 Ok and you may have a point, however, thats not even what the tech men are saying. Even they are coming out and saying what those women are doing is not at all it. They'll just ask them tech questions and if they fail to know anything, they have now wasted their time.
We never forget who overlooked us. SOB. Never be second choice. This is why men need to have things strictly for men when it comes to business. Stay on point.

I replied "I'm in IT". THE NEXT THING that came out of her mouth was... "OH!, YOU-GOT-MONEY!". I kinda smiled, stopped talking so much, the conversation dwindled down to um, un-huh, and the like. After the haircut was done and I paid her, I-WAS-GONE and NEVER came back!

Afrotech, Black MBA, Black Doctors Association, Organization of Black Engineers, etc. It is filled with black professionals. It's simple, if you didn't want me then, I don't have any use for you now. If you're not making the same kind of money as me keep it moving. If you have kids with multiple dudes keep it moving. If you're looking for some one to pay all your bills keep it moving. You had a chance to get in on the ground floor but you chose the slick dude that wasn't doing nothing with his life.
Man they messed up Afrotech. Damn shame.

All of these people have the wrong idea. It’s like treating LinkedIn like Tinder. Go somewhere. Sincerely a black man in tech.

this is a decent analogy .
The issue is going there with the sole intention of finding someone and not for the main purpose of the conference.

That raised eyebrow by Michael B. the entire time she was doing the intro said it all there.
Because BW ruin everything. Always want to be somewhere in the way.
They are going to have to raise the cost of entry simple as that
@jeffhandy1102 i don't know if that's the answer.

Afrotech will be ruined next year, they have turned this annual occasion into a hook up event, just like spring break.
Facts the goal is to land a good tech role. Afrotech will definitely be cooked next year.

Last thing you know what so crazy about this video the BM that are talked about on this video don’t really end up with BW most of time. In most cases they ended up with any other race of women besides BW. Also the man that are successful that go to these types of events that are with BW in most case where with them women from the beginning before they had success not after their success.
