So much soul...So much musicianship - in such a small package. He's a good reminder of the heart and soul in music that a lot of the big stage musicians forget is the reason they started in the first place. Yes!!! Loved it! Thank you!
I've been playing harmonica for 50 years and the young guy puts me to shame. God bless him. I really enjoyed that. I've seen James Cotton twice. He was amazing .
There very rare moment in life when I can't simply trust what I see or hear. This is one of those moments. He is only ......... 10!!!! Keep singing young man.
Who are the "JackWagons" who gave this a thumbs down? Mr. Cotton had to be thrilled that his legacy was being carried forward in good hands. James Cotton was one of the best harp players ever.
RIP Mr. Cotton, Superharp. Saw him in a club around 1974, near his prime; entered through the back of the club through the crowd, wailing full bore and never let up. Like all the giants of blues harmonica, he was about more than technical prowess. Muddy's harp sidemen began with Walter, then Junior Wells, then Cotton, and all had style to spare. It's fine to see a kid like this, but in the modern world several facts are clear - too many paths diverge, and most are far more lucrative and trouble-free than music, and especially real blues. Look at the few other young white guitar studs like Johnny Lang. One huge factor that led both Cotton and Jr. Wells to follow Sonny Boy's road was the lack of many other opportunities. Now that music's changed, young black men don't care about the blues, for the most part, and no one can blame them.
Saw James Cotton many a time in Central MASS. years ago,.................always a pleasure and walked away with a glow in your heart!....God Bless you guys!....STAY THE COURSE!......tear it up!......yasssssuh!
GLAD TO SEE YOUNG PEOPLE PLAY MUSIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT"S A GIFT NO MATTER WHAT COLOR YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!! PEOPLE NEED TO QUIT FIGHTING AND enjoy each other, also being alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God bless fellow musician's and singer' s who spread love and understanding , peace !!!!!!!
Oh baby couldn't agree more!! Mans humanity to man thats what it's all about. Great to see such awesome talent at a young age Check out Quinn Sullivan if you haven't already Yet another mighty fine example of talent
Robert Umphlette man yeah,I'm white and I really enjoy this music! Much of the White communities who hate this music, are gonna hate me, but they don't know what they're missing!
This young man brings two very important things back to the blues, the mouth harp and a pretty good voice, the voice will change , but I really hope he keeps up with the harmonica....
Here is his TH-cam channel He is now 16 and still plays the harmonica but he also plays the piano. He has really developed quite a soulful voice. th-cam.com/users/JoshuaKing1
Yes sir young man, you are a diamond in the rough and a rare one indeed. Most people of your age would have the look of puzzlement and ask.....what are the the blues?? You are a gem, you will go far young man. Just happen to notice that this young man is now legally a man.
That old man is his hero and mentor and the reason he plays the harmonica, long time blues man James Cotton. Josh follows him up and down the east coast to get a chance to play with him on stage.
He does go to school. James Cotton doesn't tour that much and I think he only plays with him on weekend gigs. Here is a link to his website. he is now 14 living in South Carolina. www.joshuaking.net/
Very well done! Lots of nice little touches. The kid seems to have a good feeling for the idiom. I liked when the guitarist did the little wolf whistle lick. Let's hope blues makes a comeback. We have a million great guitarists but precious few new blues singers, at least that I'm aware of. And James Cotton has gained a few pounds since 1968 when I last saw him. He needs to shape up so he can get back to being a Hoochie Coochie man.
Joshua was a bit nervous here, understandably, but every now and then it was easy to hear the bluesman in him... His vibrato and phrasing was VERY good..... His tone of voice was lovely to listen to also....... Anyone checked to see how he sings now? He should be amazing!!!
Hope u realy make it big kid u deserve it, ur absolutely brilliant, keep chasing ur dreams! Ul b up ther next to our finest of imfamous rock stars! U truly made my day kid. Wel done!
This kid was born with the blues in his soul. Play on young man, play on...
A dudas mamo y creció escuchando Blus

These musical Starseeds popping up everywhere, scaring me, but I call them Angels !🤩💗💥👏 Very Good !
This. This right here is how I'm going to raise my son. I was singing the blues when I was six, and I want to pass that on.
You are a success Son. Love to see the results of your time and efforts my man.
Are you kidding me??!!!!?? For a 10-year old to play that well is absolutely AWESOME!!!
Kid is great.
God willing, this little guy will grow to be a big guy and keep this classic sound going another 70 years.
It's so nice to hear kids play the blues that I grew up with.
Good to see another generation of blues coming up!
Love that he keeps looking at Cotton, and Cotton is teaching him (LIVE) and keeping him on the beat!
That's exactly what Cotton was doing!
I was not prepared for this child's voice 😳. Excellent!!
I like natural talent and this is one of the best I’ve ever seen 👍👍👍👍

Best thing about this is a young boy being mentored just perfectly. Old man young boy one song bring joy.
Incredible stuff from this little boy. Small man I must say. What style and confidence in him
Sus padres lo educaron y lo formaron y le dieron armas para que salga adelante y eso no se compra se siente se toca y se disfruta
Thank God there are blues lovers of all ages!.
That young man has a future in music, hope they don't ruin him
That's it little brother ,,, took me years to get that good ,,, keep it up your far past most of us already,,,
This kid has real God given talent and is total awesome.
There's definitely hope for the next generation of blues. Rock music might be a pale shadow of it's former self but the blues goes on. Thanks, Josh.
We saw him on stage solo in Charlotte in 2023 Oktoberfest and that kid is now a real showman, a keys master who can harp and sing too.
What a show! Such a LEGEND (yes capital LEGEND) an icon for blues sharing the stage with this kid who has voice and soul of blues. I love it!
There very rare moment in life when I can't simply trust what I see or hear. This is one of those moments. He is only ......... 10!!!! Keep singing young man.

I absolutely love it when kids are born with a musical gift! They put some of the older pros to shame. Not here, of course, but you know what I mean.
It's cool that a kid that age knows the blues
Muddy Waters would be so proud of that kid Joshua if he were still alive!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍
