Ryan! Sofia! These videos do so much more than just teach me how to be self sufficient. They are slowly, but surely restoring my faith in humans. Thank you, a million times over!

You've honestly saved me so much money teaching me how to do things on my own. A ton of it is easier when YOU break it down to my level of understanding, not many will take the time to do this anymore. You've also helped me save my O/O buddies hundreds if not thousands in labor/tools/parts. We've tried to be helpful within our small network and have gained tons of friends and experience for watching you then doing as you do. Thank you.

I really need to do a video to show you all how to correctly install brake shoes. All you need are a pair of vice grips and a hammer to set the retention pin for the return spring. After the drum is off, I can change a pair of shoes in under a minute per side. Been doing it for 35 years.

You kept saying channel locks while using vice grips. 😊 I've got disk brakes on my truck. Do you have a video on those? Also, replacing a brake chamber? You made my back hurt watching you lift that drum into place. Oh, what it was to be young.

Which do you prefer a sliding 5th wheel a fixed one?

Sorry for the delay! I prefer a sliding 5th wheel! However, the fixed one is lighter

👍 How much does the dealer charge for that?

Just got a quote from my local kenworth dealer, for the same job I just did, seals, new shoes, and drums, on all four drives, they quoted me $2300 all in. I paid $965 for all new, top of the line parts, and had about 8 hours on the job. A savings of almost $1350, for 8 hours of my time.

@@truckingandfixing Nice. DIY knowledge is money in the bank. I used to work at a mega dealership and margins are OK on vehicle sales but they are crazy high on repairs. Great videos.

@@mikeschmidt3810 Exactly, when I worked as a tech at Ohio Cat, I recall our parts mark up was around 60% and they were charging close to $150 per hour for field service, while paying me $21 per hour, supplying my own tools that costs close to $30k. Personally, I don't trust anyone to work on my equipment, so its piece of mind as well as savings.
